'Did you just scold me! Is that a way to speak to your elders?' said the voice in an accusatory tone that if it had hands it would have been pointing at Ji Yao with a shaky finger.

"Psht elder my ass. You sound like a kid," he replied as he lay back in the bathtub his expression as tranquil as before.

Ji Yao could barely understand why this voice was there and what this whole Acany seed nonsense was about but he could clearly feel the person's agony. "Who did it? If I can I will avenge you," replied Ji Yao.

"Bah, that was thousands and thousands of years ago. I don't even remember the exact time anymore. It was my Qilin bride..... can you believe that? I thought she loved me but she was just sent to end my life sooner because the Qilin couldn't wait for their turn to be King."

Ji Yao's breath hitched before his eyes closed. It now made sense why his mother's clan never took the throne. They were willing to murder a kid just to speed up the cycle and hopefully get a child from their clan born with the Acany seed.

"I am sorry," he mumbled with a dull ache in his chest. He had experienced his life being in danger countless times but this kid wasn't as lucky as him and he was even betrayed by his beloved. He couldn't even begin to imagine how painful it would be if Rui Fei would betray him like that. He reckoned the pain from having his aether stabbed into wasn't as painful as being betrayed by his lover.

"Haha..... No need for that. Watching you whipping and stabbing the Qilin clan leader was enough revenge for me," said the voice with a self deprecating laugh that had Ji Yao's chest tightening in pain.

"I will tell you how coupling is done and in exchange, you finish absorbing the Acany seed so I can finally be free. How is that?" said the voice.

Ji Yao who was curious agreed to it though even if he didn't get anything out of it he still would have fulfilled the voice's wish. He owed it a debt of gratitude because he wouldn't have been able to save Rui Fei.
