89 Who is He?

Vivian's POV 2

Ever since my identity as a witch became known to everyone in the palace, I have felt like I have become an outcast among them. Well, I was already different from werewolves, but the way they looked at me made me uncomfortable. I felt a sense of exclusion. Especially when Delia and Alen weren't around, the pranks against me became more frequent.

First, my clothes and belongings kept disappearing, and then I would encounter all sorts of strange things while walking down the street.

Of course, sometimes I couldn't understand the behaviors and things of the werewolves either. Now, I found myself staring at a giant wolfhead sculpture that suddenly appeared before my eyes, rolling my eyes helplessly. It was ridiculous. Who would put this boring thing in a corner of the palace?

I continued walking. As I reached the corner of the corridor, I heard some rustling sounds.

My instincts kicked in, and I discreetly moved my hand to perform magic. The runes on my robe reappeared as I cast the spell. In an instant, I moved up to the ceiling in the corner of the corridor, observing three unfamiliar maids squeezed into the corner.

Interestingly, I wanted to see what these strange people were up to.

"Shh, be quiet. Look, she must be too scared to move," one maid excitedly nudged the waist of the person next to her, a smug smile almost falling off her face.

I glanced over, and the huge wolfhead sculpture piled up in the corner completely blocked their view. They couldn't see anything, but from their tone, it seemed like they thought I was scared by that thing.

"Does this really work? Do you remember the yellow turtle shell from last time? It was said to counteract the witch's magic, but it didn't work," the second maid was more cautious. She pulled her head back, as if afraid to see what was happening outside.

"That was just an accident last time. As long as we keep trying, we can definitely drive away this disgusting witch who sneaked into the palace," the first maid expressed indignation.

"I agree. I've heard that a witch's belongings are filled with harmful magic. Nana and I have secretly thrown away many of her things," the third maid at the back nodded in agreement.

So, it was you who stole my things? I was furious, so I decided to give them a scare. I positioned myself on the ceiling like a spider waiting for its prey in a spider's web. Slowly, I lowered my body in front of the three below.

"So, it's you who have been causing trouble in front of me?" I appeared before them, wearing a creepy smile. My platinum hair covered my face, and my crimson lips parted, resembling a hungry vampire ready to feed.

"Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah!"

After a piercing scream, the three maids scattered like released mice, disappearing almost in the blink of an eye.

Are they really that timid? How could they muster the courage to oppose me?

The people here are so strange. I sighed and climbed down from the ceiling.

They are just too timid, and it's so boring. I have explored most parts of the palace, both accessible and inaccessible areas. There's nothing here that piques my curiosity or makes me want to stay.

Except for Alen, with his gentle sky-blue eyes. He's a good person because he often brings me Black Forest cake.

I sighed and touched my face with a tinge of sadness. But Alen can't leave with me. This is his home, not mine.

I arrived in front of Delia's room. Based on my previous experiences, I decided to listen to any sounds inside before deciding whether to go in. Unfortunately, I heard something I didn't want to hear.

"I don't want to know who you encountered or why you were late. I only care about one thing, and that is tonight's engagement ceremony. No one, I mean no one, can make the slightest mistake!"

"Yes, madam," obediently replied the voices of the maids.

Just my luck, I grumbled inwardly.

That serious and terrifying tone and manner of speaking were all too familiar. I rolled my eyes silently. Even though there was a wall between us, I could imagine Susanna's stern face.

I guess I won't be able to see Delia. She's probably occupied with Susanna and the palace maids surrounding her.

I whispered to myself, "I am a lonely and solitary witch."

In the following time, I hid within my magical robe and watched as Delia boarded the carriage, accompanied by Alen's guards, and entered the magnificent temple.

Due to the magic, nobody could detect my presence. So I was delighted to be able to observe the entire engagement ceremony from my corner.

When Delia was led out of the carriage by Prince Kral, most people were simply amazed by her beauty. She and Prince Kral looked so well-matched.

"They are truly a blessed couple. They must be deeply in love," commented some guests as they ascended the steps.

Sitting in the corner, nibbling on cake, I found such statements strangely absurd. I hadn't forgotten what happened before. I was curious to know if she still needed the love potion. But tonight's ceremony was coming to an end, and she hadn't told me her decision yet.

The pause Delia took during the recitation of vows made many people realize that the two main characters of this engagement might not be as perfect as they appeared on the surface. The peculiar glances increased as Delia remained silent. Hidden in the corner, I anxiously gazed at Delia.

She was so beautiful and enchanting, yet she seemed to be in agony over Kral's love, standing on a tightrope of indecision. While others were captivated by her appearance, I saw the struggle in Delia's eyes. For a brief moment, I truly wanted to take Delia away from this place.

Sigh, this is giving me a headache. I want to go home.

It seemed like God heard my thoughts. I caught a familiar scent in the air—a scent of magic. Strange, all the lights in the temple suddenly went out. Alen shouted amidst the frantic crowd, urging them to stay calm. I invisibly stood by his side, wanting to protect him in this chaotic situation.

Alen was a skilled werewolf warrior. He quickly regained his composure and lit a torch. I watched as the flames illuminated his resolute face, his usually gentle and smiling eyes now gleaming with determination. He stood there, gradually quieting the noisy crowd.

Watching Alen calmly manage the situation, a strange and warm feeling enveloped my heart, like taking a sip of warm mulberry plum wine. I had another reason to take him away. By his side, I wouldn't have to worry about things going wrong.

After the composed noble werewolves settled down, they surprisingly started blaming Alen for being too slow in his actions. It made me furious. I was ready to sneak up to that noble and smash a bottle over his head. But as I was about to make my move, I locked eyes with Alen. It was as if he could see me, staring directly at me, his gaze warning me not to act recklessly.

I felt a bit guilty, thinking maybe it was just my imagination. But the voice that suddenly resounded in my mind couldn't be dismissed as a mere illusion.

"Don't do anything rash, Vivian, and stay hidden. It's not safe here." I stared back at Alen, bewildered, but he had already turned his gaze away. His slightly weary voice made it impossible for me to follow through. Oh well, I didn't know how Alen sensed me, but I obediently put down the bottle.

However, I didn't listen to Alen's advice and left. This place was indeed unsafe, but as a witch, I could protect myself.

Prince Kral, living up to his title, easily detected the presence of the individual hidden in the darkness, carrying a magical aura.

After a confrontation, the pentagram and white smoke that flickered beneath the feet of the cloaked figure sent a shiver down my spine. It was a type of magic only my master would use.

I needed to have a conversation with that mysterious person. I quietly trailed behind him, tracking his movements.
