Ice Fire Ape

On the third day, the team finally arrived at the ice fire apes valley.2

The Golden Flying Knight who was in the sky made a safe gesture to Berni, then flew into the valley to check further areas.

Bernie turned to Wizard Aitken, "It'll be tough to do this just by yourself. I'm sorry."

"It's alright," Wizard Aitken nodded and picked up the circle materials from his portal bag and placed them near the entrance. 

This magic circle was their secret weapon to defeat the ice fire apes. Abel was a little surprised by their wealth since they had to support two circles. 

Wizard Aitken spent one hour placing it and looked exhausted. This job was meant for two wizards. Bernie gave him some water and helped him sit down. He smiled to look at what he'd done and said, "I'm fine; just give me several minutes to relax."

Then he picked up a small potion from the portal bag, drank, and took meditation. Mana waves began to emanate.

 "Abel, you don't need to help us this time. If everything's clear, the ape will be killed without having the chance to fight back," said Bernie, "This is a lightning chain circle. It cost a lot to borrow it from the master of the circle." 

15 minutes later, Wizard Aitken finished his meditation. Though he was still looked pale, his energy and mana had refilled, "Borton brothers, I'm ready," He said.

The Borton's leader nodded and waved his sword, and a white combat qi rushed into the sky and exploded.

In just a second, they heard the roar and explosive sounds afar. The Golden Flying Knight in the valley flew towards them, and an ice fire ape was coming behind him.

"It's coming! Abel, please protect Mr.Bernie!" Borton's leader didn't seem very relieved.

"I'll try my best!" 

Abel guessed this ape might have ten meters height. It was angrily throwing fireballs at the Golden Flying Knight and walked so fast that it arrived at their circle in just several minutes.

As Wizard Aitken activated the circle, many bolts of lightning surrounded and attacked the ape. With a scream, the ape shook.

"Fire!" The Borton's leader used the combat qi whip, standing outside the circle to attack the ape

Other commanders did the same, but from Abel's view, he knew the whips didn't have enough damage. It just seemed to hurt the ape's skin. 

"Mr. Bernie, I don't think they'll kill the ape if they just use the whips," Abel said.

"You don't know a lot about official soul beasts, Abel," said Bernie, "This beast lives on energy, so it'll die if it uses all of its energy. All we need to do is to accelerate its consumption."

Wizard Aitken was concentrating on the circle. Since it was meant to be controlled by two wizards, any mistake he made would be serious.

Abel didn't know how strong ice fire apes were, but the Borton brothers killed the forest python by themselves. For the ape, however, they needed the help of the lightning chain, so he knew that they must be more dangerous. Plus, the circle seemed dangerous as well. If Abel entered, he guessed the lighting would kill him suddenly. In the Holy Continent, he hadn't heard about a circle that attacked--only defensive. 

After some time, the ape was weakened and looked like it was going to fall. The group's morale rose.

Just as they thought of their victory, they heard another roar in the valley. 

"Oh, no." Bernie grimaced.

The Borton brothers were shocked; they couldn't deal with two apes at the same time.

Wizard Aitken was so concentrated that he didn't even hear anything.

Bernie shouted to the Borton brothers," take Wizard Aitken away. We can't all die here!"

"Mr. Bernie, dwarves are not afraid of death!" Borton's leader accelerated attack speed.

The rest of the Borton brothers did not say anything. They just accelerated their speed like their leader.

Bernie was touched, then the Golden Flying Knight flew before him," Mr. Bernie, please take my mount to back our camp, if we survive, we'll meet you again!" and he joined in Borton brothers to whip the ape.

Bernie took out a bottle of wine, drank it out and smiled, "Brothers! Let's fight together! Dwarves are not afraid of death!"
