27 Enter the palace

"The Prince! It's the Prince's carriage!" 0

"Your Highness! Welcome back!"

"Prince Kral!"

The carriage slowed to a crawl, and the voices of many werewolves were heard in the distance. Vivian and I lay by the window. Through the glass, a magnificent castle appeared in our eyes.

It is a tall and lofty castle. The dark marble of the castle was solemn and low-key in the Sun, and the Golden Flag fluttered and glittered on the walls. The lycans on the guard towers and walls first saw our carriage. They saluted Kral with weapons in their hands.

Kral is really a popular prince and he is a well-deserved focus. The thought of me being his queen, under everyone's gaze, made me want to vomit like a giant hand clutching my stomach.

"Your Highness!" It was Alen's voice. He could not hide his joy and said loudly, "News came from the palace that the welcome banquet is ready."

"I know," Kral said calmly. He suddenly reached out and grabbed my hand, which was gripping my clothes. The warm touch startled me. "Don't worry, I'm here for you."

I nodded silently in his eyes.

The gates of the wall were opened, the carriage passed the trestle bridge, and the moat outside the wall flowed silently.

Alen and Vivian were in the front of the carriage, and werewolves swarmed the street. Their eyes scrambled to look at me through the glass.

"Look, Look! That's the girl His Highness took from the Red Moon Pack! Our future queen!"

"Your Highness Kral! Do you know her name? She looks so cute. No Wonder You want her."

"How dare you ask the Queen? Your Highness must have the best taste!"

"Oh! Did you see her face? It was as beautiful as a rose in the garden!"

For as long as I can remember, I have never been so eagerly watched. What made me even more uneasy was that the way they looked at me and the words they said about me were actually kind and complimentary. My nervousness was soothed by their enthusiasm, and my cheeks flushed with the joy of being praised. I pursed my lips and gave a shy smile to the curious residents outside the window.

"God, she smiled at me, Moon Goddess. She was as sweet as honey!"

"The Red Moon Pack has such a girl. No wonder our prince is going to pick her up himself."

The carriage passed slowly under the gaze of the people, and the praise came to me like an endless stream of flowers. My red face could hardly stand such praise.

“My people think I've made a great choice,” Kral, who is sitting next to me, says softly. I look at his side profile, the lines clearly delineating his silhouette, which makes him as handsome and untouchable as a statue.

From both sides of the road came the enthusiastic cheers of the people. However, he sat in the carriage and did not listen to them. He did not even look at the enthusiastic shouts for him. His entire body exuded a firm and casual attitude. He was sitting in a carriage, but it was as if he were sitting on a throne. Yes, it all makes sense to Kral, who has always been a dazzling prince.

The flush of excitement faded from my face, and I suddenly realized that their praise and recognition of me was only due to the decision of their beloved prince. There seemed to be something heavy in my heart. It made my heart sink and my breathing became almost audible.

If one day these people knew I was a werewolf who couldn't change, would they still be so warm to me?

'The Royals don't like wolf-less freaks like you! Loser! '

Bernice's shrill voice entered my mind. Her twisted, blurry face came to my mind. I pressed hard on my palm to control my panic.

"Are You Afraid?" Kral's pale golden eyes squint at my face. I tried to put on a shy smile and whispered, "I just feel a little out of place."

Kral's golden pupils stared silently at me, unsettling me as if he were stalking his prey. He leaned down and approached me slowly. Once again, his breath hung faintly around me, until I could see my uneasy and frightened face in his eyes.

“You're only as brave as a squirrel, Delia,” he said with a smile on his face and a soft voice. I looked down in shame.

After a while, I felt warmth over my head. The heat of his palm passed through my soft hair to my skin. "I'm here. Don't be afraid. Hold your chest out."

His breathing rang in my ears, and for a moment I could clearly hear my own heartbeat, but I held my chest high.

Whew! That wasn't so hard.

"Your Highness, here we are." The carriage stopped quietly, and Alen opened the door. The bright sunlight shone in, illuminating his handsome face.

I saw the richly carved gates of the palace wide open, and a long red carpet running from the entrance to the carriage. Orderly maids and footmen lined the red carpet, waiting respectfully for the palace's owner to return home.

I sat in the shadow of the carriage. I was only a few steps away from him, but there was a line between the sun and the shadow, which made us feel like we were in a different world.

"Come on, this will be your home from now on."

Kral stepped out of the car and gave me a big hand. He stood there with a faint smile in his golden eyes. His black hair glowed faintly. The Sun drew lines for him, making him as dazzling as an ornamental marble statue.

I seem to be compelled to stretch out a hand, put in his palm.

He held my hand as we walked down the aisle, followed by the servants, who escorted us into the palace.

“Welcome Home, Your Highness.” The old voice sounded. An old woman dressed neatly in a black dress stood at the door. Her face was serious, and the deep wrinkles at the corners of her eyes made her look particularly old, but her gray eyes still shone with a shrewd light.

"It's a pleasure to have you in charge of the palace, Susana," Kral said, nodding slightly to the old woman, Susana. He let go of his hand and introduced me to Susana.

"This is Delia from the Red Moon Pack, Alpha's daughter, my future queen, and her handmaid Vivian," she said, looking back at me, "Susana was my mother's housekeeper when I was growing up. She'll take care of you."

The gray eyes swept over me, and her serious face was expressionless, showing no emotion. I remembered how Karl had once told me about court etiquette and nodded to her.

“At Your Service, Your Highness.” She was silent for a moment, and I could feel Susana's eyes becoming serious this time, her flickering glances across my face. After a while, she answered slowly.

Susana clapped her hands. Two maids came forward and bowed their heads respectfully.

"Please come with me." Vivian and I were both taken away.

As I left, I looked back nervously at Kral, who was talking to Susana, with his back to me. He suddenly turned around and gave me a reassuring look. Next to me, Vivian pulled at my sleeve. She smiled at me and winked her eyes in a playful arc. I felt something in my hand, a voice of Vivian in my head, "Sister, this is the witch's bell. You can hear my voice without us talking. Ring it if you need it, and you can talk to me directly." I clenched it in surprise, and found the bell tied firmly to my wrist.

Vivian winked back at me, waved casually at Alen and followed the maid. I looked at Vivian's back and sighed softly. She was like a happy child entering an amusement park, while I was nervous and followed in the footsteps of the maid, surveying the palace.

In contrast to the dark outer walls of the palace, the palace was decorated with pure white walls and pillars, and beautiful sculptures and ornate furniture could be seen everywhere. In the long corridor, there are portraits of every king. Many similar faces appeared before my eyes. They all had golden pupils and handsome faces. Their faces are so young and proud, as if time choice does not leave traces on their faces, let them stay in the best years forever.

“Here we are, My Lady.” The maid stopped and pushed open a beautifully carved door.
