51 My Father Killed My Mother

2Catherine's POV

My whip went to the opposite side. A shrill voice sounded, the last Bone Wolf was also killed by me.

I took the weapon and stepped on the ashes of the wolves carelessly.

My father will be angry again. After all, I should have killed Delia the first time I saw her.

But why? Why would I save her life instead of killing her? I still hear Delia's voice questioning me.

Her amber eyes reflected my heart like a clean mirror, but she was as pure as white paper.

What a nasty contrast! I tugged at the white scarf behind my ponytail. A tall figure appeared in my heart. I'm not happy with anyone who's involved with Kral!

A loud bang interrupted my thoughts. I looked in the direction of the explosion and sneered. I knew this woman would not die so easily.

The night was still young, and I turned to the sound of the explosion. I was a little curious. Let me see, Delia, what other surprises you are going to show me.

I ran quickly through the trees until I smelled the thick smell of blood coming closer and closer, and a disgusting smell that made me frown.

... It's the smell of Lancaster.

Oh, my father, you did not believe me, so you let Lancaster secretly meddle in the Queen's trials.

I stooped and hid in the dense forest, looking down through the layers of leaves.

Delia was surrounded by Bone Wolves near the gravestone. Her white skirt had become dusty, the wound on her calf was bleeding, and she fainted.

And beyond the wolves, my brother, Lancaster, was wearing a black cloak, and he watched it happen.

Lancaster still wore a black mask over his face, but I knew him so well that I recognized him at first sight.

I do not know how he got past the gatekeeper, but the Bone Wolves obeyed him.

He put his finger to his lips and whistled, and the fanged wolves flooded away from Delia. They bow their heads and make a whimper, a whisper of submission.

He stepped forward and looked at Delia on the ground. He pulls out his sword, which he carries with him, and lifts Delia's unconscious face with the tip of his sword.

"What a pity," he murmured, tilting his head, in a drunken voice, "What a beauty! Why must you be the Queen?"

His sword wanders over Delia's skin. The sharp blade drew her curves. "Here lies the dead queen. Since you are also lying here, then I will help you. Let you become the dead Queen!"

With that, he raised his sword. The cold light reflected in his dark eyes, and the blade of the knife brought a gust of cold wind as it blew the black robe off his body. I frowned and held the branch in my hand tightly, holding my breath. Damn it, my deal with Kral didn't include saving Delia, and I can't put myself out there!

I'm hesitating. Just as I was about to burst out, a golden light appeared on the tombstone behind Delia. This light is getting bigger, and it's covering Delia!

The golden light was like an invisible shield against the sword of Lancaster. Lancaster picked up the sword angrily and tried to kill her again and again, but only the sound of the blade cracking answered him.

He turned to the Bone Wolves behind him, but no matter how he whistled, they showed extreme fear of the light. They lay low against the ground, not daring to raise their heads.

"F.uck!!!"

Lancaster cursed angrily, kicking a wolf on the ground at his feet towards the light. The hapless wolf only had time to whimper. His body became transparent as soon as he touched the golden light. The green flames in his eyes gradually extinguished, and finally disappeared into the light, leaving not a single bone behind.

When Lancaster finally realized the power of the light, he was so frightened that he took several steps back and stayed far away. I raised my eyebrows and looked at it with surprise.

It was like a torch suddenly lit in the dark forest. Behind her, two royal wolves carved on a tombstone suddenly took shape. They jumped off the tombstone, sniffed around Delia's body, and stopped where the blood was at her ankles.

"Ow."

The two wolves howled in unison. Black clouds gradually dispersed, a dazzling bright moon suddenly appeared in the sky!

The valley was filled with the howling of two wolves, and the moonlight shone down on the trees, and all the leaves trembled as they fell. Delia, lying on the ground, is pulled by an invisible force. She floated in a coma in the air.

In the golden light, the moonlight remade her torn dress. Golden lights flowed from each tombstone and converged on her. Those floating lights lit up the whole valley. Like a stream flowing to the sea, all the light gathered in her body.

I watched as Delia's wounds, visible to the naked eye, slowly healed in the golden light. The small cuts on her hands, the bruises on her shins, and, most severely, the bite marks on her ankles, were gradually healing.

The blood was wiped away by an invisible force, the skin at her ankles was smooth and white, and a tiny tooth glowed softly at her feet. I winked. It looked like a werewolf's baby tooth.

Then an idea flashed through my mind, and I looked at the headstone that had first glowed. "Here lies King Adam and Queen Caroline."

This is Kral's father and mother.

I murmured to myself. Delia has already been recognized by Kral's parents? It suddenly occurred to me that Kral had marked her, that she had the scent of Kral on her. That baby tooth must have been Kral's gift.

I see. So this is where your power comes from? Delia.

I looked at her sleeping. In the light of the full moon, Delia floated in a golden light like a goddess in a valley.

The moon sank to the west and the golden light faded away.

Delia closed her eyes, her body lifted by an invisible force. Led by two glowing wolves, Delia made her way through the trees of the valley to the top of the mountain.

Lancaster hesitated a few times in his place, but still chose to follow. I quietly followed Lancaster, and along the way I saw no Bone Wolves.

The two wolves finally stopped at a lake on the top of the mountain. There was a small boat by the lake, and the golden light faded away. Still asleep, Delia lies in the boat, as if it were made for her.

Lancaster followed. He still did not dare to do anything to Delia until the two wolves also boarded the boat. They faded into two golden lilies, lying quietly beside Delia, waiting for her to wake up.

Kral's POV

Once again, I stepped in here.

I've seen that gate before. Many years ago, I saw my father, the great king Adam, carrying my mother, the Great Queen Caroline, into this place, where the royal family is buried.

At that time, in the eyes of others, I already knew what had happened.

My father killed my mother.

He was honored as king by the power of his noble Lycan bloodline, but eventually lost his love for his blessed power.

Is that funny?

As a king, he finally regained his sanity, but only because my mother's blood drenched his pupils. I'll never forget the scene I saw. My mad father woke up in my mother's blood, cried when he saw the body, and then roared and smashed everything in the palace. Finally, he cut himself crazily until the elders allowed him to take my mother into the cemetery.

After losing his wife, he chose self-exile, hiding in the arms of death, leaving me alone to face the curse of royal blood.

That's the last memory I have of my father, a broken coward.
