Celestials busy knocking out people

A few meters away from where Qilin Hao vanished Ji Wen lay passed out amidst the clouds of dust that were so dense it blocked the light from the sky. 2

A foreboding silence spread across the plane with occasional bright flashes lighting up the murky fog like lightning flickering within the clouds before a heavy storm.

These hair-raising flashes in the sky were a result of the two high-grade purebloods clashing and from the disturbance, in the sky, it seemed like a deadly match.

Sounds of something limping and a heavy boot being dragged on the ground were heard giving off an eerie feeling but the person who lay on the ground didn't even flinch. He had his eyes closed with his expression so peaceful you would think he was dead.

The disturbing footsteps got closer and closer. Soon a man holding up his broken arm emerged from the dense thickness. He was limping on one leg while dragging the other as he approached Ji Wen.

Though he looked mangled and dishevelled his expression wasn't that of pain but rather maniacal. His eyes flashed a bright brown-yellowish colour with a quirk at the corner of his lips.

When he saw the defenceless Ji Wen his eyes became even more crazed. As his steps faltered due to the thrill of ending the life of the infamous Pirate King a rough grating sound came from the ground.

When he looked down he saw a sabre with its blade lying at his foot. The thought of stabbing Ji Wen over and over again with his own sabre made his blood rush. Licking his blood-stained lips with a sinister smile he picked up the sabre.

For years this man had constantly suppressed him time and time again. Even when he asked to join the Concord his fleet was destroyed by Ji Wen. Before he destroyed his aether Ji Wen had called him unworthy.

Why was he unworthy? Was it because he ransacked defenceless villagers, robbed and killed fishermen? Wasn't this what pirates should do? Didn't pirates live by robbing, smuggling, flying under false colours, impersonating officials, committing arson, kidnapping, piracy and hijacking?

If anything Ji Wen wasn't worthy of the title Pirate King because he committed none of these crimes. He hated this man so much for destroying his aether and sinking his ships. When he heard the Qilin were recruiting half breeds he volunteered and the Qilin offered to repair his aether in exchange for loyalty.

His power restored he served the Qilin diligently but who would have thought his enemy would show up at his doorstep serving himself on a silver platter. Taking the opportunity he attacked the Concord within the dust cloud with his enlarged insects.

He wanted to take Ji Wen away and take his time with him but who would have thought his cicada would get shot out of the sky. Again he had assumed he had lost the opportunity to exact revenge but who would have thought he would stumble upon a passed out Ji Wen after taking a few steps.

A grinding sound like that of metal being scraped against the rocky ground filled the air as he dragged Ji Wen's sabre. With his feet on either side of Ji Wen's body towering above him he raised the sabre and said, "You are the one not worthy of the title of Pirate King.... Now you will die and no one can save you."

After saying this he raised the sabre before stabbing it down. But instead of the sound of a sharp blade cutting through flesh, there was an eerie silence. Frustrated he pressed down the blade twice with a grunting sound only to look down and find the person who had been knocked out cold had his eyes open glaring icily at him.

Ji Wen's eyes were a bright blue glowing within the darkness as giant sparks of electricity spread out from the sabre. The man's eyes widened as he took a step back letting go of the sabre. Quivering, he shouted angrily, "Why can't you just die, bastard!!"

Ji Wen's body rose from the ground like a ghost with giant sparks of electricity emerging from his body striking the air and ground. His sabre obediently came into his hand as he replied, "Because I am the fucking Pirate King bitch."

After saying this he swung his sabre and an arc of lightning sparks slashed the man's body cutting him in half before the sparks began to spread slowly charring his body.

Ji Wen's chest heaved as he glared coldly at the dismembered corpse with an imperious gaze. He couldn't believe for a moment that he had gotten outsmarted by this pest. Frowning in disdain he clutched the grip of his sabre tightly before turning around to leave.

But just as he took a step forward a dark figure appeared in front of him within the clouds of dust. His brow creased trying to make a quick judgement and determine whether this person was an enemy or not.

But before he could even make that decision he heard a large bird cry as the clouds of dust parted and a shadowy figure fell from the sky. He wanted to get out of the way but the human figure from earlier appeared in front of him.

A beautiful face which was much less beautiful than that of his wife appeared in front of him and blew some dust in his face with a disingenuous smile. Before he knew it his body collapsed to the ground as a Kunpeng hit the ground with a loud boom.

The Kunpeng slowly returned to its human form revealing a familiar face. Who else could it be but Hei Ying? That though wasn't the most surprising thing. The most startling thing was the person in his arms. Qilin Luse was also knocked down cold.

Two more figures appeared and checked if their victims were really knocked out. Their strategy was simple. Knock out the key players in this game and rearrange the chess pieces. If they don't agree with their terms then they would be eliminated.

But their sister leading this mission believed they would take them up on their offer as long as she eliminated the biggest threat. If it were up to them they would have simply neutralized the threat and restored balance. That is to say, celestials never negotiated with anyone.

While this was happening in the background things between Huishe Yue and Qilin San had become so heated that they were literally tearing the continent apart. Large rifts had already begun to appear in various parts of Hyesong. Some cracks even had hot lava flowing out of the soil like boiling porridge spilling over from the pot.

The Qilin had also taken up arms fighting with the other clan warriors completely laying waste to the imperial city. The once gorgeous city that stood proud as the epitome of this peaceful continent was reduced to dust bringing its citizens to tears.
