Indeed, Huo Yunting was the reason Mo Shan could not get a normal job.1

The situation finally forced his hand to make her pay back for all the things she had done. She paid back in full and then some!

A month later, Huo Yunting had a rare moment of focusing on his work when he received a call from the sanatorium.

The person spoke on the phone with uncontained jubilance.

"Mr Huo, your mother has been doing very well recently. Her condition has stabilized and she is ready to be discharged. I believe that with the company of her loved ones will help her immensely!"

"Really? Wonderful, wonderful! I'll be right there!"

Huo Yunting took a second to absorb the news but he was overwhelmed with joy.

He immediately made his way out and met Huo Li at the elevator.

"Brother Ting, you look as dashing as…"

Huo Yunting interrupted his daily flattery and said, "You, get a private house ready. Find one in a good neighbourhood and hire a few professional caretakers. My mum is moving in!"

"Madam is being discharged? F*cking f*ck, that's terrific! I'll get to it right away!"

Huo Li entered the elevator with him. He noticed how Huo Yunting was suppressing the excitement he was feeling right then and felt happy for him.

Madam was Huo Yunting's weakness and his most important family member. If she could recover, then perhaps he would feel less pressure and less vindictive of his own family.

He would also have one less obstacle between him and Lu Zhaoyang.

"Brother Ting, your good mood makes you look much more handsome!"

Huo Yunting was too pleased to be annoyed by his antics.

He drove speedily to the sanatorium. It had been a long time since he sped on the streets. He was very excited to see his mother.

The last time he visited, his mother nearly lost her mind because of Xue Yuming's tactics.

To think she could recover so quickly in just two months' time!

Perhaps the old hag had been doing things to his mother since a long time ago…

After parking his car, Huo Yunting almost ran to his mother's room. Inside, he saw that Qiu Ran was already dressed comfortably and tidily. Her cheeks were a little sunken but she looked much better overall.

"Mum." He stepped into the room, held her by her arms, and looked at her closely, taking in every detail.

Qiu Ran patted his arm lovingly and said gently,"I'm fine, don't worry."

She looked refreshed and clear-headed. Finally, Huo Yunting was able to relax. 

"Thank you for taking care of me for so long and making time to see me despite your busy schedule," Qiu Ran held his hand and said. "I can finally leave now, after spending so much time here. Staying here reminds me of those terrible…"

"Stop dwelling on bad thoughts. I'm here to bring you home, to our home."

Huo Yunting interrupted her to stop her from revisiting her darker memories.

On the way home, Qiu Ran sat quietly in the back and took in the view outside with mixed feelings.

She could not remember the last time she enjoyed the scenery outdoors.

Huo Yunting did not stop throwing occasional glances at her throughout the drive.

She looked serene and at peace. There was no sign of the more extreme emotions that she had shown in the past.

He was grateful for not giving up on his mother, and thankful that his mother was able to overcome her illness.

She would recover fully soon enough.
