C99 The Truth of the Miscarriage

The door to the ward opened from the outside. Before they could speak, Ye Xi and three other people had entered the room. Everyone held their breath as the white coats colored their vision.

"Ye Xi, introduce them to everyone, if you will," Mu Shengchen said lightly as if he were talking about the weather.

"We are all familiar with Dr. Shenwen–the doctor from the Gynecologist Department. He was the one who had given Miss Qi Yuwei her ultrasound picture." Ye Xi also nodded at the other two doctors. "This is Dr. Zhang Wenxi, her current attending physician. And this is Nurse Yun Anna. She's a nurse in the Artificial Insemination Department."

Qi Yuwei immediately had a bad feeling as soon as she heard Ye Xi introducing the three of them. However, she clenched her fists in comfort. She had done everything in secret. How could they have known? That's right, they didn't.

"Mu Shengchen, did you call us here just to meet Yuwei's doctor?" Weng Bisa's face darkened, shaking off her husband's hand. She grabbed her bag. "I will not waste anymore time with you–"

"They're all important witnesses." His eyes became cold. "If you're really that guilty and don't want to hear about it, then forget it."

"Guilty? You're calling me guilty?" Her face flushed with embarrassment. "Ning Qianyu was the one who had pushed her down the stairs; that matter has been settled as clear as day. If you want me to stay, then so be it!"

"Sometimes, things aren't what they seem" He gave her a deep look.

She snorted. "I'll decide that for myself."

Grabbing the opportunity to speak, Ye Xi turned to Yun Anna. "If you may."

"Miss Qi Yuwei has sent sperm samples several times," Yun Anna said in a trembling voice. "She wanted to be artificially fertilized, but the success rate of using the sample she had wasn't high. We tried it millions of times, but she still didn't succeed. I've been a fan of hers, of course, so when she asked me to get a fake ultrasound picture for her...I went to look for Dr. Shenwen–a doctor from the Gynecology Department."

"Doctor Shenwen, it's your turn."

Dr. Shenwen stared at Yun Anna for a long time before continuing the narrative, "Miss Qi has come to our hospital for several check-ups, to see if the artificial insemination had worked, but it didn't. That is, until Yun Anna asked me to make a fake ultrasound picture for 50,000 yuan. I agreed, of course, but I knew there might be a problem in the future which is why I've removed all of our previous records with me."

Yun Anna added, "The pregnancy was fake, so as time passed, it becomes even more difficult to hide the fact that she wasn't pregnant at all. She was afraid of being exposed, so she decided to pretend that she miscarried." There was a pause before she continued, "That's why I asked for more people to help–my boyfriend, the attending physician was part of the Gynecology Department. A few days ago, she already had an idea in mind and asked us to be on-hold for the procedure. That way, we could perfect the fake miscarriage."

As soon as they finished, everyone gaped in surprise. If someone still didn't understand what was going on, then they're all idiots.

Qi Yuwei's pregnancy was a scam from the beginning until the end. Turned out, the only proof she ever had of being pregnant was that fake ultrasound picture. Even her miscarriage was nothing more than a ploy to garner sympathy.

A strange silence overcame the ward. No one expected that it would become of this.

"You–you're lying," Qi Yuwei stuttered out.

"Then why don't you find out?" Mu Shengchen sneered. "After all, the Mu Family is incredibly rich. I'm sure they could find all the gynecologist in the country to see if you were really pregnant." At first, he didn't intend to touch Qi Yuwei now. She might be useful in the future.

Sadly, she had made things difficult for Ning Qianyu, and that was his bottom line.

As soon as she heard his words, Qi Yuwei's arrogance faltered.

She and Mu Jinbo had been together for so long, and she had always insisted to have his child. However, he wouldn't listen. Every time he was with her, he'd wear a condom or he'd pull out. He refused to have her bear his child. That was why she had stolen his sperm and took it to the hospital for an artificial insemination. But it didn't work.

When she found that the man had intended to dump her and pursue Ning Qianyu again, Qi Yuwei decided to take the risk.

Since she was familiar with the nurses there, she decided to send 50,000 yuan to the doctor who could fake her record. That way, her plan was foolproof. The money was delivered in cash, too, to prevent any trails.

She was prepared to use this record to force Mu Jinbo to marry her. Then, maybe after marriage, he wouldn't be using any contraceptives anymore. Maybe then, she could finally carry his child without anyone knowing.

What she didn't expect was for him to reject the child!

Even then, she still didn't give up on her dream.

Qi Yuwei knew that the Mu Family would've loved another heir under the name. Even if Mu Jinbo didn't want to, the family couldn't bear to lose their grandchild or their great-grandchild. It was her ticket!

As long as she had the child in her womb, Mu Jinbo would surrender sooner or later.

How the hell was she supposed to know that Mu Jinbo would remain unmoved despite their insistence? Hell, they even kicked him out of the company? When she heard that Mu Jinbo kidnapped Ning Qianyu, she felt even more uneasy.

It was time to go to more extreme matters. If the Mu Family wanted a child, then she'd go for accidentally miscarrying it. The reason for the miscarriage? Let it be Ning Qianyu herself!

She'd get what she deserved.

It had worked for a while. Ning Qianyu became known as the murderer of her unborn son, and every member of the Mu Family hated her with a passion. Qi Yuwei couldn't help but feel proud of herself.

It seemed that she had finally done it.

And now her plan was going down the bucket!

Mu Shengchen knew better. He was the man she had always been afraid off–the ruthless bastard who would do anything to protect his wife. She had thought that she could get away, as long as she dusted her tracks well.

But he knew of her goals.

"I..." Qi Yuwei flushed in embarrassment as she stared at her hands, refusing to look at anyone in the eye.

Ning Qianyu originally thought that Mu Shengchen brought her to see Qi Yuwei, to see how the woman was doing. What she didn't expect was for him to have already found the evidence they needed to slap her hard in the face.

A happy smile grew on her lips as she glanced at the man beside her.

How could she be so lucky?

Mu Shengchen turned back and gazed at her. His eyes softened. While this was happening, everyone around them had reverted back into a shocked silence. The revelation was truly too much to bear.
