Duan Xinya's heart ached seeing him like that. She was just a few years older than her nephew but she had watched him grow up. That child had always been strong and resilient.2

This was her first time seeing him so fragile, and it made her heart ache. It looked as though he had been abandoned by the entire world.

"Yanhao, Yaoyao will be fine. Don't be too sad." Duan Xinya sighed and gently patted his back.

Duan Yanhao shuddered but remained in that position.

"Yanhao, trust me. You and Yaoyao had been through so much to be together. Things will be fine this time too."

Duan Yanhao still didn't budge. Duan Xinya pulled his hand and to her surprise, she felt dampness on her hand. She finally realized. Was Yanhao… Crying?

Duan Xinya was in disbelief, and she had no idea how to respond.

She knew her nephew well. He never ever cried. She really couldn't believe it.

Her lips trembled. She didn't know how to console him, so she pulled his hand hard and said, "Yanhao, you're a man. You can't do this. Trust me, everything will be okay. Nothing bad will happen to her. She just fainted. When I was upset and passed out, I also woke up after a while. Yaoyao will be fine, okay? Listen to me."

Duan Xinya tried hard to suppress her own emotions as she comforted Duan Yanhao.

Duan Yanhao looked intently into Duan Xinya's eyes. His voice cracked as he asked, "Aunt, it'll be fine, right?"

Duan Xinya bit her lower lip and nodded. "Yes, Yaoyao is a nice lady. She'll be fine."

Duan Yanhao didn't answer her and stared straight at the emergency room door without blinking. He didn't want to miss the moment the doors opened.
