An eerie silence filled the large hall that looked like a safety hazard at a single glance. The walls were cracked, the roof was partially damaged and the floors had huge circular cracks where debris from the roof had fallen. It looked like an earthquake-resistant building struck by a nine point six magnitude earthquake. 1

Despite the safety hazard, a large number of people were standing on either side of a large wooden table. To the right side were the Concord, Pirate King Ji and his wife. In the middle of the couple was Ji Yao silently sitting there with his wrists yet again restrained by a bright white rope he couldn't free himself from.

His expression looked somewhat dull as he sat there like a lifeless doll. He appeared haggard which wasn't like him and his mind was elsewhere. All he could think about was Rui Fei but these people wouldn't let him go. So he just sat there hoping this discussion will end soon enough.

To the far right of the table were the Qilin clan elders who hadn't taken their eyes off Ji Yao ever since he walked in. Behind them were some of their strongest clan members excluding Qilin Kai. No one knew where he ran off to at this point.

On the left side of the table were all the other clan leaders sitting alongside the Huishe. Behind them were their clans glaring daggers at the Qilin clan like a fight was about to break out at any moment.

At the head of the table was Huishe Xiyue who appeared calm but her eyes were red possibly from all the crying earlier. Behind her, the three celestials were wearing not so good expressions with one of them casually wiping the blade of her divine sword as though threatening them to behave.

Huishe Xiyue smiled at her parents and brother with whom she had already had a small reunion with half an hour ago. She wanted to talk more and tell them everything about where she had been but right now the important thing was to sort out why she was here.

Seeing Ji Yao's leg shaking under the table Qilin Hao placed her hand on his shoulder and pressed it as though telling him to calm down. She was here for him and would make sure that her son wasn't wronged.

If he wants to marry Rui Fei and live out the rest of his days on Red Valkyrie she would make sure it happens. She was willing to do anything to make up for the years she wasn't there for him.

Speaking for him she said, "I take it little Xi Xi is the one in charge?" with a mocking smile that had Huishe Xiyue gritting her teeth.

"You...," she whispered recalling the one time she had met Qilin Hao as a cub and even spent time with her in the Huishe clan. Because Qilin Hao hadn't awakened no one could tell she was Qilin. She had casually entered the Huishe clan city gates and somehow met Huishe Xiyue the little girl who was treated like a princess.

For years Huishe Xiyue always had a soft spot for that big sister who she made friends with when she was young. When she found out that Qilin Hao was a Qilin she was so upset and felt tricked. Now hearing that pet name 'little Xi Xi' made her blood boil.

Huishe Nan furrowed his brows staring at his son who should know about this pet name as he was his sister's keeper back then but it seemed even Huishe Yue did not know anything about it. 

Clenching her fist Huishe Xiyue said, "Don't call me that otherwise you and I won't have anything to discuss."

"*Sigh..... is this the way you speak to your in-laws? After we marry our sons we will be practically sisters. Isn't this what you always wanted little Xi Xi," said Qilin Hao crossing one leg over the other.

"I can accept their relationship as long as you aren't part of the package," replied Huishe Xiyue her face as black as the bottom of a charcoal pot.

Having directed this conversation exactly where she wanted it Qilin Hao said, "if that's the case then it means you have no intentions of imprisoning my son, right? Now, how about you be a good sister and take these off." After saying this she raised her son's cuffed hands with a sly smile.

Huishe Xiyue didn't like the fact that her mind had been read like a book by Qilin Hao. If it weren't that Ji Yao would be the one to suffer she wouldn't mind having Qilin Hao jump through hoops. Annoyed she flung her hand and the restraints vanished.

The celestials behind her wanted to protest but since the Lord had given Huishe Xiyue authority over all of them they couldn't disobey her for now. Her decisions after coming here were emotional and nothing like what celestials should do. So they decided to contact the Lord of the Celestial realm after this so her authority may be revoked.

Ji Yao rubbed his wrist but he still didn't say anything. This in itself was very concerning to Ji Wen and he tried to talk to him but Ji Yao just lowered his head saying nothing at all. Frustrated, Ji Wen said, "We already came to an agreement about this so I don't understand why you are involving yourselves in our matters."

"That agreement is now invalid. The fact that a Qilin has awakened as the King of the Nocru is no joking matter. According to the mandate of the celestials, he is meant to be eliminated," said one of the women behind Huishe Xiyue.

"You dare!" bellowed Ji Wen abruptly getting on his feet with the chair scraping hard against the damaged floor. His roar caused a few tremors on the roof and some dust particles flew by. Similarly, the concord drew their weapons ready to stand by Ji Wen's side even if it meant they would die. Qilin Hao got up and pressed her husband's shoulders down.

Ji Wen immediately sat back in his chair and the rage burning within him simmered down from the way his wife was massaging his shoulders. "Oh... but he is not only Qilin but Raiju and human. That so-called mandate of yours doesn't apply in this case," she said shutting down that mouthy celestial that kept pushing her buttons as though trying her patients.

"Yes, this is why we are here to negotiate peace between the two worlds and restore balance. I would say that it would be best if all the Nocru, half or otherwise, pack their belongings and leave earth but it's not feasible. There are plenty of mixed breed families with human parents, brothers and sisters thus we need to come up with a new agreement."
