Mu Tingfeng had never thought he would bump into his ex-wife and son so soon, especially in a place like this.

Ever since the day he divorced Zhao Youlin, he had moved back to Mu family's villa. It was not entirely because of the absence of her, who was displeased by the sight of him. Of course, that was also part of the reason.

The major reason was because of Song Yi, Su Qing's official husband. Song Yi was the head of the Song family. The moment he found out that his wife was pregnant, he took his private jet, and flew back to his home country overnight. The couple was so intimate to the point where they did not hesitate to flaunt their endless affections for each other before others. Therefore, Song Yi occupied his humble apartment as if he owned it. Out of desperation, Mu Tingfeng had to return to Mu family's house. 

Before his departure, Su Qing had been kind enough to inform him about the bad news. His cousin's daughter, Mu Wanting's, also known as Tingting, birthday was approaching, so he had to prepare a gift for the princess. Otherwise, he would have a hard time by then.

Mu Tingfeng had thought it over. But, he was not clear about a child's preference. Therefore, he sought opinions from his superb personal assistant, Xia Zhetao.

Although Xia Zhetao was childless, he had several nephews and nieces. Therefore, he literally mingled with the children almost daily, and had a good understanding about the children's preferences. The moment his boss sought opinion from him, he suggested that Mu Tingfeng could purchase a small animal to please the little princess. As such, he introduced the pet shop to Mu Tingfeng.

The atmosphere between the two of them was awkward. Soon, Zhao Youlin returned to her senses and understood what Mu Tingfeng had just said and done. She crossed her arms, and stared at the Husky that was lying motionlessly inside the cage. She began the conversation, and said, "Joy eyed the Husky first."

Mu Tingfeng did not speak. He merely stared at Zhao Youlin expressionlessly.

Within an instant, the atmosphere inside the pet shop heated up. The next moment, Xia Zhetao, who was stuck close to his superior felt an air of hostility between the two. Both of them stood their grounds respectively.

He covered his frightened chest and took two steps back. He sighed to himself, 'Darn it! Someone who dares to fight with my boss actually exists in this world! Who is this woman? That's so courageous of her!' 

When Mu Tingfeng realized Zhao Youlin did not have the slightest bit of intention of back ing off, he frowned. He said with a low voice, "I've had my eyes on it too."

Zhao Youlin was amused. 'What do you mean by this? Does that mean I must give it to you just because you eyed it too?! Who do you think you are?!'

"I believe that the President Mu must have turned a deaf ear to me and hasn't listened clearly to what I've said. I said Joy had his eyes on this Husky first…" Zhao Youlin deliberately emphasized the word "first".

Mu Tingfeng naturally understood the underlying meaning of Zhao Youlin's words. He turned his head and cast a questioning glance at the female attendant who was still holding Joy not far away from him.

The female attendant instinctively gasped the moment she was greeted by Mu Tingfeng's face. 'This man is truly handsome!' However, as soon as she met his gaze, his aura sent a chill down her spine. 'Darn! Despite this man being handsome, he's as cold as ice!'

The female attendant was well aware that she was just an ordinary woman and lacked the power to melt his heart. So, she thought a man with a warm personality would be more reliable for her. 

With that, a mere glance from Mu Tingfeng had easily wiped out a young lady's fantasy about him. She replied with a trembling voice, "M-Mr… Indeed, this lady has had her eyes on this dog. Why don't you look for another one? We have a lot of puppies in this shop. If you don't fancy puppies, you could always choose other small animals…"

Right after she spoke, the atmosphere inside the pet shop instantly turned icy cold.
