My little uncle huffed, "I have my own money to start my own family, why would I use my big sister's money?"

I quickly tried to comfort him, "I didn't mean it that way. I mean, I have no use for these money anyway! They should be put to better use. When you have children, I'll give it to them as present. Also, if you have a girl, let's not give her so much money anymore, I don't want her to be fought over like some kind of prize like I am now."

My little uncle looked at me and was stumped. He put down his chopsticks and leaned on his chair. "Jing Tian~"

"Hmm." Jing Tian answer.

My little uncle didn't say anything for a long time.

Jing Tian smiled a lot that day. I was captivated. Jing Tian looked at me. "Nanxing, just pretend that this conversation never happened. Focus on your studies and prepare for your exam. Your little uncle only wants to give you the best he can. He is mad at himself because he didn't come back to check up on you sooner. He's mad, but not at you but at himself."

I looked at my little uncle and I nodded. "I know, that's why what's mine is my little uncle's and vice versa." My little uncle stood up silently and stormed off.

I looked at Jing Tian in a daze. "Did I say something wrong? Why is my little angry angry?"

Jing Tian shook his head. "He's not angry, he's touched."

I was stunned.

"Nanxing, don't be distracted by these things, just focus on your study, we'll handle the rest." Jing Tian said solemnly. What did he mean the rest? Things like Shi Feng's marriage proposal? The other people hungering for my money? These were never big problems in my eyes. In this new life, I would not allow others to control my life again and I would not marry Jing Ning. The wealth my mother had left for me, even though I didn't know the actual number, I didn't care. I still believed the best way was to allow my little uncle to handle them. I only needed the knowledge that my parents love me. I never lacked in money but love!

The college entrance examination arrived on schedule. Jing Ni and I attended the exam confidently. I told Jing Ni that 3 days before the exam, other than the food prepared by Sister Li, Mother Kong and Aunt Bai Rui, we would not touch any food prepared by outsiders. Jing Ni didn't understand why but she went along with it.

Jing Ni and I accepted the snacks and drinks offered to us and we thanked them.

Nanyang looked eagerly at me. "Nanxing, there is still time until the exam, why don't you try the fruits? They're really fresh."

The servant also added, "That's right, third miss, this is a token of appreciation from the old master. You have to eat or drink some or I'll lose my job." I thought about it and pointed at a table not far away, "Let's go over and sit. It's bad to block the traffic." 

Jing Ni hurried over and even helped Nanyang carry her things. We sat down and the servant stood behind us.

Bai Rui said appreciatively, "I'm surprised that old master remembers that it's exam day today. After we finish the exam, we should have your 7th uncle accompany you to go back home to thank the old master in person." Jing Ni and I both saw disdain in the servant's eyes.

Jing Ni looked at me nervously. The servant moved to serve the food and drinks.

I saw a keychain on Nanyang's bag. "Big Sister, I have not seen this pendant before, it's so beautiful." With a sleight of hand, I switched my cup with Nanyang's. Then, I purposely knocked over Jing Ni's ginseng tea.

Jing Ni jumped up and exclaimed, "Oh, I'm so sorry."

I turned to the Jing Family's servant. "Auntie, we're so sorry. We're too nervous for the exam. In apology, why don't you try the fruits my big sister brought?" I pushed the plate of fruits towards the servant.
