Wen He then spent the next two days at home, taking a break from her dancing career as she got herself indulged in some sitcom from America, about a snobbish theoretical physicist having zero knowledge of living. It was relaxing as she got up sometimes to cook herself a meal. Nevertheless, as heaven forbid, her fridge went empty. She had to head out for food. 

Right when she opened the door, a shadow raided her. She tried pushing it away and it turned out that it was a finely sculptured waist she recognized. 

"..." In her bewilderment, Wen He watched the man lifting his head in her embrace.

Her eyes enlarged. She could not believe that it was really Huo Chen. 

She pulled a grim expression after withdrawing her astonishment as she pushed the heavy man further away from her. "Mr, Huo, what is the issue of you standing before my house, may I ask?" She spoke impatiently, "If you're going to do that 'You are Wen He' crap again, you can leave now. I'm not wasting my beauty sleep on you." 

"What is this?" She took a sniff. A strong smell of alcohol swarmed upon her nose. 

He's drunk?

"Wait!" Huo Chen tried standing up straight and held the shutting door. The top of his shirt was unbuttoned as he panted, exuding a mature charm different from his usual military outfit. He still looked ever-calm and rational despite looking flushed. "I'm here—to give you an answer."

"What?" Wen He frowned.

"Can we talk about this inside?"

"No." Wen He rejected. 

Huo Chen pressed his lips, trying to hold back his overwhelming feelings, "Wen He, I'll just be here to talk to you for once. And after that, I'll respect your thoughts. Any thought, even if it includes the wish of never seeing me again!" 

"..." She bit her lips while backing away as she hid away her emotion.

She walked a few steps and turned to give a ferocious stare, "I told you I am Karina!" 

"Mhm."

He could not help but smile at the sight as the aggression reminded Huo Chen of her old self—even if it lasted for just a second. 

He gave a nod of cooperation before walking in, taking a look around the living room furnished in a poetic style, as he sat onto the yellowish white sofa. His eyes shook as he tried looking at Wen He directly opposite. 

"Am I not getting tea?" 

"Mr. Huo, please show some awareness of your identity here today. You are not a guest I've invited." 

Ugh! This man! How can he be so goofy when he's always calm?

And why can I never be calm whenever I face him!? 

I promised myself to be ever-indifferent to everybody, including Huo Chen. And look at what I've done?

"Alright…" Huo Chen sighed helplessly.

"Okay, so what's up?" Asked Wen He after taking a deep breath. 

Huo Chen's hands tightened as they gripped his thighs. There were all sorts of feelings rolling under the thin lining of his icy eyes.

It took them a few minutes of anticipation in silence before he finally mustered every piece of strength to say his words. 

"Wen He, do you want to be with me? Not a play, not a game. Seriously attached to each other." 

The line struck Wen He into silence as it sent her back months back when she once dreamed of hearing such a line from this man. All the while feeling hopeless as she knew deep down her dream would never come true.

And yet the confusion was stronger than her surprise.

She even thought if Huo Chen was too drunk to talk straight, as she stared at him in disbelief. The man was cool as ice, nonetheless.

"Mr. Huo, I think you're drunk as none of your words make sense!"
