"I can't sleep." At times, a person would be unable to sleep even though they were completely tired.

Yue Tingfeng went out and came back after a few minutes. In his hands was a deck of poker cards. He jerked his chin at Helan Fangnian. "Dou Dizhu[1], how about it?"

Helan Fangnian's head was hurting, but looking at Yan Qingsi made him want to speak to her. Upon seeing her cold expression though, he did not know how to approach her and speak with her.

He nodded. "Bring it."

Yue Tingfeng glanced at Yan Qingsi and Helan Fangnian. "The winner is allowed to ask one question to the loser, who must answer truthfully."

"Sure!" Helan Fangnian said.

"That depends on the situation."

"Alright, since you're a woman, I'll give you the right not to answer."

Yue Tingfeng scoffed to himself and gave Helan Fangnian and provoking gaze. 'I played cards since I was in primary school. My 'Overlord' title in cards was not for nothing. I'll make you lose big tonight.'

[1] 斗地主 – known as Dou Dizhu, it is a 3-player card game that literally translates to Fighting the Landlord. It is named after the gameplay, in which two of the players team up as peasants to try and beat the landlord. Among the interesting things about this game is the use of 2 jokers (taking the total card count to 54) and the irrelevance of suits. The gameplay and rules can easily be found online and are not that difficult to understand if one has some knowledge of poker hands. As a side note, the translator was first introduced to the game through the Hong Kong movie From Vegas to Macau (2014), in which the main character (played by none other than Chow Yun-fat) is seen playing the game during his birthday party. Ever since then, the translator has begun to incorporate the game into his yearly Chinese New Year celebrations!
