I nodded, "Yes, and you lost it!"

She was a little melancholic.

I reached out and hugged her shoulder. "It's alright. There will always be a way!"

Banxia never struggled with meaningless things. She immediately smiled and said, "Yes, I believe you, Miss."

I was feeling like quite a fool. To think this silly girl would take my loss seriously...

"Is uncle at home?" I changed the topic.

Banxia nodded. "Yes."

My uncle's name was Tong Hui. He wasn't in good health. I heard that he was poisoned when he was young. Although he was cured, his body had already been damaged. As a result, he always looked like he was on the verge of collapse. I was always worried that he'd sleep one day and never wake up.

My uncle said this was a hereditary illness. The last person to have it was my grandmother. When she died, she couldn't remember anything either.

Mrs. Ma Ji said this couldn't be rushed. The process of memory recovery was quite torturous. 

I had this feeling that I had forgotten something or someone important. Sometimes, I really wanted someone to pry open my skull to see which screw had fallen off. I wanted to fix it as soon as possible.

Amnesia was like blindness. Everything in my world was black.
