118 I Must Save Delia
Vivian’s POV
I immediately recognized the voice. It was Alen!
Hearing that Prince Kral had awakened, I leaned closer to the small window to get a better view.
I could see Alen standing beside Kral's bed, and there was a doctor-like figure next to him, along with several other individuals who appeared to be soldiers.
Everyone seemed quite concerned about Kral's condition.
"Alen?" From my angle, I couldn't see Kral lying on the bed, but I could hear his weak voice. "Where am I?"
"Your Highness, we are back in the tent," Alen replied.
"You've been unconscious for several days, and the doctor has tried various treatments. Finally, you're awake! Doctor, please come and assess His Highness's condition."
After speaking, Alen moved aside, making room for the doctor to examine Prince Kral.
He also ushered the soldiers who had gathered around the bed out of the tent, leaving only Prince Kral, Alen, and the doctor inside.
The tent was much quieter now.
"Master, can we go in now?" I asked Alice.
"Since Kral is a man, it would be inappropriate to enter while the doctor is examining him," Alice replied, shaking her head, and rejecting my suggestion.
Alice's words made a lot of sense to me. I stared into the tent for a while, watching the doctor carefully examine Kral.
It all seemed a bit boring to me, so I glanced around and noticed a pine tree nearby with some pine nuts scattered on the ground.
I hurried over to pick up a few pine nuts and held them in my hand, playing with them.
I'm not sure how much time passed, but the doctor finally finished examining Kral.
I heard the doctor say, "Your Highness, your condition is stable, but you must rest more to recover."
"Since my condition is stable, why am I strapped up like this?"
I heard Kral question the doctor.
"I don't like being bound by bandages. Take them all off!"
"Your Highness, you were injured by the vines, and you have many wounds. You've lost a lot of blood, and the bandages on you are for stopping the bleeding," the doctor explained. I've applied a hemostatic ointment to the bandages. It will help your wounds heal faster. Please bear with it for a little longer, and we'll be able to remove the bandages soon."
Hearing the doctor's explanation, I felt quite curious. Kral was injured by vines, and it seemed quite serious?
But everyone knew that vines had thorns, and one wouldn't touch them unless absolutely necessary.
Why would Kral do such a foolish thing?
"No, these things will only hinder my ability to move and prevent me from saving Delia!" Kral fell silent for a moment.
When his voice spoke again, it was filled with frenzied determination.
"I'm going to save her right now, Doctor. Take off my bandages immediately!"
Kral continued to speak, creating a noise as he did. Through a small window, I saw him sit up, his body wrapped in thick white bandages.
He wasn't wearing any clothes, and I couldn't see any exposed skin. Everywhere I could see, he was covered in bandages, indicating the severity of his injuries.
"Delia isn't here?" Kral's words filled me with curiosity.
I lowered my voice and asked Alice, "Master, has Delia encountered some danger?"
"I suspect so. Her face didn't appear in the spell circle, which suggests that her situation might be even more dire," Alice said, furrowing her brow.
"Vivian, we need to ask Kral. No, his injuries are too severe. Maybe we should find Alen and find out what happened."
"So should we enter Kral's tent now?" I pointed to the partially open tent flap.
"Let's go."
Before Alice and I could reach the entrance of the tent, we heard the sound of things being thrown inside, accompanied by heated arguments.
"Your Highness, you need to rest now. You can't leave!"
"Get out of my way! I'm going to save Delia, and no one can stop me!"
As I approached the entrance of the tent, I saw Kral throwing decorations from the bedside onto the ground.
The decorations made a loud clatter as they hit the floor.
But even with that loud noise, it couldn't drown out the argument between Kral and the doctor.
I noticed Alen sitting at the foot of Prince Kral's bed, watching the heated exchange between Kral and the doctor for several minutes.
Seeing that both sides were at an impasse, Alen stood up and said, "Your Highness, I agree with the doctor's advice that you need to rest, but I also understand your feelings. If you insist on going to rescue Delia, then I will accompany you!"
Upon hearing Alen's words, my eyes widened in astonishment.
While it was understandable that Prince Kral wanted to rescue Delia, Alen's decision to go along with him seemed out of character for him. This wasn't something I expected Alen to do at all!
"Well done, Alen. You truly are my most trusted subordinate!" Kral's words successfully calmed his emotions.
He reached out his hand towards Alen and said, "Help me up, and we'll go rescue Delia together!"
"Of course!" Alen stood up and approached Kral, extending his hand to assist him in getting up.
"You two!" This scene infuriated the doctor, but he seemed helpless.
"I can't stop you."
After saying that, the doctor stormed out of Prince Kral's tent.
As he passed by Alice and me, he didn't even spare us a glance, clearly seething with anger.
Not only was the doctor angry, but I was also furious.
I had thought that Alen's words were meant to pacify Kral's emotions and get him to rest properly. I never expected that he would actually mean it!
Alen himself was in no condition to go anywhere, and Kral's injuries were even more severe. If they both went to rescue Delia together, it was likely that they'd end up in danger before they could save her!
The more I thought about it, the angrier I became. Just as I was fuming in my anger, Alen was already helping Kral, and the two of them staggered out of the tent.
They were now just a few steps away from me. I couldn't contain my anger any longer.
I raised my hand and used the pine nut I had been playing with as a projectile, shooting it directly at them.
"Who?!" Alen asked warily, looking in the direction where the pine nut had been shot. Upon seeing me, he froze.
"Vivian, what are you doing here? I've been looking for you for days. Where have you been all this time?" 0
"It's already this late, and you have the nerve to ask where I've been?" I said, hands on my hips, with an annoyed tone.
"Both of you are injured. With your current physical condition, how could you possibly rescue Delia? You'll only make things worse for her!"
After saying this, I suddenly remembered that Alen and I were still in a sort of cold war. It was completely out of character for me to speak so easily to him.
With that in mind, I turned away from him, refusing to communicate any further.
"Vivian, nothing you say will change our minds," Kral's voice rang out just as I turned around.
"Delia is my fiancée and the most important person in my life. I will do whatever it takes to save her, even if it costs me my life."
My direction of sight was aligned with where Alice was standing. Seeing my angry expression, Alice appeared helpless. She silently mouthed the words "Don't be angry" to me before glancing toward the direction of the tent.
"Well then, Your Highness, I can only offer my apologies," Alice said and raised her hands in the direction of Kral. She began to chant a spell.
Curious about what she was doing, I followed her gaze and realized she was casting a sleep spell.
It didn't take long before Kral's eyes closed, and he seemed to fall unconscious.
Due to Kral suddenly falling asleep, Alen, who had been supporting him, was caught off guard. The two of them nearly stumbled to the ground.
Alen exclaimed in alarm, "Your Highness, what's happening to you?" He tried to steady Kral with increased effort.
"He's fine. I cast a sleep spell, and he was asleep. He'll sleep at least 12 hours before he wakes up," Alice walked into the tent and approached Kral from the other side.
She nodded in the direction of the bed.
"Alen, let's move Kral over to bed so he can rest properly."
"Alright, sure!" Alen didn't know Alice, but seeing her with me, he assumed she wasn't a threat and followed her instructions.
After they had carefully moved Kral back to bed, Alen turned to Alice and said, "Ma'am, I have some questions I'd like to ask you, but this isn't the right place for a discussion. Could you please come to my tent, and we can talk in private?"
