When they arrived home, she was surprised to see that the handsome captain of the Huo family's escort team, Qin He, was also present.2

He was wearing an outdoor jacket, and seemed to be out of sorts.

He greeted the both of them respectfully when he saw them enter. 

"Have you accomplished the mission?"

Huo Xishen asked coldly when he saw him.

Qin He clenched his fist and subconsciously looked at Yan Jinyi.

Huo Xishen sat down on the sofa and said, "It's alright, just tell me."

"Yes, we have assisted Interpol in successfully capturing those people, but we lost two members."

Huo Xishen stayed silent for a few seconds before saying, "Send some hefty gifts to their family members."

Yan Jinyi could tell something from their conversation. 

The Huo family escort team not only protected the Huo family, but also cooperated with the police. 

She reckoned that they must have gone on an emergency mission this time and ended up losing two members. 

Yan Jinyi's gaze turned gloomy as she could understand the agony of losing one's subordinates. 

It's especially miserable to watch them fall before you but being unable to help at all. 

Yan Jinyi suddenly sighed and went forward to pat Qin He on his shoulder. "My condolences, take me with you on your next mission, I'll ensure that no one gets hurt." 

Qin He forced a smile and said in a perfunctory manner, "Second Young Mistress Huo, you may not understand our operations well. What we do isn't suitable for you either."

'Gee...'

'When I was a bandit, I've done all sorts of things. If you look down on me, just say so!'

"You're quite an abominable person. I bet you've never had a girlfriend all your life, huh?"

Qin He was dumbfounded.

"Go get some rest, don't take on any tasks regardless of who requests it for the time being." 

Qin He got into a standard military stance and said, "Yes, Second Young Master." 

Yan Jinyi silently cursed Qin He and unlocked her cell phone to see that she had really received a message from Qin Peipei. 

[Qin Peipei: Sister Jinyi, I have no choice, Du Xian is my senior after all. I didn't expect him to have contacted you because of that.]

[Qin Peipei: Sister Jinyi, Du Xian probably wants to become a boy toy to settle the matters regarding his current scandal.]

Yan Jinyi did not reply and simply sent a text to Dong Xu. 

[BanditLeader: Have you contacted someone regarding the mountain that I want to buy?]

Dong Xu didn't reply for a long time. 

'This punk is really bold, huh?'

After taking a shower and playing another game on her cell phone, Yan Jinyi looked at her text messages again to see that Dong Xu had given her a reply but it didn't make sense to her at all. 

[Dong Xu: Sister Jinyi, did Mr. Zhao contact you yesterday? He has been helping you keep an eye on that mountain recently and asked me to contact him last night. However, I haven't been able to reach him.]

'Mr. Zhao? Zhao Xinchen? Isn't his dad interested in that mountain too? Seems like Zhao Xinchen has chosen to be on my side!' 

Yan Jinyi was a little surprised.

On the following day, Yan Jinyi saw Dong Xu leaning against the tree opposite the film studio with a cigarette in his mouth, as soon as she walked to the entrance after wrapping up at work. He seemed rather eager about something. 

'Is he here to look for me?'

She pressed her cap down but Dong Xu had already noticed her and strode over. 

"Sister Jinyi, can you come with me to the hospital?"

"What for?" 

"Me. Zhao got beaten up and his injuries are quite severe. He's been hospitalized, I heard that he got beaten up because of you, Sister Jinyi."

'Zhao Xinchen got beaten up?'

"Sister Jinyi..." 

Yan Jinyi said with a frown, "Let's go to the hospital."
