"Nanxing, I'm sorry, you were right. My friends aren't really your friends. I was being too naive." Mai Qi admitted.1

Jing Ni and I were stunned. Jing Ni and I had been through a lot. It was not easy for us to survive until today. We had to watch our words so that we wouldn't be targeted when we were too weak. This was especially true for Jing Ni.

Therefore we were flustered by Mai Qi's straightforwardness.

Mai Qi said seriously, "I take back what I said. Even if you don't introduce me to your uncle, I am going to befriend the both of you!" Mai Qi looked at me and Jing Ni with determination. Jing Ni and I smiled.

I extended my hand at her. "Sure, we'll be friends from now on."

Jing Ni also shook Mai Qi's hands. "We can introduce you to her little uncle but you have to promise to treat him as a friend first." Jing Ni added.

Mai Qi nodded. "Of course, of course."

I was surprised that I would find a new friend from this meal. When we finished our meal, those people had already left. Jing Ni and I were shocked. We were already prepared for another battle.

After we bade farewell to Mai Qi, Jing Ni and I walked through the university campus. Jing Ni let out a long sigh.

I held her hand. "To be honest, Lee Yang didn't seem like he was going along willingly. With wealth and family come pressure. Perhaps you should give him some time."

Jing Ni thought for awhile and said, "Nanxing, before I met you, I never thought that one day, I'd be walking through M University as its student. I've already achieved my first goal. My next goal is to work hard and earn a lot of money. I want to buy a nice house for me and mom. That way she doesn't need to rely on others anymore. That is enough for me. I don't need anything else."

I asked. "Jing Ni, you know that Jing Tian will not chase you and Auntie Bai Rui away from his villa. He doesn't even mind if you stay with him forever. So why are you making things so hard on yourself?"

Jing Ni smiled. "I know but that is ultimately 7th Uncle's home. He'll one day marry and I hope his wife is you. I know you won't chase us out either but I want a place I can call my own, a place where my mom can feel safe. Or else mom's heart is always hanging. She is always worried. I need to help her anchor to the ground."

I was silent but I had to admit Jing Ni was right. If I were her, I'd do the same thing. I stopped and said, "Ni Ni, you'll have my full support. But if you need help, don't hesitate to come to me."

Jing Ni smiled. "Nanxing, thank you but I wish to rely on myself."

I shook my head. "Ni Ni, hear me out first. I intend to start a business and I need an assistant. Would you take the job?"

Jing Ni was intrigued. "What do you mean?"

I smiled. "When everything is ready, I'll tell you. The most important thing now is for us to focus on our studies. In the future, I will need your business expertise."

Jing Ni smiled. "Okay! If you need me, I'll always be there."

I was serious about starting a business. I wanted to pick up where my mother left off.

Brother Hu's unit had been with Gao Jing and Gao Da for quite some time already. They had improved a lot. I didn't forget that we still had a club. It was not part of Dragon's Gate or Ardent Flame Alliance, but my club would be called Sky City. 

I invited my gang of four and shared with them my thought. They were so excited that tears welled up in their eyes.

Brother Hu stood up and promised. "Sister Xing, just give us the orders. We will lay down our lives to complete it!"

I was proud. We had literally gone through life and death together. They had risked their lives to protect me. Fate between people was very mysterious and powerful.

I was in the Nan Family for years, despite Li Yuan and Nanyang's best efforts, they could not earn my trust. However, Brother Hu's unit and I started as enemy but the second time we met, we already formed an indelible bond. 

Tan Si wiped his eyes with his sleeves. "This is wonderful, Sister Xing. We thought we'd serve Master Qi and Master Si for a few more years while we waited for you to graduate from university. We didn't expect this day to come so soon."

Big Bear and Ah Mang knocked Tan Si jokingly. "Sister Xing, Tan Si didn't mean that we mind serving Master Si or Master Qi. We just didn't feel like we belong. The people on both sides treat us well but we don't really belong with either of them."

I could understand because Jing Ni probably felt the same way.
