They went to a western food restaurant nearby the school and asked for the best seat in the house.1

Both of them ordered steak and the waiter had soon served their meals.

Mo Ning picked up her cutlery as she started to cut the steak. Her movement was measured and elegant, her demeanor exudes calm maturity.

While she was young, she had a calmness that was beyond most people her age and that itself was extremely attractive.

Huo Run gave her a careful glance and seeing the latter had no intention of speaking, she stabbed her steak in the plate to let out her frustrations.

"Here."

Suddenly, Mo Ning held her hand out and exchanged their plates.

"Hmmm?"

Huo Run looked down and saw that the steak before her had already been cut. Each cube was almost equal like it was measured prior.

Huo Run was stunned, before letting out a grin as her anger disappeared.

"Thank you."

The first rule of trying to capture a woman's heart; no woman would not like a guy that is considerate.

During the entire eating process, Mo Ning was silent and barely even spoke; as if both she and Huo Run had only came out to just eat.

Huo Run on the other hand was fidgeting in her seat. She looked at Mo Ning and saw her peachy eyes. Her eyes turned a few notch gloomier but she still kept up the pleasantries. "Mo Ning, you have nothing to say to me?"

Mo Ning put down her knife and only looked at Huo Run after she had finished chewing, before cracking a half-joke. "It's a little early if I were to tell you that I like you, right?"

"You…"

Huo Run was both embarrassed and flustered.

"You're out of your mind! Hmph!"

It was not surprising that she had asked that. Ever since she enrolled in this school, countless of guys had been after her courtship and while part of it was due to her beauty, it was mostly due to her standing as the daughter of the Huo family.

Everyone knew after all, that as long as they married her, they are set for a life of luxury.

Suddenly, Mo Ning spoke, "I had a question that I've been meaning to ask you for a while now."

"What is it?" Huo Run looked up in a daze.

Mo Ning got up bend forward and closed the distance between her and Huo Run. Caught off guard, Huo Run forgot to dodge and simply looked at the face just centimeters away from her in a stupor.

Shock set in first just as she was about to pull backwards. She saw the young man's lips curled that it revealed a mysterious grin.

"I have a feeling that you don't quite like my eyes. Why is that?"

At such close range, Huo Run noticed that Mo Ning's features were so immaculate that she could not even see pores on the latter's skin.

Yet the pair of dark irises was like an abyssal sea with a mysterious glow upon it.

"Not telling you!"

Mo Ning seemed to have seen through the secret in her heart and that got Huo Run flustered, yet another emotion welled within her chest.

"Alright."

Mo Ning sat back on her seat and shrugged as she rested her chin on her hand.

"I don't quite like my eyes either."

"Why?"

"Because I'm not the type that likes to get pursued."

Mo Ning blinked innocently yet so forthrightly. If one were to look closely, it came with a tinge of beguilement as well.

"My heart, is only meant for one person."

"Who would believe you!"

Huo Run glared at her yet her beet red face revealed her true thoughts.

Mo Ning simply just smiled.

After the meal, Huo Run went to the ladies and by the time she came out, it was already dark.

The two slowly walked down the street and neither spoke. All around them were quiet with barely any pedestrians.

Beneath the moonlight, their shadows grew long as the quiet atmosphere lasted some time until a few figures appeared.
