The butler arrived hastily to greet them. Huo Junyu pointed at the two people beside him and said, "They are my classmates. You don't have to check them."

Mo Ning was also in a light-coloured suit. Since it would be inappropriate for her to dress too maturely given her age, her suit was tailored to look more youthful.

Nevertheless, since she usually wore casual in university, matching a suit to her naturally handsome features made her look like a prince straight out of a fairytale book. She carried herself with grace and charm.

Like an angel descended from heaven, she looked beautiful and enchanting. The lightly applied makeup on her cheeks accentuated the smile on her face.

She looked at Mo Ning first with twinkling eyes. "You're here."

"Yes."

Mo Ning nodded with a smile. She passed an ornate box to Huo Run and noticed that the latter was wearing a diamond hairpin that was a present from her. That made her smile even wider.

"It's a present. You look beautiful tonight."

"Thank you."

Huo Run smiled courteously and accepted the gift. She then turned to Huo Junyu and Yan Sinian. "Uncle."

After a nod of acknowledgement from Huo Junyu, she looked at Yan Sinian.

The man was still smiling, but his eyes had turned a shade colder. Huo Run shuddered inside but greeted him with a forced smile, "Senior Yan, welcome."

For some reason, Yan Sinian always made her feel intimidated.

While she was impressed with his looks and bearing, she could not find herself liking him.

"Please have a seat," Huo Run continued with affected confidence, "I shall come by again soon."

"Thank you."

The trio sat down in a corner and ignored the attention they were getting from the other guests.

Mo Ning whispered to Huo Junyu, "Are you not close with your niece?"

Huo Junyu had treated Huo Run coldly just like a stranger.

Besides, even though both were freshmen in Qinglin University the same year, they had not been speaking to each other.
