The smile on Nie Yunfan's face turned stiff when he received the hint of mockery from his uncle's words. He said in resignation, "Uncle, what are you thinking? How could I possibly fall for my best buddy's wife? Haven't you heard of the saying that one should not take advantage of his friend's wife? Besides, Chen's wife doesn't look like a wild girl."2

Nie Xingzhi discreetly heaved a sigh of relief. He then creased his eyebrows and asked, "If it's not her, then…"

"It's the bride's elder sister. The lady who received the bouquet from the bride."

Nie Xingzhi was aware of An Yue's elder sister. He gave a profound nod. "I remember her. So, the lady is her. She has a decent appearance and is vastly different from your previous women. What caused your preference to shift so abruptly? Is it because you're used to seeing beautiful women that you've decided to date a decent woman?"

"Uncle, how can you say that?! Do I look like that kind of person?"

Nie Xingzhi fell silent for some time, as if he was pondering Nie Yunfan's question seriously before answering him truthfully. After a long time, Nie Xingzhi responded to him with absolute honesty, "Yes."

Nie Yunfan almost fainted. He had been waiting for Nie Xingzhi for a long time and ended up receiving such an answer. He even began to suspect if this man in front of him was truly his uncle!

"I'm not playing around. Uncle, you have no idea how hot-tempered the wild woman was. She could simply get into a fight and behave as savage as a butch. I have been beaten up by her several times before! If it's not true love, how could I possibly put up with her temper? I am not a masochist, after all!"

Nie Xingzhi's lips twitched when he heard Nie Yunfan's description of An Qi before he said in resignation, "Since the lady is hot-tempered, why did you still fall for her? I don't think the young master of the Nie family has reached a state where he is easily content with just any lady, right?" 

Nie Yunfan pouted his lips and mumbled, "I don't know. By the time I recovered to my senses, I realized that I've already fallen for her despite the fact that she is very hot-tempered. What could be done? I've already found myself in love with her, as well as her bad temper. Hmph!"

Nie Xingzhi thought to himself. 'And yet he still denies that he's not a masochist…' 

However… As Nie Xingzhi was staring at the back of Nie Yunfan's head, he suddenly let out a bark of laughter, "I'd never expected you to say something like that. So, do you admit that you've been defeated?"

The tips of Nie Yunfan's ears turned red upon being teased by Nie Xingzhi. His face turned red before he admitted, "Yes, I admit that I've been defeated this time. After all, it's only once and for all."

Nie Xingzhi stopped laughing. His gaze softened as he looked at Nie Yunfan. 

The atmosphere inside the car returned to its silence. The congested traffic at the front began to disperse, and the traffic was getting less congested.

Nie Xingzhi looked at the traffic outside the car window before he blurted out, "Ask your parents to have dinner with me tonight. I have something to tell them."

Nie Yunfan looked awkward upon hearing his words. He turned his head around and gave a glance at Nie Xingzhi before he grinned. "Uncle, could you please switch the date to tomorrow? I have some business to attend to today."

"Some business to handle, huh? Today is the weekend. What business could it be?" Nie Xingzhi creased his eyebrows before he looked like he abruptly understood something. He then asked teasingly, "Kid, are you in a hurry to look for your dream girl?"

Nie Yunfan smiled stupidly before he said embarrassedly, "Not really. Chen's wife, meaning her younger sister, has met with an accident. Her young sister is my best buddy's wife, as well as my future godchild. Previously, I'd been too occupied with my work and didn't have time to pay a visit to her. Today is the weekend. It would be unforgiving if I still fail to show up to pay her a visit and show my concern for her."

Of course, it would be better if Nie Yunfan was able to seize the opportunity to improve their relationship by drawing closer to An Qi. 

He had already received news from others that An Qi would usually visit An Yue at this moment after her work on a daily basis. 

Today is the weekend. Nie Yunfan guessed An Qi would pay an earlier visit to An Yue. By then, he would act as if he had bumped into her by coincidence and that would be perfect!

While Nie Yunfan was devising the plan on his own, he did not notice that the person at the back seat had his expression changed abruptly upon hearing his words until…

"Accident? What accident? Is the child okay? Was she hurt?"

"Uncle?" Nie Yunfan spoke the words quietly and stared wide-eyed at the terrified Nie Xingzhi with his sudden outstretched hand clutching Nie Yunfan's shoulder.

Nie Xingzhi no longer cared much about it. His expression grew increasingly dark when Nie Yunfan did not respond to him after a long time. "Tell me, what had happened?"

Nie Yunfan's entire body shuddered. He was puzzled, yet he still answered Nie Xingzhi's question honestly. "Chen's wife, Yue Yue saw Chen fighting with a man. Without giving it a second thought, she dashed over to them and was accidentally shoved by that man, resulting in an unstable fetal lie. Fortunately, Chen's mother has been paying attention to Yue Yue's health condition. She has been taking care of her health ever since she became pregnant. As such, this incident was a narrow escape. Yue Yue is fine, and her child is fine as well. However, the doctor advised her to rest at home and don't overexert herself." 

Nie Yunfan naturally thought that Nie Xingzhi had been referring to An Yue's child inside her womb. He had never thought that Nie Xingzhi had no idea that An Yue was pregnant when he left Shalnork. As such, how could Nie Xingzhi possibly know that An Yue was already pregnant? When Nie Xingzhi heard Nie Yunfan's words, his expression grew increasingly dark. "Child? Their child? She's already pregnant? What's wrong with your good buddy? He is aware that his wife is pregnant and still allows such an accident to befall her? He nearly failed to protect his own wife and child. Is he a true man?"

Nie Yunfan fell speechless. He thought that his uncle was getting weird as he spoke. "Uncle, why did you sound like you are chastising your own son-in-law?"

Before Nie Yunfan had finished making quips, Nie Xingzhi did something that caused Nie Yunfan to be stupefied once again.

"Stop the car!"

"What?" Nie Yunfan was struck dumb and could not react to it.

"I said stop the car!"

Nie Yunfan had never expected Nie Xingzhi to shout at him, and he reflexively stepped on the car brake.

The next moment, there was a sharp screeching sound. Nie Yunfan's car stopped. The vehicles following behind Nie Yunfan's car also came to a half. For a moment, the traffic went out of control. After the sound of the car brakes, the sound of cuss words rose from behind.

"Hey there, do you know how to drive a car?"

"Are you sick? How can you suddenly stop the car in this area? Are you asking for death?"

"How can you act so unethically on the public road? You may not want to live anymore, but the rest of us do!"

"Rascal, if you want to die, go elsewhere! Don't occupy the space over here!"

The cursing words were each more poisonous than the last. Nie Yunfan's forehead broke out in cold sweat. He turned his head around and looked at the main culprit in the back seat depressively, only to see that Nie Xingzhi's face was the darkest compared to others.
