Yan Jinyi had heard that the married couple was rather courteous and distant with each other. 

Yan Jinyi casually picked two roses and swaggered into the villa.

As soon as she entered, she saw a young woman seated on the sofa beside Huo Qingyuan.

The slender woman was wearing a long, dark green dress with her hair tied back into a high ponytail on the back of her head. Her small, dainty earrings accentuated the slenderness of her delicate neck. 

She was holding a notebook in her hand, scribbling and doodling on it with her head slightly lowered. Her thick, curled lashes cast a light shadow below her eyes. 

She was graceful, elegant, and gentle. The point was, she was gorgeous. 

Touching her chin, Yan Jinyi smiled sweetly and said, "You must be Sister-in-law, I've heard about you a long time ago." 

Shen Yan subconsciously looked up and saw a stunningly beautiful girl striding towards her. Without hesitation, she held onto Yan Jinyi's hand and shook it.

"You are..." 

Yan Jinyi blinked and answered, "Yan Jinyi, Huo Xishen's wife for the time being."

It suddenly dawned on Shen Yan that Yan Jinyi was her sister-in-law. 

When Huo Xishen got married, she happened to be abroad and couldn't make it back home. She only returned home every now and then, but Yan Jinyi used to hide and avoid others. Hence, they never had the chance to meet each other. 

It was her first time meeting Huo Xishen's wife. 

'She's a charming beauty. Unfortunately, Xishen doesn't seem to like her very much.' 

Smiling gently, Shen Yan placed the notebook on the coffee table and got up to look at Yan Jinyi. "Jinyi, nice to meet you." 

The ravishing beauty before her reminded Yan Jinyi of the elegant heiress whom she had teased before when she was a bandit.

She had always found delicate beauties like Shen Yan who invoked one's protectiveness, to be incredibly attractive. 

"Hello, Sister-in-law, how old are you this year?"

Shen Yan did not respond immediately. With a look of bewilderment, she asked, "Huh?"

Shen Yan's eyes were shaped like almonds. Whenever Yan Jinyi made eye contact with her watery eyes, she would feel an urge to protect Shen Yan. 

She originally thought that all the women in the Huo Family would be spoiled, bratty wastrels like Huo Qingyuan, but to her surprise, Shen Yan was a dainty beauty. 

Yan Jinyi helped Shen Yan to her seat dramatically and said, "Sister-in-law, when did you come back? Why didn't you inform me? I could have gotten the cooks to cook something that you like to eat." 

Seeing how enthusiastic Yan Jinyi was, Shen Yan felt a little awkward. She smiled faintly and said, "I'm not hungry yet. Sister-in-law, you don't need to be so polite, we are a family."

Being born to a famous family of literati, Shen Yan had always been exposed to literature since a young age. Having attended more than ten years of etiquette lessons, she also had poised and elegant mannerisms. 

Yan Jinyi suddenly felt that she was being too boorish and thought that she would definitely scare Shen Yan by acting that way!

"Sister-in-law, are you thirsty? Shall I pour you some water?"

"No need, Sister-in-law, there is really no need to be so polite with me. I'm 27 years old this year, coincidentally, I'm the same age as Zihang." 

Yan Jinyi nodded and said, "I'm 22 years old. Sister-in-law, just call me Jinyi, that'd be more affectionate."

Huo Qingyuan looked at the scene before her in confusion. 

'Has Second Sister-in-law been possessed by some demon?'

'Why is she acting so differently in front of Sister-in-law?'
