116 Then I Die

Delia's POV

"Albert, if someone must die, let it be me!"

Confronting the imposing Albert, I replied loudly.

As I responded to him, I retrieved the concealed knife I took when I left the camp.

Before Albert could react, I plunged the knife into my chest.

A wave of excruciating pain surged through me, and I felt a liquid splatter onto my hand.

Undoubtedly, it was my own blood spilling out.

I had expected to lose consciousness from the pain, but I didn't faint. My awareness remained remarkably clear.

I felt warmth on my neck and, lowering my gaze, I discovered that the blood flowing from my wound wasn't all cascading downward.

Instead, some of it defied gravity, flowing onto my pearl necklace. What had been a pristine white pearl necklace instantly turned blood-red.

"Delia!" After seeing me drive the knife into my own chest, Albert froze for a moment.

When he finally reacted, he released his grip, ceasing the creation of vines entwining Prince Kral and Alen.

He rushed to my side, embracing me tightly.

"I've already lost her. I can't lose you either!"

After holding me, Albert attempted to remove the knife from my chest.

However, the knife was embedded too deeply.

Removing it without a doctor's assistance might widen the wound, potentially accelerating the loss of my life.

"Take Delia back and find a doctor!"

Albert shouted angrily, his emotions so heightened that the soldiers standing nearby dared not approach, and no one dared to respond to his command.

Because Albert had stopped creating the vines, it gave Prince Kral a moment to catch his breath.

Ignoring the thorns on the vines, he exerted all his strength to free himself from their grasp. He crawled over the bodies of the fallen soldiers, slowly making his way toward me and Albert.

During this process, Albert remained focused on holding me and didn't notice what Prince Kral was doing.

Prince Kral took a few minutes to crawl out of the magical circle.

Once he was out of the circle, Albert's magic no longer affected him. His strength began to return, and he finally managed to stand up, though unsteadily.

He staggered towards me and Albert.

"Delia! Delia!" Prince Kral called my name as he tried to pull me from Albert's embrace.

"F.uck off, Kral!"

It wasn't until Prince Kral began to pull at my hand that Albert seemed to snap out of his daze.

He forcefully pushed Prince Kral away, preventing him from getting closer to me.

Prince Kral was now weakened, and after being pushed by Albert, he stumbled back several steps, nearly losing his balance and sitting down.

I felt my body growing increasingly painful, to the point where it was becoming hard to breathe.

However, all my attention was on Prince Kral, and I was deeply concerned about him. I worried that even if I paid the price with my life, he might not survive.

Thankfully, Prince Kral managed to hold his ground. He once again lunged towards me, saying, "Delia is my fiancée."

My vision was getting blurry, but I made a desperate effort to extend one hand, attempting to touch Prince Kral's hand.

"You want to touch Delia? Dream on!"

Albert realized that I was trying to establish a connection with Prince Kral.

He kicked Prince Kral forcefully in the chest, sending him sprawling to the ground. "I'm taking Delia away now, and you'll never see each other again!"

I heard Albert's words in a haze of consciousness. It startled me, and I looked in the direction of Prince Kral, only to find him coughing up blood profusely, the red liquid a chilling sight.

My breath grew even more labored.

I wanted to stay by Prince Kral's side, but I felt Albert carrying me backward, farther away from Prince Kral.

I tried to resist Albert's actions, but in my hazy state of mind, I couldn't muster any meaningful resistance.

I heard Albert giving orders to his soldiers, and soon they swarmed in, seizing control of Prince Kral.

"Kral..." Before losing consciousness, I murmured Kral's name, and then I drifted into unconsciousness completely.

Vivian's POV

After quietly leaving the carriage, I traversed through the forest and followed the path from my memory, returning to the witch's territory, my familiar home.

Although I had been away for some time, my room was immaculate.

It was evident that someone had been regularly cleaning and maintaining it.

My beautiful, plush bed, exquisite furniture, and my cherished dolls, everything was placed exactly as it used to be.

As I looked at these familiar surroundings, I should have felt joy, but for some reason, I felt a profound sadness instead.

During the journey, all I could think about was returning home as soon as possible.

I believed that only being home could provide me with a sense of security.

But now that I was truly home and had relaxed, I realized that my mind had been occupied by thoughts of Alen all along.

Every detail of our time together, from our arguments to laughter, remains etched in my memory.

Especially when he had kissed me so domineeringly. It had been my first kiss, and it was something I would never forget.

Apart from that one argument, our time together had been filled with happiness.

Although I was reluctant to embrace the life in a werewolf pack, I couldn't deny that I couldn't let go of Alen. He was my mate and the man I loved the most.

The more I thought about Alen, the sadder I became. I remember that when I was sad and upset as a child, I would retreat to a corner of my room and cry in silence.

Now, facing heartbreak, my first instinct was to find that familiar corner and sob uncontrollably.

"Sob, sob..."

Just as I was crying profusely, I heard a loud "bang." I raised my head and saw a burst of white smoke at the foot of the bed, something very familiar.

The next moment, I heard a familiar sigh. Then the white smoke dissipated, revealing the unmistakable face of a woman-my mentor, Alice. 0

"Master?!" Suddenly seeing Alice, I was momentarily stunned, but then I quickly realized her.

I raised my hand, wiping away my tears hastily, and then I stood up and ran towards her direction.

I ran a few steps and reached her in no time, hugging her tightly.

I cried out, "Master," and buried myself in her embrace just like I used to when I was a child.

"Vivian, you've grown up, but why do you still act like a child?"

Alice pretended to complain while hugging me tightly, allowing me to be clingy just like when I was a little girl. "You haven't come back in a long time. How have you been living in the werewolf pack? Have you made any new friends?"

I continued to be clingy for a while before finally lifting my head to look at Alice.

I said, "Yes, my new friends have been very kind to me, like Delia, and there's A... No, not him, just Delia!"

Thinking of Alen, my heart ached again. I didn't finish his name.

To shift the focus, I brought up another topic, "Master, do you know about Albert? He's a vampire, and I've encountered him several times. He claims to know you!"

"Of course, I know," I heard Alice sigh.

She spoke softly, "I sensed Albert's return. I have a strong premonition that he won't come back quietly. He's bound to create a lot of chaos."

"Why do you say that, Master?" I asked curiously.

"Vivian, there's no point in me telling you now because it's just my speculation. We can only respond effectively when things actually happen,"

Alice gently smiled at me and then changed the topic. "By the way, have you met your mate?"

I didn't want to bring up Alen, but Alice had mentioned him herself.

Reluctantly, I couldn't ignore her question.

"Y-yes, I've met him," I answered in a small voice, "but I've already left him."

"Vivian, when it comes to something destined to happen, there's no need to resist it," seeing me like this, Alice stroked my head and continued, "Every witch has to go through a trial to grow. By the way, do you remember the little puppy you found when you were a child? You were so happy bringing it home, but the next day, it disappeared, and you cried for a long time!"
