"So, don't you forget!" Wen He would never agree to it. Both of them owed the boss too much. They had sworn to protect Bai at all cost!1

Qin An turned his head and gazed at both Ol' Jiu and Wen He before picking up his gun and pulling the trigger.

"UGH!" 

The bullet was struck on Ol' Jiu's knee as he fell to the ground kneeling with blood oozing out of the open wound. 

"Now. Can we have a moment with you, sir?" Inquired Qin An once again, looking into Lu Bai's eyes as he reloaded and aimed at Chen Jiu. 

It was clearly going to be a blind shot and Lu Bai knew that the likelihood of it going through Ol' Jiu's heart was very high.

The well-dressed man pulled the hammer and wrapped his fingers upon the trigger. He gave a final leer. 

"Alright, alright! I'll talk!" Shouted Lu Bai. 

Qin An smirked as he withdrew his gun. He beckoned to Lu Bai. 

Wen He, upon seeing the bodyguard keeping his weapon, dashed towards Chen Jiu but the other bodyguards swarmed upon her with two muzzles aiming at Chen Jiu. Her option for a hit-and-run had been sealed!

Her eyes were blurred by the rain.

Why can't I do anything right? Wen He, your brother is just in front of you yet you couldn't do a thing! 

She thought while watching Lu Bai enter the car with Qin An. Lu Bai stopped by the door and gave Chen Jiu a glance, who was pale and bleeding at the truck. He might die at this rate.

"So, how may I address you, sir?" Initiated Qin An, "Was it Mr. Lu or ... "

"Mr. Ma?" He smiled.

"Are you under Xiang Jinxi?" Lu Bai remembered Yan Se's words at one point regarding this mysterious man. 

"Brilliant, Mr. Lu. I had been hearing stories about you getting involved with Thunderbolt Corp. lately and it seemed to us that you were pretty close with their former head secretary, Miss Lu too. Therefore I hereby request you to do something for us. It's just something really simple. Once it's done, your vocal comrade will return to you in one piece, promise." 

"What if I disagree?"

"I'll apologize on my behalf then." Qin An smiled wryly, "We will kill two if one isn't enough to convince you."

Obviously he must agree to the deal. It was already threatening enough when Ol' Jiu was on the wager.

"Fine. I'll do it." Their safety was his priority too. They would find a way out later. 

"Okay, now the boy has agreed to do it. So, what the hell are you guys waiting for? Your hostage is bleeding! Take him to the hospital for Pete's sake!" Wen He said loudly to the masked men around her. 

"Wen He, you are the kindest angel ever. If I survived through this, I'll marry you for sure!" Ol' Jiu spoke slowly as his face turned pale. His lips were dry even on such a rainy day. 

"Shut up. For f*ck's sake you're dying!" If it was not Ol' Jiu and Lu Bai they had captured, she would have launched all her bullets at these men. 

"..." Chen Jiu started losing his sight as he lost focus. Lu Bai was walking towards him. There was a glow around him—It felt as if he was going to heaven.

It felt familiar—like the time when Huo Yunting struck him down. 

"Give us back the man!" Wen He shrieked at Qin An. 

"If you want your man to live, you better get lost now or I'll get you too." The man did not agree. His expression was stern as his attitude. 

"What did you s-" Wen He was going to beat the man up but Lu Bai dragged her away. 

The cars left and Wen He exhaled furiously while crossing her arms.

The operation was a total failure thanks to those meddling men.

"What is the deal? Who's that man?" Said Wen He, trying to hold back her disappointment.

"Don't worry. Ol' Jiu will be alright. I had stalled them successfully."
