"Isn't your Master… the Demon Lord?"2

"Yes! Master Flake is the Demon Lord of the entire demon race! Isn't it amazing how someone so adorable could be so domineering?"

Dian smiled happily before letting out a sigh once in a while. And Old Ju's expressions become strange while a certain thought quickly flashes in her mind.

"... So Little Kyler's Older brother is…"

"Yup! The Demon Lord! You have done an amazing job this time Little Ju! Don't you know how My Master simply adored our Young Master Kyler? He had been worrying all these months while watching our Young Master Kyler struggle by himself!"

Dian shook her head before taking a sip of the offered tea from Little Ju.

"It's too bad, no one can go against my Master's Father's decision, even if Master Flake is the Demon Lord. Lord Aurel is simply a terrifying person, you know? He can obliterate our people if he so wishes."

Old Ju couldn't help but wrinkle her eyebrows after she remembered the situation she found the young Kyler had been in, while Dian shook her head after catching a glimpse of her little friend's concern.

"Oh, it might seem cruel and ruthless for them to do so, but, Little Ju, Young Master Kyler needed the lesson. Especially with people like Master Flake, and their Father as his family. Young Master Kyler is bound to be facing various and constant dangers even if he wants to or not."

Especially if he was going to be the only Siren left after Lord Aurel passed away.

Dian stood up before stretching since it was time for her to go. After all, she needed to complete the missions her Master had given her. It was to completely make sure that after her Master Flake is gone; the world is far safer for the Young siren to live in.

Soon, she silently left the younger demon she had helped in the past while feeling down and sad inside after being reminded that she would outlive her Master.

Don't worry Master Flake, I'll make sure to take care of your younger brother for you. Even if you are gone, you will always be the Master that I, Dian, had chosen.

In another place, Flake sat in front of a table while watching with gentle and curious eyes as his younger brother was making food in the small kitchen of his apartment. It's quite obvious how he couldn't contain the excitement he is feeling. After all, it was going to be the first time he would eat the food his younger brother had made.

"Ah, you will be a good husband."

Or a wife…

"..."

"I'm sure our Fathers would want to taste the food our youngest made!"

"..."

"... Heh, I'm sure that young dragon would die in envy if he ever remembered everything and know I'm the first one to taste the food you make~"

Kyler's shoulder flinches while the bowl he is holding almost falls down in the ground.

"Big Brother…"

"It's alright Little brother, you don't have to worry about Xaver's situation. The most powerful witch, the most powerful Siren, and the most powerful Elven blood blessed human-made their move. Of course, I helped too!"

I have become the Demon Lord years ago you know? But, I don't need to tell you that, hehe~

Flake really wanted to brag about it to his younger brother but he could stress him more than he already did. So, he will be nice and let Kyler know later on when he is ready.

"It's not about that! I… I…"

Kyler's emotions are basically in chaos, especially after everything he heard a moment ago from his big brother Flake. He was honestly confused and didn't know what to do next. He was still processing all that he learned, especially the part where he will outlive his parents, brother, and relatives aside from Xaver.

"... W-why… Why do you have to die before me!?"

I don't want that! I don't want the people I love to die! I… I…

After placing the bowl of noodle soup on the table, Kyler tightly closes his eyes while his hands clenched hard. And Flake just glanced at his younger brother and spoke without sugar-coating it.

"That is how life is and you can't run away from it."

After all, Flake can't baby his younger brother too much anymore.

"I… I know! Big Brother, but can't you be nice about it!?"

"We have been nice all these years, it's time for us to be harsh."

"...!!!"

Kyler wanted to scream in frustration, only to slump down on the table, with his face hidden in his hands.

"Why are you even here? Didn't our Father make sure no one would help me out?"

"Foolish Little brother, if no one is really helping you out in the dark, why are you still living right now?"

Flake smiled in amusement when Kyler's head snapped up with utter disbelief on his face.

"The world is more dangerous than you think. Even if your real race is hidden, it doesn't change the fact that the world is quite dangerous. I have been taking care of the dangerous people that you wouldn't have been able to run away from, just like the last time you faced those people in the dark alley."

Flake began to slurp on the noodle soup his younger brother made, noticing how he seemed to have the talent for it. Before continuing on his lecture to teach and help his younger brother.

"And the reason why I can appear now is because you changed a bit.  Father Aurel and I can see it. You didn't even think of me taking you back home, right? And it wasn't because of the reason why you ran away in the first place."

Flake smiled when Kyler remained silent because the both of them knew that the experience of those three months was enough of a wake-up call to know that he needed to grow up and learn more about the world out there.

Of course, the familiar stubbornness is what also stops his younger brother from wanting to come back home.

"But don't lower your guard and feel relief. As long as you aren't dying or in danger of permanent damage both physically or mentally, I will only watch from the sideline."

I almost died in that dark alley!

Kyler wanted to scream out but then decided to stop because it's quite obvious that his family lacks some common sense just like him. They are a crazy bunch, it's the main reason why they are feared by the other races.

He wasn't that oblivious of how careful and fearful the people tend to react when it comes to his family.

Thus, after the visit from his older brother, Kyler had chosen to continue living by himself and finally trying to figure out what he wanted to do in his life. Of course, he didn't forget to try and investigate the past of his Father Aurel just as his older brother Flake had mentioned.

So, during the next few months, Kyler became smarter, more aware, and sly when dealing with various people. Being left alone and doing everything by himself had quickly taught Kyler the way of life.

Although what he was learning was in order to better protect himself from being caught off guard and taken advantage of, especially after he finally understood the meaning of being the only remaining pureblood siren in the entire world.

And despite how his real race is suppressed, it doesn't change the fact that he is in fact quite smart.

Unbeknownst to Kyler, the Demon Lord Flake had been fighting against a certain young dragon after he caught a sudden interest in his younger brother after that one single glance from the distance.

"Ah, Master Flake. It seems like true love."

Flake rolled his eyes at the swooning demon fox before ordering his people to get in the way of the young dragon. And he isn't doing it because of being overprotective or having a brother complex like his subordinates seemed to believe.

Kyler is in the serious process of his growth, Xaver's appearance is just going to make the situation complicated and confusing again.

"They will have a lot of time in the future. For now, my younger brother's learning phase is more important to focus on."

Especially when karma from the past had just appeared, because Kyler just had to meet the first human that ever received the blessing of mermaid blood. Just as what happened to the elves when they became extinct, now, it's the mermaid's turn to make its appearance.

And Flake doesn't know if he should laugh or cry because the human that received the blessing of the mermaid somehow has become a close friend of Kyler, in which his younger brother doesn't even have any idea about his new friend had the hots for Xaver.

What a complicated love life his younger brother has.
