Cooperation

Old Master Jing's guidance allowed me to create a small yet devastating disruption. As expected, there was a weakness to every negotiation.1

Even though Old Master Jing wasn't here, his teachings allowed me to defeat Jing Ning and Ye Qian easily. I saw the joy on Smith's face, and I was impressed by Old Master Jing's ability to play to Smith's liking.

Smith signed my contract right in front of us. "Miss Nanxing, I'm very happy to be working with you. When do you think we can sit down and start planning the next step?"

His eagerness was exactly what the old man had predicted.

I smiled. "I'll bring my team to your company tomorrow. Is that okay?"

"Of course! I'll be waiting for your arrival!" Smith's ecstatic expression made me happy. Old Master Jing used his own money to buy the project from his own company.

Jing Ning's face turned ashen. "Mr. Smith, the consequences of your actions will be very serious."

Smith shrugged. "I'm very sorry, Mr. Jing, but business is business. I have to put my interest first. If you were me, you would have made the same choice. Hopefully, we'll have other opportunities to work together." 

He turned around and smiled at me. His smile was like a candied walnut. "Miss Nanxing, then I'll go back and prepare for tomorrow's meeting!" He said happily.

He waved his hands, and his bodyguards followed downstairs. He didn't even look at Jing Ning and Ye Qian. 

Jing Ning wanted to chase after Smith, but he also wanted to deal with me. He was caught in a dilemma. I took Smith's seat and faced Ye Qian and Jing Ning.

Jing Ning wanted to strangle me to death. "Nanxing! How dare you? What cave did you come from?"

I looked up at him and smiled. "Young Master Ning, why were you surprised? Didn't you see me walk in earlier?"

Ye Qian pulled Jing Ning to sit down and asked gently, "Nanxing, are you the only one here? Where's Master Qi?" She had already asked this question once, and it was obvious that she wasn't satisfied with my answer.

I sighed and said, "To be honest, I was abandoned by Jing Tian."

Jing Ning snorted coldly. "Do you think we'd believe that? You said my grandfather had made an agreement with you? Nanxing, you are a horrible liar. My grandfather wouldn't even sit in the same room as you. No one will buy your nonsense!"

I smiled. "Mr. Smith did."

Jing Ning was so angry that he couldn't speak.

Ye Qian added, "Nanxing, can't we talk peacefully?"

I looked at her with a cold gaze. "What's there to talk about?"

Ye Qian bit her lip. "Nanxing, did we... have some sort of misunderstanding?"

I said calmly, "Whether it's an understanding or not, we both know the truth. Ye Qian, both you and Lu Yan said you don't want to be my enemy, but both of you have spared no effort to make the other my enemy. How low-handed is that? If that's the case, why not bring it all to the surface? We can compete fairly, and the result will be fair. Wouldn't you agree?"

Ye Qian's face turned a little pale.

I continued. "You know what kind of person I am, but you still want to test my bottom line for the sake of profit. Congratulations, because you have found my bottom line. Jing Tian is my bottom line. Ye Qian, if anything happens to Jing Tian, I will make sure that everyone involved in this matter will die a horrible death! I'm sure you know that I am not joking."
