"I need to go to the washroom," mumbled Zhaoyang as she placed her glass down. She went to reapply her makeup and the moment she exited the washroom, Huo Yunting was there leaning against the white wall with ancient Greek sculptures. A lighted cigarette was pinched between his fingers.

The thin layers of smoke made the devil look even more mystifying. Lu Zhaoyang realized only after she walked straight towards him.

"Why are you here?"

"Looking for my dance partner."

"Sorry, I can't. I came with my boss. Try looking for someone else."

I'm so taking that cigarette away from his finger. It's either very good news or very bad news whenever he smokes. And obviously he is not in a good mood.

"Have you forgotten about your identity?" Muttered Huo Yunting, rubbing the cigarette at the plate nearby as he pinched her chin instantly, "Lu Zhaoyang, don't you forget that you are here to repay me and the debts are growing!"

"I have not. Don't you worry. But can you just hold your horse, Ares? We can talk, you can even get us a room. I'll be waiting." She pinched between her eyes, "It's just a dance, Huo Yunting. How long can that be? I'll be with you for the rest of the night, you can dance as long as you want then."

"And you thought I'll agree to that?" Where in the world do you think you have the credits to bargain? 

"I do not mean to bargain. I'm just trying to communicate."

Huo Yunting loosened his grip as the corner of his eyes spotted the incoming guest. He swung and sauntered outside, "Do I look like a Mr.Yes to you?" 

"You might not be a Mr.Yes, but you are certainly someone who can communicate with people," said Lu Zhaoyang who promptly followed him. What a compliment she made. Huo Yunting could not feel the sense of being buttered up at all.

And they acted as if they did not know each other the moment they got back to the lobby, separating ways into the crowd.

Nevertheless, her words put out the rage inside him. He was still unhappy seeing her dancing with some other man though.

President Xiang studied their expressions while chatting with a guest. His eyes glowed with a kind of indecipherable feeling.

Lu Zhaoyang returned to him and almost immediately after that, the host and hostess debuted under the dazzling spotlight as the wife, under the escort of her loving husband, walked towards the center of the hall in joy.

That's how a husband and wife should look—unlike me and Huo Yunting—we probably will never stand even under the sunlight, let alone a spotlight like this… 

Zhaoyang thought as her eyes went to Huo Yunting who was drinking in the corner alone and showing zero response to the complimenting guest nearby. 

He was quite cheerful at first till Zhaoyang showed up with another man… 

He gargled a glass of wine—a painful sight for Zhaoyang to behold.

Maybe I should leave…

Zhaoyang reasoned as she turned to the president, "President Xiang, I did not sleep well last night so I don't think I have the stamina to do this dance with you. At least we have sealed the contract deal. I'll go back to the hotel first." 

"Alright," said President Xiang. 

Lu Zhaoyang gave the empty glass to the waiter and left the hall hurriedly as she typed Huo Yunting a message:

[Omw to Quinto Lakeview. Enjoy the rest of the night.]

She walked out of the gigantic metal gate surrounding the exquisite mansion and took a look at the scenery faraway. The bright crescent hung upon the air as it formed a beautiful reflection on the crystal-clear water of the lake. However, there was hardly any star. 

Right when she chose her location on the Uber app, she heard footsteps behind.

It was Huo Yunting. 

Pupils shrunk in her eyes as the man announced, "What a coincidence. I'm staying at Quinto Lakeview Hotel too. Come with me."
