30 You Are The Cure

Finally I got tired and lay down next to Kral. Kral lay with me for a while, and then I was held in his arms again. Looking at his face, my flustered mood slowly calmed down. I couldn't help but curl up in his arms, my head resting on his broad chest, feeling safe enough. 0

Walking down the long hallway, Kral kicked open the front door and laid me down on a large, soft bed.

"This is my room, you can rest here. Don't worry, no one will do anything to you that you don't want to do."

Kral went to another corner to clean his body. He didn't look at me. His back was to me. Through the glass window, I hid under the quilt. I saw myself in a sorry state with a towel over my head. My shoulders and calves were exposed, and I could not see his expression as the candle in the room glowed faintly.

"Your Highness, I have made a deal with you, and I thank you for taking me out of the Red Moon Pack. Your condition is that I become your queen. And I will try to take responsibility and not let you down. But I never knew the queen had to suffer such indignities!"

Kral did not speak. I stared at his back and continued, "Your Highness, I will fight for my dignity and my rights later, but I need you to make your point in front of everyone. Suan and the maids treat me like this because they think you don't care about me very much. If you want me to be your comrade in arms in the days to come, you must make your stand clear. I don't know why you chose me. You said you needed a queen. We're not mate, and I don't know why you're doing this. But as long as we're mutually beneficial, I don't care."

Kral didn't speak. He stood there in silence and didn't look back.

“And I. . . I didn't have another relationship with another man.” I don't know why I would explain, but I didn't want him to misunderstand me.

"I can accept doubt, but I can not accept slander." My eyes began to redden, and I began to cry when I spoke.

My fingers scratched the soft quilt. I stared at my reflection in the window.

What a mess, Delia. Why do you always expect someone to be on your side unconditionally? Just as father always chose Bernice, and mother left you, why would you want Kral's protection?

I clung to my legs, buried my head in my knees, bit my lip, and told myself over and over again not to cry.

The atmosphere in the huge room was heavy and cold. With a sigh, Kral held me in his arms.

"I know you don't. Those are all rumors." A low voice rang in my ears. One hand caressed my hair to bring out a warm feeling. I looked up and saw his golden eyes narrow slightly.

"Delia, I can promise you. As long as you do not betray me, I will always stand by your side. You can be bold enough to do what you want to do. You said we were comrades in arms. I think it's a much closer relationship than mate. As long as I am King, you are the only queen.”

There was a flicker of candlelight in his eyes as he stared at me. His broad jaw was taut, like a hunter on the prowl. I saw in his eyes a vague sense of danger and bloodthirsty ambition.

"Aren't you the only Prince?" Kral has no siblings, which means he has no competition at all. Why does he look like there are many obstacles on his way to becoming king?

"But I still need the consent of the elders. Delia, the elders once gave me a fiancee, but I refused the choice that was given to me. You are my weapon against them."

For a moment, I remembered Kral throwing the elder's urgent letter into the fire on the way.

The elders looked after the prince. But proud Kral doesn't like the feeling that his power has been curtailed, and according to royal tradition, an unmarried prince can not be king. So Kral needed a queen, and I, perhaps because I was more in control, was his choice.

"Then why me?" I asked him, puzzled.

There was a flash of darkness in his eyes, his long lashes half-closed, and then he said in a low voice, "Delia, there's something I didn't get to tell you."

He paused and continued. "Have you seen the portraits of all the kings of Lycan in the hallway outside?"

"Yes," I replied, Dazed.

"Did you notice that they all died in their prime?" Kral said softly.

I felt as if I had been struck by a bolt of lightning.

It's always the king who dies young, the only prince, the elders in power.

Something invisible is coming to the surface.

"But what can I do for you?" I asked eagerly.

"There has always been a curse on the royal family. As we get older and more capable, the rage in our blood eats away at my rationality. Every king dies by going mad and doing terrible things. Though I was born a prince, I often mourned the curse. As a prince, I was told to get married early, whether my wife was my mate or not. I hated it. I thought about ending the curse when I realized I couldn't find my mate. But I met you."

"Delia," he said, gazing at me with his deep eyes, "Maybe you are the cure that the moon goddess has arranged for me. You are the answer to everything."

The air thickened. He got closer and closer to me so that I could see my teeth marks on his neck. Even though I tried so hard, I didn't break his skin.

"What do you mean?" I couldn't understand why I was his cure.

"I once found a special scent on your father that calmed me when I lost control. Later, I discovered that the smell came from a handkerchief. Your father told me it was a gift from his daughter. That's why I decided to take his daughter. He just didn't tell me he had two daughters."

I see!

I remembered the handkerchief I found on Kral.

It turns out my father used this handkerchief, but why didn't he tell Kral it was mine? Why doesn't he admit to the royal family that I am his daughter?

Sensing my gaze, he suddenly curled his lips. "I've told you everything. You left a lot of teeth marks on me today, and I'm going to leave something on you."

"What?" Before I could ask, I was wrapped around my waist, the back of my head was pressed against his solid shoulders, and the back of my neck was bitten by teeth. The pain made me gasp, but Kral held me tighter.

"Master, it hurts a little," Kral said, gripping the flesh of the back of my neck until the pain gave me a tingling sensation that forced me to open my mouth and feel Kral's tongue slide across the wound, “It will make you smell like me. Everyone will smell it, and they will know where you stand in my heart. I did what you asked, Delia.”

“Kral, no, master……"

Bang, Bang, Bang!

A loud knock on the door interrupts us, and Kral, frowning impatiently, suddenly gets up, pulls back the quilt, and tucks me in.

"Well!" A towel came up to me before I could speak. "Wipe your hair."

With that, Kral went to open the door to an anxious knock.

"Sister!"

"Your Highness!"

Vivian and Alen's voices rang out at the same time, and I quickly wrapped myself up completely, revealing only one head.

"What are you doing here? !" Kral stood at the door, his face cold and his tone disgruntled.

"I knew my sister was being bullied, so I came to check on her." Vivian had her hands on her hips and a concerned look on her innocent face. She complained, "Those people are really bad. They took my sister away as soon as I turned around. It's a good thing I hung my little bell on her hand, or I don't know what would have happened."

As she spoke, she pushed Kral's arm away from the door and headed straight for my bed.

"Hey!" Vivian moves so fast that Alen doesn't even have time to grab the corner of her dress, so she has to face Kral's dark face alone.

"I'm Sorry, Your Highness, but Vivian just doesn't want Delia to be bullied, so please don't be mad at her for notifying you in time," Alen whispered.

“Of course I'm not angry, but you have to keep an eye on her.”

Kral gritted his teeth and spoke word by word.
