Xiang Jinxi and Chen Jiu fired at each other. Chen Jiu was shot in his abdomen while Xiang Jinxi was fortunate enough to only have his arm cut. 

Blood oozed out of Chen Jiu's wound and wetted his shirt as he covered Lu Bai, shouting, "Go!" 

It's me who got Bai and Wen He into this. That's it. I'm seeing Boss tonight. 

The shots they made triggered a shower of bullets from Jinxi's bodyguard as Jiu became the target dummy being shot into a beehive.

His face was covered in blood as he felt his life fading away. He took one final breath and lifted his arms while screaming. 

Yan Se was loading his rifle on the tree as her crosshair moved along with Lu Bai. It was terrifying to see three men aiming at Lu Bai as she pulled the trigger. 

That was the first time she ever felt nervous using a gun. 

C'mon, Lu Bai, be safe!

Pleaded Yan Se in her head. 

At that critical moment, Lu Bai and Chen Jiu were aiming at the other two. 

Three gunshots were made simultaneously as three men fell onto the ground—with Chen Jiu. 

Lu Bai felt his world blurring out as tears welled up in his eyes upon seeing the fallen man before him. The man was smiling in relief and that was all the reason on why Lu Bai must not let Old Jiu die! 

Ol' Jiu must not be sacrificed for nothing! 

Right at the moment when Xiang Jinxi fired another bullet through Ol' Jiu's chest, Lu Bai rubbed his eyes and tumbled beyond the walls, escaping that accursed manor! 

Xiang Jinxi's face was still as he viewed the man soaked in blood on the ground. He had made quite a number of shots in the past minute and it would take one last shot to take Ol' Jiu's life. 

Hmph! Jinxi sneered.

Not even the great Goddess of Mercy could save him this time.

"Useless scum, can't even handle a single man for me!" Xiang Jinxi looked at his bodyguards disapprovingly, "Get rid of him!" He turned away while tossing his gun to the ground with blood streaming down his left arm, though he did not care at all in the slightest.

Qiu Jin had been anticipating him in the living room as he stormed half-stumbling into the room. She grabbed him quickly.

"I'll bandage you." She rushed to the kitchen for the first-aid kit as Xiang Jinxi promptly unbuttoned his shirt and fell onto the sofa. 

Qiu Jin carefully placed a bit of cotton on the scalpel to clean his wound.

It was a scratch, luckily. The bullet merely slid through his arm. It was not that bad.

"You have always been alright all this while. And ever since that Lu Zhaoyang came back, you changed, why?" She said after having the wound cleaned up. 

"Nah, I just don't want the game to end so soon. Not just yet," said he coldly. 

"Okay, whatever you say." Qiu Jin bound up his wound, confused, "Sleep early tonight. Let things go for now. If you want the game to last longer, be patient."
