25 A Strange Girl

Delia’s POV 1

In the car, I slowly opened Kral's clothes, only to find that all his wounds were simply bandaged to stop the bleeding. He closed his eyes and leaned against the carriage as if he were asleep.

His silence made the carriage too quiet. The silence makes me uneasy. I tried to rearrange his bleeding wound, but in his coat pocket I found a handkerchief I had given my father long ago.

I looked at the handkerchief with astonishment. It was placed in my father's room a long time ago as a gift, before I was completely disappointed in him. Although I later discovered that my father had never used it once, I still remember the gift.

But why is this handkerchief here?

I looked at it over and over. I cut out a piece of my childhood silk dress to make that handkerchief. I carefully sewed it on both sides, and there was a dark D on the edge. These are my initials, because I want my father to think of me when he sees this gift.

It suddenly appeared in Kral's pocket. I feel like my brain is buzzing.

'No, Delia, don't go out of your mind.' Kral's life is still in danger.

I don't know what's going on, but it's just the right size to tie around the wound to stop the bleeding.

Kral's temples are dripping with sweat. Beads of sweat covered his forehead, and his thick eyebrows kept frowning in agony. I wiped his sweat with my fingers and found that the veins in his temples were throbbing. He was panting heavily and with restraint.

An indescribable feeling of heartache rose from the bottom of my heart, but there was nothing I could do. I can only quietly put my hand on his hand, quietly with him.

Kral's fingers were often strong and warm, but now he clenched them. I saw the veins on the back of his hand bulging slightly from the strain. Now the heat of his skin was scorching hot.

The headlights swayed slightly, and I squatted in the seat beside Kral, who was lying in the car. Our shadows on the floor snuggled together like tangled vines.

……

The carriages were moving at a high speed. We are getting closer and closer, but Kral is getting worse and worse.

It was raining heavily tonight. The dark sky was pressing down on the ground. The lights outside the vehicle were flickering in the wind and rain. In the shadow of the flickering lights, his high fever made his face paler and paler, his black hair and eyebrows sharpened on a pale face, his golden eyes closed, and I felt as if I hadn't heard his deep voice call my name for a long time.

Alen had changed his gentle and approachable manner. He drove the carriage day and night, hardly speaking, and I knew he was as anxious about Kral as I was.

"F.uck!" Alen shouted suddenly, with a mixture of surprise and worry in his voice.

The carriage came to a sudden stop. There was a sudden jolt, and Kral, who was lying on his back, fell weakly into my arms. I held his shoulder and leaned out the window to see what was happening.

"Alen, what's going on!?" I shouted, looking out anxiously, but could hardly see anything on a dark, rainy night.

"Delia!" Alen jumped out of the carriage, his voice muffled in the rain.

I wanted to get out of the car, but my hand was held tightly by Kral. I looked back in surprise, but Kral had no intention of opening his eyes. His eyes were still closed, but he held my hand with great strength. His long, powerful fingers clung to the palm of my hand, and the pulsing pulse of my wrist was held down by Kral's fingers as if his fangs were gripping my heart.

"Delia! Open the door!"

Alen appeared out of the window. He was wet all over, but he seemed to be carrying something dark on his shoulder. I struggled to open the door as Karal held my hand.

"Watch Out!" Alen said as he put the black object on his shoulder into the car. I looked at him in amazement, and Alen looked at me helplessly. "It was motionless on the ground. The carriage almost stepped on it," he sighed, reaching out to grab the black object's poncho.

"At first I thought it was a wild boar or something, but..." the black poncho on the object was peeled away, and a beautiful little elf-like girl appeared before us.

"What the... ?" I looked at Alen in disbelief, not understanding what he meant.

The girl on the ground had soft flowing light yellow curly hair and wore a plain but noble sackcloth. She had delicate skin and a small frame, and her long eyelashes were folded together as if a baby were sleeping peacefully in a sweet sleep.

She was like a child, but she was also an adolescent, and it was hard for me to tell her age.

"This is weird. Is she human? Why is she here?"

I stared at the girl on the ground. Somehow, the moment I saw her, I believed she wasn't a bad person. I lowered my voice for fear of disturbing her sleep.

"It's impossible. It's close to Lycan's palace. There can't be any humans around."

Alen said slowly, rubbing his face with a headache. "And there is no way she is a fragile human being who can sleep on a dark rainy night."

“Then why did you pick her up?” Since she wasn't human and didn't have the scent of a werewolf, I couldn't think of a reason to keep her.

"I. . . I don't know," Alen said, his blue eyes clouded by a rare look of confusion. "But the moment I saw her, the moment I smelled her, my body just acted."

“So... keep her? Or We'll decide tomorrow?” Alen and I looked at each other and decided to decide tomorrow.

"Okay," but Alen didn't leave. Instead, he scratched his head in embarrassment. "Delia, if possible, could you take care of her?"

Alen's twinkling eyes didn't look me in the eye, and I had to squint and look at Alen, who was standing in front of me, drenched. I can't believe Alen said that. We're not sure about the girl's background yet. Even though I've been surprised so many times tonight, Alen's expression still doesn't make me believe it.

As one of Kral's most important subordinates, Alen is warm-tempered but very sharp and calm. He has always been very alert to potential danger and is good at dealing with trouble. This is the first time he has shown such real softness in front of me.

"Yes, I'll do my best." I nodded, gently picked up the girl on the floor and put her on the other side of the car. Luckily, the carriage was wide enough for the little girl to lie down. I took off my cloak and draped it over her as a quilt.

Alen watched me do it. He closed the window thoughtfully and the carriage started up again.

The Next Morning.

There is an attractive incense coming. I opened my eyes from my sleep, and a pure, elf-like face appeared before my eyes.

"Did you wake up?" The soft voice spreads, my consciousness finally completely awake.

The girl in front of me has a pair of glassy green eyes. She has fluffy light yellow curly hair. The color of her hair seemed to shimmer in the sunlight, and she seemed to be a fairy made of grass and trees.

"Who are you?" I was stunned for a moment.

"I am Vivian, the witch of the Silent Forest."

The girl was dressed in a grey gown with a shimmering thread, a light white gown and a short black skirt. She had long, thin legs wrapped in knee-length gray stockings and strange stones of different colors hanging from her neck. She shook her head at me and pronounced her long name like a naughty child.

"But... How did you get here?" I looked blankly into her eyes.

She lowered her head, her thick eyelashes fluttered, and said innocently, "You picked me up."

"That was a close call last night," the girl said as she picked up her robe and sat down next to me, "I'm drunk and I'm going the wrong way. It's dark and I'm scared," she said with a pitiful look on her lovely little face, "But luckily, you found me drunk. I like you so much!"

She came up to me with joy, her golden curls swaying on my arms like cuddly kittens. I had only one thought in my head: Was She really an adult? She looks like a fairy tale fairy. Witches don't age like werewolves?
