Duan Yanhao switched on the flashlight immediately and knelt down to check on Bai Yaoyao's leg. Seeing the small puncture wound on her leg, his face paled considerably.

He stood up and carried Bai Yaoyao down onto the ground. He kneeled down immediately and started to treat her wound. He took off the scarf wrapped around his neck and wrapped a tourniquet around her wound before he started to suck her blood out.

At that moment, Bai Yaoyao realized that she was likely bitten by a snake.

She didn't know what snake it was, but she was afraid that it was venomous. Looking at what Duan Yanhao was doing for her, she felt that it would be worth it if she died right then and there. At least it wasn't a wasted effort for her to come into this world since there was one person who treated her this nicely.

Her heart had never felt this warm. Even with the chilly autumn wind blowing, she felt warm all over.

Duan Yanhao sucked the poisoned blood out and spat it out. After repeating this action a few times, he paused before he raised his head and asked, "How are you feeling?"

Bai Yaoyao did not mind Duan Yanhao's lack of reply. His side profile was equally moving. She had never thought of Duan Yanhao as handsome, but at that moment, he was more attractive than anyone else.

Especially when he frowned and quickened his pace.

After they drove back, Duan Yanhao quickly carried Bai Yaoyao to the emergency ward and got someone to inject her an anti-venom.

He only heaved a sigh of relief when he heard that she would be fine.

Under Bai Yaoyao's request, the doctor gave Duan Yanhao an anti-venom as well. Once that was done, Duan Yanhao carried Bai Yaoyao back to his quarters instead of her barracks.

"Sleep here tonight."

Looking at how domineering Duan Yanhao was acting, Bai Yaoyao did not argue and instead replied crisply, "If I sleep here, then what about you?"

Duan Yanhao replied, "You just have to rest well. Don't bother about me." He intended to sleep on the sofa. This was still an army camp, so even if it was an officer's private quarters, it was just a bedroom that couldn't compare to his house.

He had a villa at the nearby city, but it would take a two-hour drive, and he did not wish to tire Bai Yaoyao needlessly.

Bai Yaoyao knew that Duan Yanhao was concerned for her. After considering it for a moment, she spoke, "I think it's better to return to my barracks."

"No way. You have to listen to me this time around."

Bai Yaoyao's magnificent eyes lit up, and she smiled gently. "Duan Yanhao, are you ordering me as an officer?"
