'This is not going to end well.' Naze shook his head while standing behind. And, immediately prepared himself as the moment came.1

"Whoosh!"

The black bag was pulled off of the man's face.

It was someone very familiar to Max.

His father, Zack.

"..."

Max looked at the screen his eyes indeed widened, but he didn't say anything.

There was a pin drop silence in the place.

The reaction that Beli and Naze had been expecting didn't come.

Max slowly turned his head and looked towards Beli.

The moment her eyes met with those cold eyes of his, she felt her entire being freeze in a thick layer of ice. She felt suffocation. It was something that she hadn't felt from anywhere before.

She didn't understand what it was. But, that feeling only lasted for a second before vanishing.

Her back was drenched in cold sweat.

"I can tell you one thing for sure. If anything happens to him, you guys will be the first one to die." There was no killing intent in his voice, but the words were spoken with such a calm that it sent chills running down their spines.

They couldn't help, but believe this guy wasn't lying.

"Second thing, don't think of leaving this place until he is here. I swear that you won't go out alive if you think of anything funny." They were right in the middle of the human city. Just one call, and they would be dead.

"Don't be too early to jump to conclusions." Beli calmed herself down.

She was a leading figure, she had to know how to maintain her composure.

"We are doing you a favor here."

"Favor?" Max looked at her, "Then please enlighten me."

Beli was about to speak when Max interrupted her by speaking again.

"But, remember one thing. You have pissed me off…so please be careful with your words."

Beli's face turned dark. She didn't think he would react like that. If he thought that her words were false, then she would surely be doomed here. It would already be a miracle if she was left alive, much less forming an alliance.

She really didn't want to use this here. She was hoping that an alliance would be formed without her using this card.

"Then calmly listen, I hope you would not be too early to judge," She said while looking at Max and then continued, "We came across your father back when I was heading for the capital."

"It was a few kilometers away from the capital. It was a deserted place which we Demons usually use for moving in and out of the Capital."

"Your father was fighting with two identical looking men. And, they were humans. One of them chopped off his arm while the other plunged his sword through his abdomen."

"Yet, he still fought in that condition before falling down one of the cliffs."

"At that time, I had no idea who he was." She wasn't lying.

Beli was just impressed by his skills. Not to mention, at that time, Max wasn't even recognized as an Edwinson. And, even the Ancient Families weren't aware about him except for Stark and his father, the Lord of Zatch Family.

So, it was very obvious that Beli didn't know Max was his son. Meaning that she hadn't planned any of this for him. It was just a coincidence.

When Zack fell off the cliff, he was taken by Beli. After all, she had nothing against humans. Not to mention, she wanted to see if she could pull him to his side. The man was very strong after all.

But, unfortunately, the sword which was plunged into his stomach had moved up to his chest during the fall from the cliff, going through his heart.

There was no way he was going to live.

But, he still refused to give up. His will to live was strong, something was urging him to keep hanging on. But, that wasn't enough for his body to follow up.

At the moment of death, she could hear him saying, "I don't want to die, not until I see them again.."

His call moved her heart.

In the end, she made a decision.

She stared at the dying man and asked him if he wanted to live at any cost.

Zack was already losing consciousness by then.

He didn't know what was going on, but he instinctively replied with a yes.

Max's face began to turn dark upon hearing upto this point.

"I asked him once again, even if the cost was his humanity.."

"And…he said yes.."

At this moment, the footage playing on the screen showed Zack going berserk. An eerily black color aura shot out of his body trying to destroy everything around him.

But, he was soon forcefully stopped by a few people and once again tied with chains and the black cover was put on his face.

Yes, he given another life as a Demon.

"Since I made him a Demon with my Royal Blood, it is too hard for him to gain control of it. Not to mention, he isn't emotionally stable."

"He keeps mentioning about seeing his family, but we can't let him go like this. He will be killed the moment he causes trouble out there."

She was definitely right about it.

"He is one of us now. I surely don't want him to die like this."

Max for the first time felt so helpless. He clenched his fist, but what could he possibly do?

But, was this girl lying?

"I will allow you to talk to him. You can learn all the facts from him, and I believe that it will also help to calm him down."

With that, there was no choice for him but to believe.

He had a lot of things to settle with his father. But, he never wished for anything like this to happen to him. Not to mention, if anything happened to him, his mother would surely be devastated.

"Is there any way to turn him back into a human?" Max asked her with a serious look on his face.

"What's wrong with being a demon?" Beli asked with a frown, but soon returned to normal. It wasn't time to take it as an attack on a personal level.

"No..there is no way to reverse it."
