The melodious sound of the violin continued to play in the background inside Blues Coffee. Although he was slightly weirded out by her words, Chen Zhengchu continued to smile at the woman sitting opposite him.1

Ji Ziming looked at the woman sitting in the chair. She was clearly very ordinary, yet he felt an indescribable concern for her.

When she said that the man sitting opposite her was decent and suggested trying it out, he felt a sense of panic for the first time in his life.

Stab! Ji Ziming's heart boiled with anger. He pulled a chair from this coffee table and sat next to her.

"Thank you." Chen Zhengchu smiled and nodded at the waitress.

"You're welcome." The waitress smiled back with a shake of her head. She then turned to respectfully address Ji Ziming, "Mr. Ji, would you like to have your usual?"

Ji Ziming gave a slight nod and hummed in the affirmative, "Mhm."

"Alright, please wait for a short while, Mr. Ji." The waitress took the serving tray and left.

Chen Zhengchu gently stirred the coffee with his right hand, and, in a seemingly careless manner, asked, "I wonder what relation Mr. Ji has with Ms. Pei?"

"No relation at all. He is just my boss, and we are not close to each other." Before Ji Ziming could respond, Pei Ge immediately clarified their relationship.

Her words caused his face to darken, and he shot her a dangerous look.

"No relation? Not close, eh?" He slightly inclined his face and looked deeply at her.

Pei Ge was slightly fazed by his look and sat up straighter as she raised her voice. "CEO Ji, I'm having a blind date, please don't—"

She had not even finished her words when he arched an eyebrow and remarked, "I remember that we are rather close, though."

When his mouth curled into a devilish smile and he showed an amused face, her cheeks began to feel warm.

The memory of their first meeting at Bar Vista resurfaced in her mind.

In that instant, it was as though Pei Ge's partner in this blind date had changed from Chen Zhengchu to another person.

Chen Zhengchu looked at the pair across him with a calm smile and without a trace of anger.

If this happened to another guy, he would surely walk out. However, Chen Zhengchu just calmly drank his coffee as though he were indifferent to the whole matter.

"Mr. Ji really cares for his employees, it seems," Chen Zhengchu said with a smile before he placed the cup in his hand down.

"Naturally," Ji Ziming replied flatly.

Although one man looked harmless and the other seemed indifferent, Pei Ge inexplicably felt a strange sense of oppression.
