The elders who had been exposed could only appease Qilin Hao by explaining hurriedly but she wasn't in the mood to listen to these old men. She yelled at them, "Get out! Now!" her eyes bloodshot.

She wanted her son to live a peaceful fulfilling life but who would have thought he would have been spared from a lifetime of grief from the very beginning. If she hadn't been deprived of her right as clan leader from the beginning she would have prevented all of this from happening to her son.

She would have prevented her son from being hurt by her father a long time ago. The entire main hall fell into silence as she was left alone with her drunk husband lost in thought. Even Wei Wei had been dragged away by the Pixiu clan leader as they had lost so much face that they were so embarrassed. They thought they could solve this under the table but with the Huishe clan hot on their trail it was very much impossible.

She soothingly stroked her husband's curly hair absent-mindedly. She kept thinking that her luck was so bad. Countless times she had tried to protect her son but she failed. Her mother had protected her by removing this acany seed but in turn, it put her offspring in jeopardy.

If only she had known. If only someone had told her she would have searched for it in her son's aether the moment he was born so she could protect him. While she was struggling with her emotions her son who had vanished reappeared but he wasn't alone. The Lord of Celestials appeared as well with a grin as wide as a Cheshire cat.

Qilin Hao felt relieved. She sighed before saying to him, "Ah-Fei got knocked out by his mother. When you left he caused so much trouble with the celestials that little Xi Xi had no choice but to knock him out."

Ji Yao hummed in agreement before walking past her. "He is probably in the room you were previously but I am not certain," she continued to say as she got up to support Ji Wen.

"So you are truly willing for your son to be involved with a Huishe? Aren't you enemies?" asked the Lord of the Celestials recalling the fierce battle between the Qilin and the Huishe throughout the years.

Qilin Hao glared at this demon clothed in sheep's clothing and said, "Oh, I see what you are doing? He is a married man so back the fuck off."

"Aiyo, aren't you the one who told him to crawl into Rui Fei's bed to solidify their relationship so as to get the other clans to defend against me? Ah, don't look so surprised. I know everything."

Qilin Hao was so annoyed but what was she going to do? She was inferior when compared to this celestial. She could only humph as she led her husband out of the main hall.

Ji Yao wasn't at all polite. As soon as Qilin Hao told him where Rui Fei was he disappeared immediately without considering that he was now the host of the Lord of Celestials.

When the great lord realized it he paused in his tracks and said, "So, I just pick a bedroom to sleep in then? Wow, no hospitality at all." Lucky for him his presence still scared the shit out of some of his disciples who came to his aid.

Ji Yao on the other hand entered the bedroom intending to slip into the bed and cuddle Rui Fei. He was so exhausted and just wanted to be in his lover's arms. But before he could remove his brocade boots he was met by a familiar figure sitting on the bed.

His brow scowled as he stared at Huishe Xiyue sitting at the corner of the bed. Can anyone tell him how to deal with an overprotective mother in law? What on earth should he say? He didn't grow up with a mother and had no example to go with. Maybe he should treat her the same way he treats his father but... the situation was completely different.

He loved his father but his dad was also the most annoying person in the world. He would cling to him like a tick when he was in the mood and when he was with his wife he would ignore Ji Yao like he didn't exist. Obviously, the treatment between Huishe Xiyue and Ji Wen should be sparsely different.

Before she walked out of the door Ji Yao asked, "You don't..... you don't mind us being together?" while clutching the side of his robe. He was extremely nervous about this question.

Huishe Xiyue paused at the door when she heard this. She turned to look at his lonesome stiff back and said, "I did at first but I didn't think he would ever find love. I thought he would either end up like me or like his father..... But at the end of the day, he exceeded my expectations. He not only found someone he loves but also someone who loves him. He did much better than I did so why object? He is happy, isn't he?"

"I should be thanking you for loving him the same way he loves you," she said as a beautiful smile crept up at the corners of her lips. "Take good care of each other," she said before exiting the room and shutting the door behind him.

Ji Yao stood there frozen for a long while with an inexplicable feeling in his heart.
