Who can it be?
"Hmm? I can't seem to find her," Wuxing muttered confused, searching everywhere with his gaze. "Maybe she went to some other area?"0
Once he and Scarlet took a shower which couldn't go without Scarlet's prolonging it, begging for passionate kisses and hugs, they cleaned up the bed and returned back to the challenges area.
If anyone knew the two of them were having sex in the middle of the day when everyone was busy grinding points, they would for sure spurt out blood from anger. Wuxing still had a save lead over others while Scarlet was a Queen without even doing much, still occupying the top of the standings.
Being the student of Ash, the big boss, was just a different level. Even if she wanted to lose, it would be impossible.
"Katherine and Anna are also gone… Ash didn't come to pick me up either. Do you think something is wrong?" Scarlet questioned worriedly, moving closer to Wuxing while casually hugging onto his arm.
"I don't think it is anything serious. Maybe they just went to have a break. I'm not sure about Dongmei though…" Wuxing replied, not pushing Scarlet away at all. They already had sex so hugging an arm was the smallest of their offenses.
"I finally found you two."
Wuxing wanted to move, looking for Dongmei when he heard her voice right behind them, startling Scarlet to the point she jumped, tightening her grip around Wuxing only to release it unconsciously, acting as if she did something wrong.
They turned around and saw a calm look on Dongmei's face, gazing at them curiously.
"We were searching for you as well," Wuxing admitted, smiling calmly.
"I was worried about you so I went back but then found out no one is home, so I returned," Dongmei explained and didn't reject his extended arms for a hug, laying her head on his chest. "What took you so long? Are you fine Scarlet?"
She gave Scarlet a look over to check if she was fine but then turned to Wuxing, leaning closer while sniffing his shirt.
"Why did you change your shirt? And why do you smell like Scarlet?" Dongmei questioned as she pulled back, gazing at both of them.
Gulp.
Scarlet swallowed hard and momentarily blushed, looking down as if she was guilty of something.
Wuxing didn't run away from the truth, checking if there was anyone around them and whispered, "Dongmei, we—"
"Shhhh…" Dongmei shushed him by placing her finger on his lips, closing them together. "I know this look. I don't want to know anymore. You want to tell me something serious but this is not the right moment… Also, I don't want to spoil my mood so let's leave it for later. I might accidentally kill someone."
The guilt that Wuxing got rid of before returned once again but there was nothing he could do about it aside from suppressing it and hoping Dongmei forgives him.
"Can it wait?" Dongmei added, looking into his eyes with a mixed expression.
"The world won't fall apart if we wait till evening. This is indeed not a place to talk about it," Wuxing replied, reaching out to caress Dongmei's cheek. "Just know I love you and would do anything for you."
"Mhmm… I know," Dongmei acknowledged as she leaned forward for a peck and pulled away, focusing on Scarlet instead.
"How are you feeling? Did you rest or eat?" Dongmei asked like a caring big sister.
"Yes, big bro took good care of me… Nothing hurts me anymore," Scarlet replied softly, clearly trying to act normal but Wuxing could see she was worried about Dongmei's opinion.
"That's good. Since Ash is not here, you can follow us today, and later we can train with you a bit," Dongmei suggested. "Don't worry about anything that happened. We will talk about it in the evening, alright?"
Scarlet looked up at Dongmei with puppy eyes and suddenly dove into her embrace. "I love you, big sis."
"Mhmm, I love you too," Dongmei replied as she rubbed Scarlet's head. The two looked like a mother and a child yet both had similar mature bodies.
Just as Wuxing moved to hug them both, Dongmei grabbed Scarlet's hand and walked forward, dodging him by a finger length.
"Let's go. Big sis will teach you how to shoot with a gun."
Wuxing only sighed and followed them, knowing very well Dongmei will give him a cold shoulder till she learns all the details. He could only guess but knowing Dongmei, she didn't have the habit of over-thinking.
"Do you know where did Katherine, Anna, and Ash leave?" Wuxing questioned as they passed by the challenge. "They were here before we left."
"They were called for a meeting and didn't tell me anything. We will learn when they return I guess," Dongmei replied as she turned around but instead of a calm face, he saw her knitting her brows with her eyes squinted and lips pursed.
He already met with this face, telling literally, 'I know what you did. You are not going to escape until you spill every little detail.' Dongmei turned around and grabbed Scarlet by the waist, helping her walk normally.
Oof…
Wuxing breathed out, realizing what exposed them.
'Good luck, brother,' Devil Face commented as even he felt hopeless for Wuxing.
Dongmei didn't say anything about what happened but this silence was exactly what bothered him the most. He kept in his words for the whole day, which acted as punishment for his actions.
What distracted him a little was the other girls' disappearance. They didn't meet them till the Daily Challenge in the afternoon. Their faces were grim as if something bothered them but they could only talk to them after the challenge was completed.
It was a normal endurance test with no catches included. Batches of a hundred people were forced to enter the short obstacle course and fifty people with the worst times were eliminated. The last person standing got the most points but Wuxing and Dongmei didn't try hard till the end.
After they entered the last top hundred, they dropped out not to leave Scarlet behind and walked up to Katherine and Anna who watched the Challenge from the side.
"What happened?" Wuxing questioned curiously but the girls didn't answer him, their eyes focusing on Dongmei.
"Dongmei… Someone you know will visit the Selection. Someone really influential. Do you know who can it be?"
