Huo Yunting's pen halted before the last stroke of "g" of his name. "Do you want me to make our relationship public?"1

"I'm just suggesting that we avoid going out alone in the future."

She did not want the rumours about their relationship to get out of control. Whenever that happened, her mother would always give her a call, and she really did not feel like dealing with that.

Huo Yunting finished the last stroke in his signature. "You are my secretary. It's reasonable for you to follow me around, what's wrong with that?"

"You're not listening at all!"

Lu Zhaoyang knew that any further discussion would be futile. She gathered the documents and left his office.

When she stepped into the secretary department, all the chit-chatting died down immediately as the other secretaries went back to their work.

"Secretary Lu, have you heard? The planning department's director is in a fit together. A proposal document was sent over to the client, but they noticed a few pages were missing! It's a huge embarrassment for our company!"

Xiao Yu could not help but repeat the rumours she had heard to Lu Zhaoyang.

"The planning department's in an uproar. Director Liu said that he will fire the one who was responsible for the mistake once they were found. Tsk tsk, determined as always!"

Zhang Yang said and smiled at Lu Zhaoyang. "Secretary Lu, you were the one who sent the documents to the planning department yesterday. I don't suppose the secretary department is responsible for the mistake?"

"Even if it is, it would be my responsibility, and not yours. Doing your job is a more meaningful endeavour than gossiping, don't you think?"

Lu Zhaoyang left them and took a quick glance at Yu Man'er on her right.

She looked a little panicky, but she did not get involved in their conversation.

At least she knows to stay out of it!

The last time they talked, Lu Zhaoyang was abducted. Yu Man'er must be getting bolder if she could pretend this had nothing to do with her.

For the entire day, Liu Jiang made a huge fuss about the mistake until everyone in whole company knew about it.

A lot of busybodies gathered around the secretary department to see Lu Zhaoyang being called into the office for questioning.

However, because she was Huo Yunting's "sister", no one dared to reprimand her too severely.

Soon, Lu Zhaoyang returned looking angry and annoyed.

"Secretary Lu, what's the situation now? What did the president say, can we go home now?" Xiao Yu asked her anxiously. It was already six in the evening. They would have left the office already if not for this incident!

"The president is coming here, you can ask him yourself."

When Lu Zhaoyang finished, everyone looked to the door.

Huo Yunting stepped into the secretary department, together with Huo Li, Liu Jiang, and the director and manager of the HR department.

Huo Yunting casually walked towards her. His tall and slender figure cast a shadow on her desk as he eyed the cup of water in her hand.

"Still in the mood for a drink?"

"Why not?" She replied without hesitation and stepped aside. "You want to search my place, right? Search away! Even if I did sabotage the document intentionally, I wouldn't have stayed here just to be found out. If you want to do some futile searching, go for it."

"Haha." Huo Yunting chuckled in amusement. He whipped out a pen and began to twirl it around in his hand.

Liu Jiang grew anxious. "President, no matter what really happened, Secretary Lu is at fault for not checking the document properly! We have to make a lesson out of her actions. How can we do business if the staff do not treat their work seriously?"
