783、What about MY loss?

The general never intended to face Sha Kang and the other enemies up front. He sent out his ambushing team, lured the enemies into his armory and gave a mixed signal about his fatal "mistake" of exposing his base. 1

Once the enemies charged into the area, he pressed the red button at his control.

The place blew up in an atomic manner with a gigantic column of a mushroom shaped smoke clouding the area. 

Sha Kang had lost most of his men and retreated gracelessly to his secret base. Without his leadership, the other teams turned into a messy commotion as they scurried to different places, only to be hunted down by Huo Chen's soldiers.

"Sir!" Song Shou greeted Huo Chen who was standing expressionlessly next to the map.

"Any news?" Huo Chen was monotone as he asked. 

"No, sir."

Huo Chen dimly lowered his eye lids as he heard this, "Carry on. Get him back, dead or alive."

"Yes sir!" Song Shou bowed courteously and was about to turn away but stopped as he remembered something else, "By the way, sir, the upper is very satisfied with the operation this time. A majority of the organization in the Golden Triangle has been annihilated, leaving Sha Kang and other leaders vulnerable. It will take a long time for them to recover. There should be no more incident in Golden Triangle now. Therefore the head feels that perhaps we could stop now." 

"Stop?" Huo Chen was baffled at his words as he spat indifferently, "Not. Just. Yet." 

"But…" Song Shou froze and wondered how he should phrase the report in the least offensive way. He continued on, "According to the head commander, the military of Country T does not seem keen on us getting Sha Kang. The casualties and losses on our side are negligible. It's a perfect operation regardless, sir."

Huo Chen was quiet for the next moment. He turned back and stared at Song Shou. Huo Chen's eyes glowed under the dimly lit room, "The military might have not suffered any loss. But what about MY loss?" He muttered.

"Yes, sir?" Song Shou did not get it.

"Nothing." Huo Chen held back his agony as he took a deep breath and closed his eyes. His tone calmed down, "Inform the head commander. I am not retreating if Sha Kang is not confirmed to have been eliminated." 

Before Song Shou could speak, he added, "Haven't we captured one of his men? Start the interrogation now!" 

"Yes, sir." Song Shou nodded.

Huo Chen nodded approvingly with a bloodthirsty glare, "I don't care what'll happen to him. By hook or by crook, make him tell where Sha Kang is." 

"Yes, sir!" Song Shou exited the room. It took a few times of beating up, threatening, appealing to emotion and bribery to make the man speak. 

There apparently were a few locations. 

Huo Chen then sent out his scouts to inspect the locations and in no time the secret base got discovered!

"Everyone, follow me!" He shouted, "Attack!" 

"Yes, sir!" They marched deep into the woods as they blended in flawlessly with their camouflage.

Within the dense leaves, they spotted a small building among the hills where a few suited bodyguards stood at the gate.

Huo Chen did not launch an open attack. He instead beckoned his army to surround the area cautiously.

"Fire at will."

A gun was shot after he calmly said those words through the communicator.
