The aura of a king
The boisterous hall fell into silence as a man dressed in a golden robe with silver patterns jerked a long chain followed by a body tumbling to the floor with a loud thud. On the floor was a face familiar to everyone. Who didn't know Qilin San's chosen heir? 0
This was Qilin San's right-hand man, his henchmen, the man who did his bidding. Now he was being dragged into the main hall by the Pixiu clan leader like a criminal. And the crime he was being accused of was most unusual.
The Pixiu clan leader picked him up with the back of his head and tossed him right by Huishe Nan's feet his chest heaving violently. His forehead laced with a layer of sweat he said, "Clan leader Huishe... I have come to exchange my daughter with the true culprit. It wasn't her fault that this vile man forced himself on her and she became pregnant with his child. Thus I have brought the true culprit and in exchange, you free my daughter."
Sounds of whispers and murmurs were heard throughout the main hall as Qilin Kai lay on the ground with his hair scattered all over the place concealing his face. The person who was being spoken to remained calm as he sipped some liquor from his cup with an unreadable expression.
Annoyed the Pixiu clan leader clenched his fist and banged on the table with a loud bam prompting the warriors behind Huishe Nan to walk forward while drawing their weapons. Huishe Nan raised his hand to stop them and placed his cup back on the table.
In an unhurried tone, he said, "Normally we would sit down and discuss this issue between our clans but things have changed." As soon as his words fell he glanced over in Ji Yao's direction expressing his meaning before turning back to face the Pixiu clan leader with an indescribable calmness on his face.
The Pixiu clan leader wasn't at all pleased with his attitude in the slightest. He clenched his teeth tightening his jaw with the veins on his neck bulging clearly expressing the amount of anger he was suppressing.
"This has nothing to do with him. He isn't even a pureblood. Just because your grandson has a weird relationship with him you have all seemed to forget he is a Qilin bastard! He....." he roared only for his voice to die down abruptly as a sword was directly placed on his neck.
Around him, he could hear sounds of chairs scraping against the floor as a couple of people got up each holding their weapons in a threatening posture.
As to who got up, it included characters like Qilin Hao, Qilin Luse, the concord and surprisingly the drunk pirate king Ji. You would think he was knocked out cold but at the mention of his son he swiftly woke up.
The one who had an ice-cold blade at his throat was none other than Rui Fei. He glared viciously at the man like he was going to press that blade down at the slightest provocation.
"He is not a bastard. I am his father and I had sex with my wife over here," said Ji Wen with half-lidded eyes before he was pulled down by Ji Yao.
Ji Yao observed his father and couldn't quite decide whether the person was drunk or not. While he was scrutinizing his father, Huishe Nan spoke again saying, "Now there is no need to be disrespectful. Sit Haoran and let's discuss this properly."
"Discuss it properly? You of all people should understand how it feels. Your daughter was also assaulted by a lunatic and was forced to bear a child, AAAAAHHHHHHH!!!" he screamed after dark seraphic energy suddenly attacked his aetherial veins twisting and curling them painfully. Rui Fei's eyes which were clear and charming just now were pitch black with a horrifying hypnotic effect like that of a viper.
Worried that Rui Fei might do something he would regret and expose a side of him that all clans would be terrified of Ji Yao called out to him, "Ah-Fei!"
That call was enough to bring him back to himself. With a plop, Pixiu Haoran fell to the ground as he shivered in fear on the ground.
Huishe Nan carefully studied his daughter's expression and his heart sank. Her face had been drained of all colour her lips quavering slightly.
She was a celestial yes but the mention of her past reopened old wounds causing her to almost shut down. What made it worse was that he said it in front of everyone. People had heard horrible things had happened to the angelic Huishe Xiyue but no one had the audacity to say it out loud.
Huishe Nan placed his hand on Rui Fei's shoulder and whispered into his ear, "Take your mother outside," before patting his back twice urging him on.
Huishe Nan squeezed Huishe Yue's shoulder urging him to go with his twin sister but Huishe Yue remained unmoved. He had his weapon drawn towering above Pixiu Haoran with his chest rising and falling rapidly with bloodshot eyes.
"Go," said Huishe Nan in a commanding tone. Huishe Yue sheathed his weapon with a look that seemed to say, "Watch your fucking back," before following Rui Fei.
Ji Yao followed Rui Fei's disappearing figure with his eyes and he could clearly feel the pain and anger emanating from his body. Clenching his fists in rage he shifted his gaze towards the Pixiu clan leader. His breathing quickened as an explosive emotion whirled up in him.
Huishe Nan was seething in anger and was on the verge of exploding. With a loud bellow, he said, "Haoran! What did you mean by that!"
Pixiu Haoran got up from his feet and was about to justify his actions when the table was suddenly flipped over before a whip sword struck at it and split it in half. The entire main hall cowered as a massive surge of suppressive energy burst forth from within Ji Yao's body. He didn't like to see Rui Fei upset hence whoever made him that way naturally had to pay.
Huishe Nan looked to Qilin Hao to stop Ji Yao but she shrugged her lips as she reached out to support her husband who was about to fall over. Ji Yao's entire body was shrouded in a red and blue aura rippling around him like flames.
With each step he took the people in his vicinity held their hearts in their hands as the numb feeling spread throughout their entire bodies. This inexplicable aura was that of a king and their aether naturally shrivelled in his presence. Bearing the brunt of their King's aura they found it very difficult to refrain from bowing.
Ji Yao directly kicked Pixiu Haoran in the chest and his body flew a great distance before hitting a pillar causing the roof to tremble slightly. As the dust from the roof rained down Ji Yao walked over in slow strides giving off an aura like that of a punisher ordained by the heavens to punish the wicked.
