0"Grandma Ju, I'll be going home now."

"Take care out there Kyler. Be careful on your way, you have a bad habit of being dazed when walking. One of these days it could get you in trouble or an accident, so please stop doing it."

Kyler nodded his head while a small smile graced his lip, although his appearance looked average and adorable compared to his genuine beautiful and tempting appearance, it couldn't erase his natural charms.

Despite how Snow and the others have sealed his siren side, it doesn't change the fact there is still something that couldn't just be suppressed.

Just as now, when Kyler smiled even the old woman couldn't help but become stunned for a few seconds, unable to figure out why the young man before her had a certain pull once in a while. Before inwardly worrying about it since it would lead the young man in trouble if that certain charm is shown to the wrong people.

It's not even about the young man's appearance, there is just something special about him that made one want to pay attention toward him. It's one of the reasons why she notices the poor little thing.

Especially his pair of eyes looking so lost that she just couldn't turn away and ignore it. Despite how the young man seemed to think of her as a kind and benevolent old woman from helping out in his time of need. 

Ju wasn't that nice to help every single person she met, because people these days get themselves in trouble without thinking of the consequences of their actions. It's completely unlike their past generations, there is just something colder and more indifferent to the people born in this time.

It might be because the era and the environment aren't the same as they used to be. All those conveniences, technologies, and inventions might have increased the ease of life compared to the past but it also doesn't change the fact that they also lost something important that made them more human.

Just the other day, instead of helping out during an accident, most of the people around remained rooted in their spot, never stepping in to help out despite the worry in their eyes. She knew what was going on in their mind and because it wasn't happening toward them that they couldn't bother to have the determination or will to step forward.

And the horrifying thing was the fact that some of them even took their cell phone out and started taking pictures, videos and those live streams she often heard from the granddaughters and grandsons of her old friends.

Ju can only sigh and shake her head while rechecking the pet stores that had become one of the remaining memories her old husband left behind after his death. And after locking the door, she let out a sigh one more time.

At least, the young man she helped out was different from the people in this era. Despite how it's quite obvious there is something more with his identity, what with the way he gracefully and elegantly moved so naturally, it just showed that he had grown up in a distinguished family, she is just happy to meet people that remind her of the past.

Ju just hoped that whatever trouble and problem that was plaguing the young man would soon be solved.

And as she sits upon the comfortable chair of her humble small home. A small smile graced her lip, her appearance slowly changing into one with the familiar sign of the demon race.

"Young man, life is full of surprises. You are still young and can have countless possibilities. Don't give up and bravely face it."

After all, Ju is familiar with the unconscious look on Kyler's eyes, it was completely similar to the one she saw on her late husband after remaining completely clueless about his real emotions toward her.

"If that person truly and genuinely loves you to the deepest part of his heart, memories or not, he will fall in love with you again. Ah.. such a young love."

"I know right?"

Suddenly, in a dark corner, an extremely seductive woman silently appeared causing the old woman to widen her eyes before recognition flashed through them.

"... What's the famous demon fox doing, appearing in my humble abode?"

"Ah, Little Ju, despite how old you look now, you never change. Most people who recognize me would have run after seeing me, you know?"

"How could I be scared of the person who saved me and my late husband? It's been a while, Lady Dian."

Old Lu's serious expression instantly brightened and despite the fact she had grown old while the person before her remained with the same appearance as the last time she saw her, it didn't change the fact of how much she missed her.

It's been countless years since she had seen the demon fox after she helped them out to settle down.

"Hahaha. Don't call me Lady anymore, I'm sure you heard how I've got a Master now. Speaking of which, Little Ju, you sure have done a great job a while ago. And I'm here to thank you.

"Huh?"

"You see, My Master's hands are completely tied up this time, so he could only watch in the dark."

Dian, the famous demon fox feared by all races, especially after the war between the land and the sea races, has shown a serious and solemn expression on her beautiful face before bowing her head low, causing the old woman to widen her eyes in shock and surprise.

"My Master will definitely visit later, but I also want to offer my thanks for reaching and helping out my Master's younger brother."

Completely ignorant of what is happening to the old woman and the sudden appearance of the well-known demon fox, Kyler finally arrived at his simple home only to stop after taking a couple of steps and snapping his head at the living room.

"Ah, I'm so happy. My younger brother is quite aware of his surroundings now. That's good! It's finally time for you to sense if something is amiss since it could get you in danger, you know? I have always been worrying about how oblivious you are to your surroundings."

"... What are you doing here… Big Brother Flake."

Kyler's expression turned serious and solemn while staring at the ten-year-old boy sitting on his couch with an innocent and childish expression on his face. And yet, he wasn't fooled by his older brother's appearance.

Even after all these years, everyone's appearance had some slight change, and yet, only his older brother Flake's appearance remained.

As for the reason why he wasn't happy seeing his older brother, someone who is also unrelated by blood to their Father. It was because unlike Kyler who had his doubts and suspicions, Flake had remained content and happy with everything.

And that was something he couldn't understand and felt envious about. There is also a fact that similar to their Father's attitude of being cooped up in certain places doing embarrassing matters, Flake also had the habit of leaving their home for years, with the reason of 'The world is calling out to me!' or 'Knowledge! I'll learn everything I can to help out our Father's goals!'.

There is also some sort of 'I'll learn the way of medicine since our Father couldn't do it!' after he witnessed those failed attempts of making a higher caliber of medicine.

"Aw, don't look at me like that! You know, no one can change our Father's decision once he has decided on something. Besides, isn't it time for you to face the consequences of your actions? No one would look after you forever you know?"

Unless you decided to be with the young dragon because it's quite obvious he was willing to take care of you for the rest of your life.

