Wen He froze and frowned in utter bewilderment as she turned to give Song Shou a look.

"..." Song Shou's jaw fell, "M-Ma'am?" He was absolutely dumbstruck. It was literally the truth that struck him like a lightning as chills raided his spine, "Am I seeing things? Are you a spirit? Am I dreaming?"

"What nonsense are you saying?" Wen He glared at him, "Song Shou, get over here and take your lunatic general away from me!"

Song Shou remained unrecovered from the shock. 

Huo Chen then lifted Wen He in his hands and sprinted forward as Wen He screamed and flailed like Princess Peach being abducted by Bowser, "Help! Help!" 

"Follow me!" Shouted Huo Chen at Song Shou.

Nevertheless, before Huo Chen could even flee from the place, a tall suited man showed up on his right and hindered his way out. Smiling, his voice rang nonchalantly, "My, my. General Huo, where are you taking *my* woman to?" 

General Huo held his steps back and squinted his eyes upon encountering the foreign man.

"G—Gu Jinzhi?"

Wen He pushed Huo Chen away, turned her head and beamed at Jinzhi, "You're back?"

"Miss me?" Said Jinzhi, flaunting his pale blue suit gracefully like a prince from a fairytale. His fair face was innocently handsome yet tinted with a bit of playfulness. 

Wen He's eyes were pleading for rescue, "Save me!"

He snorted, "You can actually smile properly when you are in plight." He then looked at Huo Chen, "General Huo is the hero of Country Z. He would not hurt an innocent like you. Plus, Wen He is my girlfriend. I don't think a self-righteous General like General Huo would do shameless things like snatching somebody else's girlfriend, right?" His tone was flat yet his words were offensive as ever.

Wen He's eyes jerked towards him in bewilderment.

Wut? I did not see that in my script. Who's his girlfriend here? The heck is wrong with you Gu Jinzhi?

Huo Chen's eyes turned dimmer as he grimly replied, "Mister Gu, I think there's a misunderstanding here. Allow me to provide you some information here - Wen He is my *wife*. A legally certified wife of mine." 

"I know." Gu Jinzhi smiled sweetly.

"And I'll be her very first backup boyfriend." 

"..." Wen He could not believe her ears. 

Omaigawd. Somebody please kill me right now! I can make my grand exit now. FOR GOOD.

She could feel the adrenaline boiling inside Huo Chen as she tried breaking free from his grip while passing glimpses at Jinzhi, asking him to do something rational. Her lovely eyes blinked expressively.

"It's only a matter of time till she divorces with you. And I'll be her new and better legal husband," he said lightheartedly.

"..." 

SOMEBODY. PLEASE. AUTHOR, KILL ME NOW. Say…the safe of Huo Chen's gun got loose and a bullet was fired through my head.

Huo Chen did not take the taunt really well as his expression turned graver. He lifted one corner of his lips in disdain, "I have no comment on your pathetic marital planning. Also, interfering marriage of a soldier is a major offense. As long as Wen He remains as my wife, you'll never ever have a word on us." 

"You're correct." Gu Jinzhi smiled.
