86 I Want To Leave Kral

The departure of the man in the gray robe plunged the entire hall into silence. Prince Kral's face grew dark, as if a storm was about to unleash. His golden eyes reflected the light, resembling a raging fire about to erupt. 1

"He escaped?" Prince Kral muttered in a low but dangerous tone, looking in the direction where the mysterious man had disappeared.

The nobles exchanged glances, and everyone could sense the rising anger in Kral's eyes, like a dormant volcano on the verge of awakening. They lowered their heads, not daring to answer his question.

"Let me try, Your Highness," Alen stepped forward. With a solemn expression, he placed his sword where the mysterious man had stood before. The clash of cold steel against marble produced a crisp and pleasing sound. But the floor showed no trace, almost making one doubt their own eyes and memory.

"Your Highness," Alen withdrew his sword. His face was filled with guilt as he deeply bowed, "It is my inadequacy, Your Highness. I couldn't find any relevant information."

Alen's sword was no ordinary weapon. Vivian had bestowed magical enchantments upon it with Prince Kral's consent. It could sense and track certain types of magic, much like my and Vivian's bells.

However, now even Alen couldn't determine how the mysterious man vanished from the temple. This could only mean that the abilities of these rogues exceeded our imagination.

It was unbelievable. In the hall, with the heavy guard of warriors and guards, someone managed to effortlessly escape Prince Kral's grasp.

As I pondered the white mist that flashed in the darkness, I saw a pentagram pattern beneath it, and one thought crossed my mind.

"They await my visit?" Kral fell silent for a while, gazing at the glove on the ground, and spoke slowly and deliberately. His voice resonated in the quiet hall, resembling the clash of gold and stone.

The envoy of the Moon Pack, although ostensibly here to present gifts, appeared without an invitation. This was already a great provocation to Kral's authority, not to mention the astonishing duel invitation he made.

Everyone fell silent, their expressions and emotions complex, waiting for the announcement from His Highness Kral.

Kral did not react to Alen's words. He merely bent down, his slender fingers reaching out to pick up the blood-stained black glove from the ground, examining it carefully.

"Alen," Kral suddenly grinned after the silence, revealing a chilling presence, and said, "You don't need to apologize."

The black blood-soaked glove was crushed in his hand. He raised his eyes, and the fire in his gaze burned fiercely. "Let's think about how to use his blood to give them a surprise."

Suddenly, a soundless horn echoed through the hall. The fury in Kral's eyes engulfed every corner of the sanctuary. Everyone realized that a war was imminent.

I sat on the steps, watching everything unfold. When Kral announced war, I vaguely sensed an ominous omen.

After the engagement party was interrupted by this unexpected event, no one could continue to enjoy the festive atmosphere. Even the music played became somber, and everyone wore a heavy burden on their faces.

Therefore, before midnight arrived, Kral declared the end of the banquet. Then, accompanied by members of the erlders and some warriors, he entered the conference room, while Susanna escorted me back to the palace.

The palace at night was like a dormant beast lurking in the shadows. Instead of staying in my empty bedroom, I strolled to the garden to gather my thoughts after Susanna's departure.

I left the crown, pearls, and luxurious garments in my room. I wore a silky nightgown, but it couldn't fend off the cold of the night.

Everything tonight felt like an unreal dream. I sat on a stone bench beneath a tree, watching the moonlight cast a gentle white veil over everything in the garden. In such a beautiful setting, all I felt was exhaustion.

"Oh, I apologize, my beautiful lady. It seems like you might need some assistance," a soft voice came from the darkness, carrying a peculiar tone that was both pleasing and subtly icy. Startled, I turned my head and saw a woman emerge from the shadows in the corner.

Her face was beautiful. Her long silver hair flowed down like a silver river. Her black gown perfectly hugged her figure, enough to captivate the attention of everyone, not to mention her alluring red lips and those peculiar pink eyes.

"Who... are you? Why are you able to appear here?" I furrowed my brow and asked. Strangely, I didn't feel any hostility towards her. She seemed like a long-lost friend to me.

"Haha," she curved her corner of her eye and placed a finger on her lips, gesturing for silence.

"Don't you remember me?" Her pink eyes gazed at me, as if a small whirlpool was drawing all my attention. "I am the lady who brought you the horned cup."

My memories were quickly searched through. She was the wife of an Alpha, the first one rewarded by His Highness Kral. She was the one who opened the box for us. I remembered that slender woman. But my mind was struggling. Could that woman possess such irresistible charm?

The momentary confusion in my heart was interrupted by her words.

"Lady, I noticed the sorrow on your face. Please, you must tell me and let me share your worries, alright?" The woman swayed her waist and approached me slowly, a scent akin to the sweet fragrance of a flower emanating from her. I don't know why, but as soon as I smelled her fragrance, I unconsciously uttered thoughts I had never told anyone before.

"I... I want to leave His Highness Kral." I looked into her eyes, unable to control the words coming out of my mouth.

"Oh?" The woman's pink eyes filled with amusement. She was pleased with what I said. "Why? but today you made a sincere vow in front of the Moon Goddess."

I don't know if it was my imagination, but when she mentioned the Moon Goddess, she didn't show the same respect as other werewolves. It seemed more like a concealed mockery.

"I only promised His Highness Kral that I would help him to win the power. And now I have fulfilled it, haven't I?" My lips were completely uncontrolled by my rationality. As long as she asked, I would truthfully express my thoughts. I felt like a manipulated puppet.

I felt a chill in my heart. No, this isn't right. Why is this woman appearing in the secluded garden of the palace? This is the most private area of the entire palace. How could a guest appear here without anyone leading her?

"Oh, my poor Delia, you and your mother are truly different." The woman completely ignored my struggle, her airy words trapping me in place.

Apart from my dreams, I never knew anything about my mother.

"You know my mother?" I stared at her eagerly. At that moment, regardless of who she was or what her intentions were, I just wanted to know about my mother.

"Oh, certainly." The woman laughed again, covering her lips. Her pink eyes curved, and under the moonlight, they suddenly showed a vivid red hue.

I doubted my eyesight, because when I locked gazes with her again, her eyes returned to a pale pink.

"My dear, the pearl on your neck is so beautiful. I helped your mother find it. To be precise, I lent it to your mother." Her fingers brushed against my neck. Her touch was cold and was unlike the warm skin of a werewolf. With a gentle pull, the pearl necklace left my neck.

I was shocked, my eyes widening, trying to say something, but a force held me in place.

"Alright, my dear, I must go now. I promise you, you will see me again." The woman stood up, and only then did I realize that she was unusually tall, taller than an average woman. Her shadow completely enveloped me.

"Why...?" I couldn't finish my sentence when I felt a cool sensation on my forehead, as if a snowflake had landed on it.

"Delia? What are you doing?" His Highness Kral's irritable voice thundered as he approached us.
