"Are you okay?" It was relieving to hear her voice again.

"What?" Lu Zhaoyang was bewildered, "I'm…fine? Why? How are you?" 

"Everything has ended. We are okay now." Huo Yunting was still unrelieved as he inquired further, "How's Xuxu? Is he fine?" 

"Sec." She immediately hung up the call as her guts told her that the war had ended too soon, too peacefully. 

"Hello, Yazhi, how's Xuxu?"

"The boy is fine, sis," giggled Lin Yazhi, "Although I fed him a huge slice of cake, sorry I didn't tell you that, sis." 

"Nevermind, feed him the entire cake."

"What?" And Lu Zhaoyang hung up, proceeded calling the bodyguards at the hospital.

"How's Ran?"

"Yes, ma'am. The baby is fine in her incubator."

"Okay, good."

"Both Xu and Ran are fine," said Lu Zhaoyang when she called back Huo Yunting.

"Mhm. Great." The man finally got relieved, "Okay, I'll talk to you later once I get home."

"Alright." But Xiang Jinxi's final words were puzzling. 

What did he mean by that?

Was it all bluff and bluster?

Or is it real that he has something else planned? 

Huo Yunting did not intend to stay at the place for too long. He had family to see and they needed to be seen as soon as possible.

Little did they know that, the trouble was not aimed at the adults but the child this time! 

Back at the hospital… 

Lu Zhaoyang's daughter was inside the main hospital in the City and there would be countless people visiting the place everyday. The medical workers were never at rest, not even the one at the delivery room. It appeared to them that they would get a newborn each day. 

The two bodyguards watched the place carefully with their eyes peeled for passersby. That was when a doctor hurried his way to the incubator room. 

Upon encountering a nurse, his voice muffled by his surgical, "This baby is too weak. Needs to be placed in an incubator immediately." He patted the baby properly wrapped in his embrace.

"Doc, this room is fully occupied. You can take the next one downstairs."

"It's okay. The baby in Incubator No. 3602 no longer needs assistance. I will hand it to the mother." 

"Alright then…" The nurse nodded approvingly. 

Nothing seemed wrong till she felt rather confused when she was heading downstairs via the elevator, "That doctor looks new…Why have I not seen him before? There isn't any announcement either…"

Was he from the batch that got transferred here days ago?

I have seen the profiles while the head introduced them in person too…No way I wouldn't recognize him.

Is it because he was wearing a mask?

And she exited the next floor without much skepticism. The doctor claimed to have No. 3602 exchanged but he walked to Huo Ran's incubator instead.

He carefully took out the sleeping baby and replaced it with the one he brought. Before the change of temperature caused her to whine, he had already drugged her asleep with a napkin coated with ammonia. 

He calmly shut the little door of the incubator and headed out into the busy flock of nurses. No one suspected as Huo Ran sank within the blanket he grabbed. The two bodyguards were alarming to the doctor as they were the final and the hardest obstacle to get away with.
