42 Are You Crazy?
Alen's pov 0
I feel Susana's attitude towards me has changed a little since His Highness announced the marriage at a banquet last night. She began to give me the cold shoulder. I felt she was blaming me for not stopping the Prince's decision to marry. In her eyes, Delia doesn't deserve to be our future queen. His Royal Highness should not have made such an irrational decision. And I was wrong because I didn't correct him in time.
Now, I was standing in the doorway of the Prince's palace and I had something important to report to the Prince, but Susana gave me a cold look.
"Just a moment," Susana said coldly, pushing open the door and leaving me with only her back.
Tsk, I'm being disliked. I don't know if Vivian has any potion to increase friendship. I shook the bell hanging on my waist, thinking to myself.
The ladies-in-waiting outside were all familiar faces, and I kept my usual friendly smile and talked to them to ask if there had been anything special in the palace last night.
"Something special?"
The maids looked at each other, then exchanged looks. A maid whispered to me, "Last night, the prince slept with Delia."
"More than that. I heard a loud noise coming from the Prince's bedroom last night."
"I met them last night. Delia was carried out of the bathroom by His Highness."
"Oh, moon goddess," the maids chirped. Their faces reddened slightly. They carefully muffled their voices and described to me the events of last night.
I smiled, nodded, and expressed modest surprise, but a hint of worry came over me. I remember that his Royal Highness was only looking for a woman to carry out his plan. He's not falling in love, is he?
"Alen, what's up?"
Prince Kral stepped out of the bedroom, and the gossiping maids shut up and respectfully returned to their places. Although he still has a serious face, as someone who grew up with him, I can clearly see Kral's happy mood because his mouth is slightly curved. But I suppose what I'm about to tell him will upset him.
"Your Royal Highness, the elders invite you to the Round Table."
Sure enough, Kral's smile disappeared. He looked down. The warm morning light fell into his eyes, but only left a golden cold light.
"I announced my marriage last night, and they couldn't wait to get a hold of me this morning."
I didn't say anything, just looked down a little worriedly.
The Round Table was originally set up by Lycan King. The king will lead the elders to discuss some important matters. Everyone knows that the Round Table is the center of decision-making in this country. But since the death of the last king, the Round Table has lost its original meaning. The elders control the meeting, and Kral is just a spectator. In other words, it is the elders, not the crown prince, who really hold the supreme power.
……
In the south-east corner of the city, which is sparsely populated, there is a semicircle built in the shadow of mountains. The building looks strange, standing alone in the suburbs. No one knows what it is except some of the royal elite. It was a royal temple used for secret meetings.
Through the heavy gates, Lycan warriors in special purple-patterned helmets guard the statue of the Moon goddess. They stood in silence until Kral and I stepped through the door. The long knife in the soldier's hand, which was two meters long, fell across each other and blocked our way.、
“Are you blind? He is a Prince!” Staring at the long knife in front of me, my face sank. I couldn't help roaring.
The temple was originally the property of the royal family, and all nobles could enter the temple only with royal permission. Every important event of the Prince's life would be witnessed here, such as his birth, coronation, wedding and funeral. The lycans believe that only in this way can the prince receive the blessing of the goddess and become King Lycan. But now, after the death of the last king, the crown prince, Kral, has to get an elder's password to get in.
"Even if you are a prince, you must have the password of the elders to enter. We don't know the prince, and we only know the password of the elders." The soldiers' helmets covered their chin. The metal masks were covered with tiny holes for the soldiers to breathe and keep their eyes open. Their blunt words came through the mask with a heavy echo.
"Alen, did the elders say the password before?" Kral said suddenly.
“No, Your Highness,” I said, gritting my teeth. The man sent by the elders didn't give me any password at all. He just gave me an insolent word.
"I see." Kral's voice was cold. He took off his cloak to show his handsome features. The dark shadows of the room mingled with his black hair, and they wrapped around his face. His golden eyes were fixed on the heavy brown gate.
“It seems they have forgotten who is the head of the royal family,” he said softly with a smile.
I don't know why, but I suddenly felt the hairs on my back stand up and I felt bad.
As soon as he spoke, the guards were grabbed by Kral. The armour-clad soldier was lifted up easily and pressed down hard against the wide door.
"Help... Uh-huh. ...", two soldiers were held in the air, whimpering in pain. They put their hands on Kral's hands, which were around their throats Their masks were opened and their knives clattered to the ground.
In the darkness of the temple, the statue of the Moon Goddess watched everything. Kral's golden eyes were red with blood, like lava about to erupt. His thick black brows furrowed, his muscles twitched, and he looked like an angry animal trapped.
Kral's eyes began to redden, and he became more and more angry and bloodthirsty.
The two soldiers struggled in his hands, but in vain.
"Your Highness? !" I exclaimed. Damn it, Delia's been with His Highness all month, and I'll forget the curse on Kral.
Kral looks at his struggling prey with interest. His golden eyes were stained with blood. I can see he's about to shift. His large hands scraped the armor and made a harsh grinding sound. The soldiers here usually wear armor with purple stripes. These armor are enchanted and can withstand most attacks, but now kral can crush them as easily as paper.
I looked at what was happening, but I didn't dare to stop it. Kral often doesn't know his friends from his enemies when he's manic. The other soldiers came at once, but they surrounded us with long knives.
“Are you crazy? !” I shouted, clutching my knife and guarding Kral's back.

Bud's pov
In the temple, the early morning sun shines through the stained glass of the high dome, along the beautifully carved columns in the baroque style, and finally spreads on the white marble floor, forming patches of light. The air ripples with colored light, and everything is like heaven.
"His Highness Kral, is he here?" A calm male voice echoed in the hall. Wearing an iron helmet with a carved purple crest, I knelt down on one knee. "There's news from Alen. His Highness is on his way."
As a general, I was not qualified to enter the round table, so I should not see the faces of the elders in the temple. I can only stand outside the temple waiting.
But this elder was none other than my father, the Duke of Roolison. But in the temple, there were no fathers and sons, only powerful elders and soldiers who obeyed orders.
"Lost lamb," my father said, with some regret, in the shadow of the beautiful statue of the Moon Goddess. He was dressed in a soft white robe, but his eyes, which were hidden in the shadows, were silent and murderous.
I know what happened at the banquet last night angered the elders. It was the first time his highness showed the elders his plan of resistance.
"Why don't you let Your Highness finish the wedding as soon as possible?" I lowered my head and asked slowly.
In my heart, although Kral is sometimes arrogant and irritable, he has enough courage and wisdom. I believe he will make a good king if we give him some time.
"Bud, you don't understand," my father put on his black mask. "His Highness Kral is too young. Without us to protect them, sooner or later he will be consumed by power. He is just a rebellious child. He doesn't know how to listen to us. How can he run a country?" He said slowly.
I didn't understand what my father was saying, but I said what I'd always wanted to ask him. "So, how are you going to convince His Highness at the Round Table?" I looked up slightly. I looked at the white, spotless robe at his feet.
“Ha ha, convince him?” My father smiled slowly, his voice filled with contempt. “The elders aren't just sitting around waiting for their doom. His Highness is too naive if he thinks he can scare us away with a few swords.”
