He returned the favor like a man he is, after all. He acts like my guardian." 

"I see." Gu Jinzhi nodded while acting as if he was Columbus when he first discovered America.

"So this is a story about a relationship between a saint and a shameless whor-"

"Gu Jinzhi, can you watch your mouth for once?" 

"Well, you've been watching over me too…" He pondered carefully, "So, does that make us Mr. Yes and Mother Theresa?" 

"Pfft." Wen He pinched her brows. 

"You're just an asshole." 

What kind of Mr. Yes are you? The only time you said 'yes' is when I asked insults from you. 

Gu Jinzhi giggled gently and innocently like a child. It sounded neither degrading nor condescending to Wen He's ears. It was refreshing to see Gu Jinzhi behaving as such that she felt much relieved than before.

"Gu Jinzhi, well, I got to say, it's great to have known you." For some reason, Wen He decided to state that.

Gu Jinzhi was so shocked that he nearly coughed in a barrage, "Don't tell me, you've fallen for me?" 

"Get lost." 

I'm just trying to have a moment being a sane and sorted human being. Thank you.

If Huo Chen never came for us, I don't mind dying first. 

But if it will cost Gu Jinzhi's life while I survive this, I'll never be able to forgive myself for this. 

"..." Gu Jinzhi was stupefied, that he began coughing loud as he tried to speak, which drove Wen He immediately crawling towards him but the shaking car shocked her back to her former position. 

Gu Jinzhi finally replied, "I'm fine, it's just my throat feels funny. Don't worry."

At least we aren't fully buried that we can't breathe. 

Wen He knew what the man said was wishful thinking. It was painful to watch an ally of hers falling apart yet she could do nothing. 

Gu Jinzhi's brows furrowed as if sensing the agitation in her, "So, Wen He, interested in my life story too?"

"Sure." Wen He felt pumped again, "Sounds interesting. Is there an epic tale in this?"

"It's nothing epic." There was a brief hiss from Gu Jinzhi, which his hoarse voice muffled everything that Wen He could not tell if he was laughing. 

"The Lin Family isn't as dramatic as you've imagined. The first wife of my father turned out to be his childhood friend. They love each other very, very much. Too bad when Lin Kang was five, his mother suffered a terrible disease and she passed away. The family was no longer the same ever since. Their company got into problems too."
