Qilin Kai faces the consequences of adultery
His body was sent flying and his back hit the wall with a loud crash. Qilin Kai quickly got up with his body engulfed in azure flames. He raised his hands in front of his body blocking an incoming assault but his arm was suddenly wrapped by chains shrouded in shimmering orange light.2
His body was jerked forward and slammed onto the floor with his seraphic energy dying down like a candle flame blown out by the wind. From within the darkness, a pair of orange-coloured pupils glowed giving off an eerie feeling.
His nostrils flaring up in anger Qilin Kai sat up and yelled angrily, "Who the fuck are you?" with the veins on his neck protruding. But the shadowy figure didn't respond. Instead, his upper body was kicked viciously and he fell back to the ground with a thud.
Because the person had engaged his aether the kick was especially brutal considering that the latrion chains were blocking the flow of Qilin Kai's seraphic energy. His body lying on his side he coughed up a mouthful of blood while struggling to get up.
Thinking of his son his chest tightened painfully. "Wha__," he asked as he sat up again but a kick was sent straight to his face and his blood sprayed all over the wall and floor.
A pair of gold brocade boots walked over to him in heavy intimidating steps halting right in front of him. Seeing these boots Qilin Kai couldn't help but shiver. Who didn't know which clan loved gold so much? It's just that the last time he saw the clan leaders on Ji Wen's island he didn't pay close attention. Now that he had fallen into their trap he couldn't help but feel regretful. The man crouched down before him and painfully grasped his hair forcing him to look up. A streak of blood smeared Qilin Kai's cheek and ear lobe with half his face appearing swollen.
"You must have known this was going to happen," said the man staring straight at him with a menacing gaze, "you can't possibly expect to eat cabbage from someone else's garden without consequences, right?"
Qilin Kai's face sank when he saw the Pixiu clan leader staring at him like a robber. Yes, he had robbed but it wasn't that he did it intentionally. He honestly thought Wei Wei loved him and wanted to run away with him. Who would have thought things would end up like this.
"Now that I have you in my grasp I naturally have to seek justice and exchange you for my daughter's freedom," he said before dragging him up by his hair out of the room.
Qilin Kai hissed in pain as he staggered to his feet trying to lessen the pain from his hair getting pulled before asking, "My family.... where, where are they?"
The Pixiu clan leader tightened his grasp on Qilin Kai's hair as he snorted coldly, "Prisoners have no right to ask questions." Qilin Kai's eyes stung from the pain but it was incomparable to the pain in his chest. He couldn't stop thinking about those stubborn almond-shaped eyes glaring at him when he asked his parents to take his son away. He wanted to see his son and apologize for not doing right by him. But now he had no idea where he was or who he was with.
He couldn't help but ask himself if Qilin Hao would be so cruel as to take his son away from him. If even a hair on his head was missing he vowed to end his life taking Ji Yao with him. Their feud was between them not their children so why should his little Tong Tong be involved in this conflict?
At this moment Qilin Kai had completely forgotten that he was the very same person who fought with Ji Yao his intention as clear as day. He wanted to kill Ji Yao and cause Qilin Hao pain but now that the tables had turned his mindset had taken a complete one-eighty degrees turn.
While Qilin Kai was being dragged towards the main hall, the three celestials who had accompanied Huishe Xiyue were in the forest with one of them drawing runes on the ground. Their purpose was simple. They wanted to communicate with the Lord of the Celestials and inform him of what had occurred.
As to why they weren't including Huishe Xiyue, it was because her priorities when she came back to her world had taken a drastic turn. What was the responsibility of the celestials? It was to restore balance and eliminate the subjects threatening to shift that balance.
To restore the balance between these two worlds and prevent the elimination of the weaker species that is humans they had to slaughter the Qilin clan and cut off their roots so their vile nature wouldn't sprout again.
But when they got here Huishe Xiyue refused to eliminate them saying that causing the extinction of an entire clan was genocide. Cutting off the head of the snake would suffice and they could negotiate a peace treaty among the clans. As for Qilin San, it was best he was cut off from the cycle of reincarnation which could be handled by the Lord of Celestials.
They wanted to refute her but because she was in charge they could only nod their heads and say 'yes ma'am'.
But something unexpected happened. The one thing the Lord of Celestials had single-handedly tried to prevent which is having a Qilin reigning as the King of the Nocru actually came to pass.
Their priority, of course, shifted towards eliminating Ji Yao but Huishe Xiyue argued that he wasn't even a hundred per cent Qilin. This was the argument that broke the camel's back. They had to involve the Lord of the Celestials as they had no confidence in Huishe Xiyue.
It was obvious that her priority was to please her son and nothing else. She had brought personal feelings into it putting the fate of the two worlds in jeopardy. This is what led to these sisters hanging around in the forest at night like witches having a meeting.
"It's done," said one of them as she threw away the stick she was using.
"Is this the only way we can do this?" said another one with both her hands on her waist as she looked at the messy runes, "you couldn't even draw it well. They look like messy scribbles as though done by a toddler."
Insulted the one who had drawn the so-called messy scribbles glared at her while saying, "You try drawing runes with a stick on rocky soil. Let's see if you can do any better chatty Cathy."
"Who are you calling chatty Cathy miss hairy chin. Are you growing your beard by any chance?"
With such insults flying how can a fight not break down? Celestials were meant to be dignified and slow to anger but ever since they left the celestial realm and came here the claws came out and fur began to fly. Even Huishe Xiyue who looked like an angel was swearing at people. This world was truly poisonous.
