When Yun Bixue stepped out from the washroom, Xie Limo went forward to help her walk to the sofa to sit.1

"I have something to settle outside, so I'll be going out. Let the servants care for you."

After speaking, Xie Limo picked up the car keys on the table and prepared to leave.

"I saw the weather forecast today. The weather's still quite hot."

Xie Limo caressed Yun Bixue's head. "We are approaching September soon. The temperature won't be soaring any higher. Be good and stay at home. If anything happens, just give me a call, and I will be back."

Yun Bixue nodded her head. Usually, she wouldn't interfere when Xie Limo goes out to settle his things.

"Remember to return earlier."

Hearing Yun Bixue's instructions, Xie Limo paused in his steps and turned around. He pecked her on the forehead. "Rest assured, I'll come back early. Take care of yourself at home."

"Okay."

As Yun Bixue listened to the sound of his car leaving, she suddenly realized that his departure, even for a single minute, would cause her to miss him.

This sort of feeling was something borne from Xie Limo's pampering.

He used to always be around to protect her. Now that he was becoming busy and often absent during the day, she was a little unused to the change.

Simply sitting on the sofa was a little boring, so she picked up the remote control and started scrolling through the channels.

On the television, she saw Zhou Pingyu who was talking to the public.

Yun Bixue mumbled, "Who would've expected Zhou Pingyu to be so popular amongst the public?"

Yun Bixue suddenly realized that the officials who were around him and some who were welcoming foreign diplomats were the people who she financially aided back then.

She didn't expect them to be able to develop so well within a few months with their own capabilities.

Yun Bixue was comforted by the thought of it.

Thinking about Meng Xintong, Yun Bixue hesitated a little before calling her.

"Bixue, you finally called me."

Hearing the displeased tone from the opposing end of the call, she pursed her lips with a smile. "You're a busy person, so I didn't want to disturb you."

"It's probably the opposite, right? Something probably happened that made you remember about me."

The reason why Yun Bixue and Meng Xintong seldom met in the imperial capital was to avoid the eyes of others. Both of them clearly knew that, but everytime they called each other, they couldn't help but tease the other a little.

"I saw your Zhou Pingyu on the news today talking to the public. He's very popular."

A sigh could be heard from the other end. "I knew it. You wouldn't think of me for no reason. So it was because of Pingyu."

"Isn't thinking of him the same as thinking of you? The exact same."

"In what way are we the same. I heard that you have quite a few friends by your side as well…"

Before Meng Xintong could finish her sentence, Yun Bixue quickly reassured, "No matter how many friends I have, you will always be my most important friend."

With that statement, Meng Xintong was satisfied. "Pingyu is indeed working hard. I heard that the officials were lacking manpower especially with so many big movements in the imperial capital. His hard work has been showing through, so he might be promoted this year."

Yun Bixue was startled. Zhou Pingyu was climbing the ladder quickly. As expected, Xie Limo's judgment was excellent.

"That's great. When are you two getting married? This has dragged on for long enough as well."

"Probably by the end of this year, but it's not fixed yet. Once it's fixed, I will definitely inform you."

Yun Bixue replied seriously, "Of course you have to. I treat you like my family."

"What treat? You are my family."
