The phone rang at that inopportune moment. Huo Yunting threw a lazy glance at the phone, and then picked it up reluctantly.2

Lu Zhaoyang's voice came over the phone. "Sir, President Du from Sagacity Corp is downstairs. He's here to see you."

"Do you think I should see him?"

The last time they met, the man had sneered at his wife for being a mute. How dare he visit his company now?

"You should decide on company matters yourself, and not consult with me." When at work, she sounded as cool as a cucumber.

"Then let him in, bring him to Meeting Room 2. Invite him in yourself." Huo Yunting ended the call.

Lu Zhaoyang could not figure out his intention.

Based on their last meeting with President Du, it was obvious that their companies would not be working together.

Why would he want her to personally greet President Du now?

The staff at reception directed President Du upstairs, while Lu Zhaoyang led him to the meeting room. She prepared a cup of coffee for him and said, "Please wait a moment, President Du. The president will be here shortly."

President Du look at her with surprise. "That day — That day, you can talk?"

"I just didn't feel like speaking that day."

She never liked President Du. It did not matter if she was really a mute, but he was being rude when speaking of her in that manner at the golf course.

In fact, President Du knew exactly why Huo Yunting was mad. He never could control his mouth!

After the incident last time, President Du had people look into them further. From the news, he gathered that Huo Yunting had stated in public that he was "pretty close" with his secretary.

After half an hour, Huo Yunting was still nowhere to be seen. Lu Zhaoyan began to worry if this was all part of his trick.

"Please wait here, President Du. I'll go check on him."

She had only just stood up when Huo Yunting's slender figure appeared by the door.

She took a few steps back and said with an air of professionalism, "Sir, President Du has been waiting for you for half an hour."

Abruptly, Huo Yunting asked, "Getting impatient?"

"No, of course not. Please take care of any business you have first, I'm willing to wait for as long as it takes!" President Du immediately stood up from his seat. That Huo Yunting was willing to see him again was a miracle, so he did not mind the wait.

"I wasn't asking you." Huo Yunting said and tuned to Lu Zhaoyang. For the first time since he was injured, he smiled faintly at her.

Lu Zhaoyang was speechless. Was he asking her instead?

This was her job. She would wait however long necessary.

"Sir, please have a seat." She stepped to the side and gestured toward the sofa opposite President Du.

Huo Yunting did not move from where he was standing. He looked at President Du and spoke dismissively, "I only wanted to show you that she can speak. Now that you know, you can leave."

"..."

Both Lu Zhaoyang and President Du looked dumbfounded.

My god, this is an absurd reason to accept President Du's visit!

Lu Zhaoyang got over her surprise first. She was already used to Huo Yunting's intractable nature, but treating a business discussion like a game was still over the top.

"Mr President, I'm so sorry about the incident last time, I didn't know that Secretary Lu is…"

"It's not too late to know now." With one hand in his pocket, Huo Yunting turned and left the the meeting room.

Lu Zhaoyang stood where she was and spoke calmly, "My apologies, President Du, it looks like our president is not interested in your proposal. This way, please."
