Atmosphere around the two was so awkward
Episode 282- Atmosphere around the two was so awkward0
The atmosphere around the two was so awkward that Eugene didn't know what to do. She didn't even know what happened, however, understood that there seemed to be a slight misunderstanding. As to what misunderstanding that was, she didn't know.
"You're fine now." Eugene broke the silent atmosphere.
The girl in front of her nodded and glanced at her leg. She hadn't seen the bite mark Eugene saw before hence she really thought that Eugene had lied to her. But she wasn't going to say anything as well because it would be embarrassing to admit that she knows what she did to her.
'Oh, the pain…' The girl's eyebrows raised as she moved her legs around. 'The pain is… gone?' She was moving her legs around when a voice spoke,
"You're fine now right?"
The girl glanced up and nodded albeit shyly. She then stared at her legs again and a thought came to her, 'The…pain is gone due to l,l, love? Maybe love is the cure??!'
"Let's go then." Eugene turned around and walked away. When the girl saw this she panicked and called out to her loudly.
"W, WAIT!" She stood up and tried to follow after Eugene but her legs were too weak for any sudden movements and she fell to Eugene's back.
"..." Eugene blinked blankly. For some reason… Everything that occurred in the last 10 minutes felt like a scene from a romance drama she studied before… however with two female leads. Eugene immediately shook her head at the useless thoughts that popped into her head and kneeled down.
"Get on."
Eugene didn't see the expression of the girl behind her; however, if she did, she would have confirmed that what she thought of earlier was right. That this was a romantic drama between two female leads and that she is one of the female leads.
The girl didn't refuse and got on Eugene's back shyly. A thought came to her mind however when she was lifted up and she began to struggle.
"I, I am heavy!" The girl's voice was soft and sounded incredibly embarrassed which made Eugene furrow her eyebrows.
"You're light." Eugene denied. She couldn't feel anything, not even a slight weight.
"N, no! I am heavy!" The girl protested and even started lightly hitting Eugene.
"I already carried you. Now let's go." Eugene continued walking forward ignoring the girl's protest. It was 5 minutes later when the girl quietened down and leaned on Eugene's back obediently.
Eugene could feel the girl sinking deeper into her back which made her tilt her head however she didn't say anything and continued walking towards their destination. The group in front was already far but Eugene made no fast attempts to catch up because of the sleeping girl behind her back.
Hence they walked like this for a good 2 hours before they came across the group who was about to leave from their break.
"OH! THEY ARE BACK!" One student raised his voice loudly which caused some students and one of the teachers to look back.
"Eugeneia! How is student Mia?" The teacher rushed forward and asked.
"Yes, she's fine. Just sprained her ankles, that's all." Eugene replied in a nonchalant manner. It was her first time hearing the name of the girl sleeping behind her back.
"Let's get her medical attention." The teacher said before turning away. Eugene really wanted to tell him that there was no need, but that would sound a bit weird hence she followed him with the sleeping girl.
The teacher inspected the girl's feet and immediately his face was ridden with questions. "She… really sprained her ankles?"
Eugene nodded and watched as the teacher re-wrapped the ankle she wrapped in order to not cause suspicion.
"Yes, but she's fine," Eugene said before walking away towards Aernest, Watt, Ppa, and Camille not knowing how weird her words sounded. After all, how can one heal a sprain in 2 mere hours.
"What happened? Was it serious?" Asked Aernest when he reached her side.
"Snakebite," Eugene whispered in a completely incurable tone.
"WHAT?!" Aernest's voice was raised which caused everyone to turn to them.
Eugene scrunched her forehead and massaged her temples when Camille asked her, "Why? What's wrong? I didn't hear."
"It's nothing." Eugene shook her head, "Just a little sprain." She lied. The reason was obvious because how else would she explain the snake bite that already healed. It was better only to tell the truth to Aernest.
"Oh, that's good." Camille exhaled in relief.
It wasn't long before they began to travel again. Eugene looked behind to check if the aristocrats' children were okay and were plenty surprised when both the males and females were alright.
Aernest saw this action and quickly explained, "It's not surprising. They go shopping for 6 hours straight at a time. This is really nothing to them."
"Ah." Eugene nodded, 'That explains a lot.' Though they were complaining with their mouths, no one ever complained about their physical condition excluding Mia.
Everyone continued walking and didn't stop for another 2 hours. They knew they arrived when they saw a lot of people already crowding the mid area
"Why was everyone late?" The teacher who had arrived immediately condemned the students however shut his mouth after a while. He realized that all the aristocrats were in this group. Unbeknownst to him, the reason why they were late was because there was a slight accident.
The teacher in charge of their group immediately explained it to the others whose eyes got big.
"Is she okay?" The teacher whispered. The teacher holding the girl nodded in reply.
"You carried her all the way here?" The teacher asked.
"No." The teacher shook his head, "Halfway." He immediately began to stretch his back which was aching so bad when he met eyes with Eugene who broke eye contact a millisecond later.
'Weird.' He furrowed his eyebrows. My whole body aches so bad, but there is no hint of discomfort or tiredness on her face?
'Ouch ouch ouch.'