Flake smiles and never reveals his thoughts, after all, his younger brother is in a rebellious phase now and it's quite an experience for him to have too since all his siblings in the previous worlds so far had behaved quite well.

Or they simply knew how scary their Father Snow could be. So yeah, ignorance is simply bliss.

"You can say that because our Fathers adored you."

The perfect son…. Kyler couldn't help but remember the words he once heard about from one of the important visitors in their home. It's also one of the reasons why he couldn't get close to his older brother Flake and also reminding him of how petty and horrible a person he was to be feeling such emotions.

Flake couldn't help but let out a sigh because he couldn't understand how his younger brother even had the thought that their Father doesn't adore him. Their Father Snow might have never shown it more clearly in this world, but it doesn't change the fact that Snow loves everyone he saw as his.

And Kyler is obviously part of the people Snow cared about.

"This is the reason why our Father chose to let you out and see the world after you decided to run away from home."

"What do you mean by that! Do you know what I experienced all these months? What I felt when no one came to help me out, leaving me all by myself?"

"Kyler, don't forget, everything happening to you now is because you chose it."

Flake's expression turned serious, cutting into Kyler who obviously had been keeping all those negative thoughts and emotions from the past three months. Despite how Kyler had learned some important matters in life, it still wasn't enough.

Fortunately, their Father Snow deemed it fit that Flake can finally visit his younger brother.

"Don't think we didn't know what you thought about our family. Especially whenever Daddy Claus is always carrying our Father Aurel in every place right. You feel it shameful and mortifying right? A complete embarrassment?"

Kyler shut his mouth, unable to let out another sound after learning one of his deep thoughts had been known all along.

"But, Kyler, did you ever wonder why or think more deeply about if there was a reason why our Daddy Claus carries our Father Aurel around?" 

No, it never once crossed his mind.

Flake didn't even need to hear the answer from his younger brother after seeing the expression on his face. Just as all of them thought, Kyler needed to learn a lot or else his obliviousness would lead him to a situation he would regret his entire life.

"You also wanted to be left alone, right? Somehow you started feeling useless and it's beneath you after still being babied when you are almost an adult. The constant protection and concern of our relatives felt restraining, especially when we never allow you to go out a lot and without people following you in secret."

Flake didn't stop talking even when Kyler's face started turning pale white as all the secrets he kept hidden were being revealed before him. It might be a ruthless and cruel thing for Flake to do, but they aren't going to be by Kyler's side forever to protect him.

"So we let you live by yourself just as you had always wished. We didn't offer our help because you wanted to show us how you could do anything as long as you put your mind to it, right? And yet, you are blaming us… No, you are blaming our Father Aurel for it?"

The smile on Flake's face had become quite similar to Snow's expression whenever he was dealing with the enemies in a calm and reasonable state. Which was when the face-slapping was about to occur.2

"You think everything you experience has been horrible? Heh, Kyler, you are still naive. Do you even know the meaning of being the only pureblood Siren left in the entire world after our Father?"

Flake's blue eyes turned dark before a nasty sneer appeared on his childish and young face.

"You are one of the rarest races in the entire world, countless people wanted to get their hands on you. All these years, do you know how many people we dealt with just to keep you safe? We even kept your appearance and identity a secret too so that you won't be easily recognized once you can freely go out."

Just as quickly Flake's expression turned terrifying, he soon showed a concerned and worried expression on his face while seriously gazing into the white-faced Kyler's eyes.

"Kyler you have to understand, we can't keep protecting you forever. Do you even know how you could easily tempt the other races from doing something dangerous or crazy after they saw your original appearance?"

It's irresistible and unparalleled. There are a lot of crazy and foolish people out there too. No matter how powerful and terrifying their reputation could be, there are bound to be people out there that wouldn't hesitate to act out.

"You might see our Father Aurel's decision as cruel and ruthless to let you experience all of these but everything he does isn't so simple."

"..."

When Kyler remained silent, Flake couldn't help but let out a deep sigh before shaking his head.

"Do you even know the real reason why our Fathers had decided to let Xaver take care of you all these years?"

It seems that it's time for Flake to reveal the deeper reason for their Father Snow's decision to teach Kyler about facing the consequences of his actions and the way life is.

"Because you will outlive our Fathers. You will outlive me too. Even our Uncles will die before you. The only person who can accompany you for a long time is Xaver."

"!!!"

"Kyler, we won't force you to feel the same way for Xaver. Our Fathers had known about Xaver's feelings for you a long time ago. As long as Xaver didn't completely confess his feelings and gave you the proof of his love, then we can do something about it. After all, you should know about how dragons wouldn't change their mind once they have chosen a person."

Snow and Flake are always prepared for unexpected situations, so they aren't surprised when Kyler decided to take a step back after learning of the young dragon's affection. After all, no one could predict and control a person's emotions.

"I shouldn't be even speaking about this since it's quite obvious but Kyler, our Father had always loved you. Even before you came out of the shell, our Father already adored you. So don't ever doubt it. They might have not shown it so clearly all these years but, my younger brother, you are truly and honestly loved."

Flake had stood up before quickly walking over to give his younger brother a hug. The once baby siren had now grown up and turned into an adult. It's already been two hundred years, and although it seems like, it is still the modern era, it's just the preferred way of growth in this world.

"If you still don't believe me, then go learn more about our Father's past. You know, our Father can be soft, he would have wanted to keep it a secret forever but it seems that you need to know it."

Flake gently patted his younger brother's back, which was shaking from all that he learned today. Although it might look awkward to others' eyes because he wasn't tall with his appearance remaining ten years old because of his brother Loki's blessing to change into physical form.

"Kyler, we can't be here for you forever. So, start facing all your problems, and be more aware of your surroundings and what is happening around you. Be brave, my precious Little Brother."
