As the fresh smell of body wash invaded her senses, Lu Zhaoyang pushed her hands against his chest in protest. "What are you doing? Let me go!"

"You're so heartless, Lu Zhaoyang. Is this what I get for taking care of you the whole night? The least you can do is repay me with your body."

Huo Yunting looked down at her face. His dark eyes twinkled seductively.

"Let me go, it hurts." She felt weak and could not even put up a fight.

Huo Yunting smiled and said, "As long as you're obedient, I will not make things difficult for you. Stop thinking about getting a divorce. I can think of many ways to learn your lesson, copy?"

"..."

Lu Zhaoyang had nothing else to say. She merely stared coldly at him.

Their faces were so close together. She could see the crimson veins in his eyes.

Abruptly, he came in for a kiss.

She kept her lips tightly pressed together, unwilling to let him in.

Huo Yunting did not force the matter. He moved away and gave her a long look. "Are you now trying to preserve your chastity for him? Isn't it a little too late for that?"

Her chest tightened. She glared at him. "Are you done?"

He smirked faintly. "Never."

Lu Zhaoyang shrugged, wanting to end the conversation. "I'm going to wash myself now. I'm going to be late for work!"

Huo Yunting raised an eyebrow when he heard her mention about work. "I'm glad we have come to an understanding."

Lu Zhaoyang felt relieved immediately. She disappeared quickly into the washroom like she was trying not to catch some contagious disease.

Huo Yunting did not mind her. He whistled as he went to get changed.

Lu Zhaoyang closed the washroom door and suddenly noticed a mark on her wrist.

Did she receive an IV drip last night?

When she saw herself in the mirror, she was shocked. The wound on her lower lip looked even more prominent now.

She splashed cold water on her face to clear her mind.

If Huo Yunting was unwilling to give her a divorce, what could she do to make him change his mind…

Huo Yunting was gone when she came out of the washroom. She went downstairs and found him having breakfast as elegantly as was his wont.

After a few seconds of hesitation, she decided to join him at the table.

Huo Yunting started his meal earlier than her, but when she sat down, he began to eat a lot slower, like he was waiting for her to catch up.

She was not in a hurry anyway, so she slowly savoured her food.

All things must come to an end, including their breakfast. She wiped her mouth with napkin and then heard him speak.

"We'll use my car and go to the office together."

"No need." She stood up, took her bag, and then headed for the garage.

She did not want to arrive at the office together with him. There was plenty of gossip surrounding them already, and she did not want anymore trouble.

Besides, now that Huo Chen was back, she would have a hard time explaining to him if he found out about the gossip.

The thought of Huo Chen in his handsome military uniform made her heart melt.

Huo Yunting watched her leave without a word. He smiled coolly and then headed out as well.

When Lu Zhaoyang was at the office, she threw herself into her work. That was the only way to prevent herself from thinking about Chen, and about Huo Yunting's violent treatment.

Last night was a nightmare.
