It seemed that Huo Yunting's words had magic; when he said that he wanted a child, he got it.2

Lu Zhaoyang finally could feel the baby kicking her as she slowly caressed her belly.

Having this baby was a mistake. She knew that she should not keep it, but she also could not bear to kill her own baby.

She did not know if she could still see again. How would she take care of the baby?

It was as if she was out of the frying pan into the fire, Lu Zhaoyang felt that she must have offended God in her past life. If not, why would life be so tough on her?

Suddenly, she felt a pair of warm hands wrapped around hers and heard the heartwarming voice of Huo Chen saying, "You don't have to be dilemmatic, just follow your heart and keep the baby if you want."

Lu Zhaoyang exhaled and pinched her glabella, feeling weak. "Look at me, I cannot take care of a baby in this condition. I don't want anything to happen to the baby." Had she been able to see, she would have chosen to keep the little life no matter how difficult the future held.

"Yang Yang, I know what you are worried about. But it is okay; if you cannot see, I will be your eyes and hands." Huo Chen did not wish to see her living in a dilemma. If she wanted it, she could have it. He gently stroked her hair with her free hand. "Keep the baby. You still have me."

What Huo Chen said shocked Lu Zhaoyang beyond words. His reaction was so unregretful.

Huo Chen, irrespective of right or wrong, had always been treating her so well.

"Chen, I do not know what to say." Why did he treat her so well? Lu Zhaoyang was touched and feeling undeserved. But she had nothing to give him in return.

"Don't say anything. It is decided. The baby will be cute like you." By encouraging Lu Zhaoyang to keep the baby, Huo Chen had essentially put a full stop to their relationship. The appearance of the baby meant that he would have no hope to be together with Lu Zhaoyang. It was better off for him to perish the thought now.

But he also had his selfish agenda; since the existence of the child was a little awkward, Yang Yang would not go back to the country so soon. He wanted to spend more time with her; the longer, the better.

"You must take care of your diet from now on. Not just for you but also for the baby," Huo Chen reminded.

"Mhm!" Lu Zhaoyang had made up her mind. She had finally opened up herself to reality and wiped away the tears in her eyes.

Baby, your daddy is not here, and mommy cannot see, but I promise that I will protect you with all my life, Lu Zhaoyang said in her heart. Pregnancy was both happiness and agony for women.

Lu Zhaoyang was not physically tough, and her gestational response became more and more apparent with time.

She was fortunate to have Huo Chen by her side, taking care of her. She did not have to worry about anything. Gradually, she started to regain her weight; her skinny face became more plump, and she looked in the pink of health.

The feeling of watching her belly growing bigger day by daywas terrific. The most common thing she did every day was to talk to her baby.

Lu Zhaoyang was filled with maternal love, and she became gentler and more patient. The coming of the little life had squashed the fear and helplessness of losing her vision.

She hoped that the child would be as smart as the father, but do not be as stupid as she was. If the child looked like Huo Yunting, it would be a disaster.

From the initial worry, Lu Zhaoyang had become more hopeful as she looked forward to the birth of the child.
